The showers were warm, the room was spacious and clean, the front desk was great, the breakfast breakfast had a nice spread, including an omelet station. Good value hotel.

Hotel property needs updating of their rooms and old bathrooms. Rooms and bathrooms (we occupied 3 rooms) are big compared to others but look tired and need fixing. Staff are courteous.

Our internet didn’t work in the first room but the staff were very friendly and moved us then we had no problems. The breakfast buffet was $70,000 and lots of good food and coffee, very clean amenities and the staff were very helpful. They even have a guy who chases monkeys away so you can sit by the pool in peace!

You get what you pay for. Pictures of the bedroom space are accurate Standard room bathrooms are poorly represented in the photos (the villas are the newer and nicer spaces - the hotel rooms less so) All in all wish we had picked somewhere nicer Pros - the bedroom is nice - spacious, tile floors, sturdy wooden furniture, mosquito net around bed - good price for a hotel room ($45 AUD/night) - bidet hose with toilet - friendly staff - beautiful pool - bath is nice once full, good depth, water heats quickly Cons - mould covered shower floor and stained grout (not only gross, but slippery) - water pressure is usually poor in Bali, but the shower had barely any pressure - shower takes minutes to heat up - broken ceramic and cracks in bath - walls are not soundproofed - screaming children are not what I wanted to hear at 9:30 - 10:30pm multiple nights PLUS 5:30am the following morning - no safe - lumpy pillows Neutrals - monkeys can be sparse, but can also be everywhere (we liked this, but your milage may vary - they WILL steal from you if you leave anything on the balcony or go out near them with food) - mattress is firm - lots of stairs (fine for us, tricky if less active or not able bodied) - key locked doors - can be sticky and takes two clicks to lock (not one like we thought initially) - few power points (we expect this everywhere and bring power boards)

The pool and outdoor space was beautiful…The room was filthy!…the bed sheets smelled humid…there were bugs all over the room…the Wi-Fi did not work at all….the tv did not work

While hidden up an alley way - this property is one to really look into. We stayed in a Villa. It was private, spacious, and always kept clean. It seems this property has and is going through some work or has just finished some upgrades. A lot of people worry about the Monkeys and the closeness to the Monkey forest. Yes, there are monkeys. Yes they will come to your balcony and villa and pinch stuff that you leave outside. This is not a property to stay at if you can't walk steps or steep paths (mind you Ubud area is steep overall). I would stay here again - but monkey poo in the pool at the villa did get frustrating... The staff safety walk you to your rooms which is nice and the staff in general was good. The buffet breakfast was lacking.

Underwhelming but colourful
Could do with a fridge in the room especially as they provided some water. Warm water is not it. Seems that they are also taking seriously the no food or drink as they don’t provide anything to make you comfortable in this regard, no wine glasses, tea or coffee making facilities etc

Second time to stay here. Beautiful grounds, pleasant staff, in a great location. The abundance of monkeys is what makes this place special though (very cheeky!).

It's a beautiful area and very relaxing. The monkeys are amazing to watch (just guard your belongings!). The room was quite large and had a large balcony. Housekeeping were very pleasant and helpful. I do think the cleaning itself (especially bathrooms) could be turned up a few notches. It wasn't what I would call clean. The pool should be open till 10pm, not 7pm. It's beautiful at night and an evening swim to cool down from the day would be amazing. It was listed that the property had 2 restaurants and a bar. While in a way this is true, they weren't open as suggested. The one restaurant was only open in the morning for the buffet. The other restaurant was open till 10pm. The bar they were talking about wasn't open at all, except for one cooking class that we saw. Other than the few small suggestions, I would recommend if you're looking for something that is fairly cheap but still decent to stay in.

The hotel does match the pictures, it is just very, very old. Signs of wear everywhere, electrical sockets are lose and dodgy. There are no safes in the rooms, only by reception. When I arrived, the shower hose in my bathroom was lacking the metal casing, so as soon as I turned the water up, it broke loose and sprayed the whole room. They repaired it within minutes of reporting though, which was close to midnight. I was given 2 bath towels (it was a double room) no face towels, no hand towels, and the bath mat only appeared on day 3 of my stay.

The hotel is very well located, it isn’t right in the center but everything is within walking distance. It is next to the Monkey Forest so you will see some monkeys from time to time visiting the hotel. The pool has two nice pools which are cleaned, I think they should allow people to swim until 10pm because 8pm seems quite early and there aren’t rooms that close from the pool. I got an upgrade to a Deluxe room, the room is big and comfortable, however, the bathrooms would benefit from some deep cleaning with bleach and scrubbing, they are quite yellow and sometimes smell weird. The rooms need a bit more care and a hand of paint. The breakfast is quite nice, I saw some people complaining about the lack of option, but it seems like they have improved because they had an extension to make eggs and omelets, I would say that they have a fair amount of options for you to choose.

unfortunately there was building work being carried out which we was not notified of, we was offered a room right opposite this which we declined, we was offered another 3 rooms all which had stained and dirty bedding, bathroom had cobwebs and dirty floors, very disappointed with this hotel . the grounds and location was great but glad it was only a 4 night stay

Very close to money forest and even monkeys wandering round hotel grounds (and sneaking in for breakfast when they can!) nice pool, close to amenities and shops and restaurants but still peaceful,

Loved this Hotel!! It's right beside the Sacred Monket Forest and there were heaps of Monkeys everywhere! I could have sat by the pool all day just watching them! Only downside was no TV in the room and wifi was pretty bad. Other than that it was an awesome location central to everything, the pools and grounds were beautiful, staff were lovely, rooms were clean and a great price too. As long as you're not a recluse and want to stay in your room all the time it's a great choice.

Every channel on the tv was blurry. I contacted management and they said they couldnt do anything about it because they were all local channels. The only reason I booked the hotel was because I wanted to be able to rest and watch tv.

Liked the fact that it was close to shops and restaurants also close to monkeys. Monkeys would keep us entertained on our balconies and on the roof. Breakfast was great and staff were friendly. One thing the hotel could improve on is making sure the floors in the rooms and balconies were mopped each day as monkeys caused mess on balconies rails ect. Also bath needed a good scrub as looked like it hadn't been done for ages.

We have stayed here previously and decided to stay again. We like the proximity to the Monkey Forest and the 'entertainment' that the monkeys provide in the hotel grounds - uninvited of course! We also love the fact that there are two big swimming pools here, and they are never crowded. The smaller pool is much deeper, but both provide the opportunity for good swims. The staff here are very helpful and polite, and quick to fix any issue. The buffet breakfast is very good, with lots of choices and of course lovely fresh cooked pancakes, and eggs any style cooked for you. The hotel is just far enough off the road to block street noise, and the garden areas give a feeling of tranquility from the busy Ubud township. Lots of good restaurants nearby on Monkey Forest Rd and Hanoman St, eg: Bali Cafe for Balinese and SOMA for vegan. Highly recommend staying at Champlung Sari!

The room was amazing- the staff were great and the pools were great. It was right in the center of everywhere and we loved it. The best bit about my whole trip to Bali were the monkeys- amazing place to stay and see the monkeys everywhere and being treated with respect. They were great and i loved them on my balcony. Thank you :)

2 pools with poolside beverage service, 2 on-site dining locations, a very lovely spa, kind staff, nice rooms, much security and feels safe, yet VERY centralized convenient walking location to/from most everything you need while staying in the city (trekking/tours etc., excluded as this would require a vehicle.) This was my second stay here and I hope to plan a 3rd. It is a very reasonable price for such a convenient and relaxing stay. Two things of note: in my experiences, the beds are very firm. They have many rooms, so inquire as to options if this may be a problem for you. We woke up stiff/sore which can sabotage a trip if that you don’t feel good. The other is basic but it seems, missed all too often by guests: If you are scared of monkeys or just don’t like them, instead of giving this lovely place a poor review, just stay somewhere else. There are often more monkeys on the CS property than people see in the Monkey Forest on tour. CS is IN THE MONKEY FOREST! Overall, always pleased with my choice to stay here.

I liked the atmosphere and the grounds. The pools were well kept, and my room was cleaned daily. It was sometimes difficult to communicate with staff on reception
