Double Charge and Not-so-Hot Tub
I reserved a King bed room through Hotels.com and paid for my stay on the site. When I arrived at the Hampton, they had my reservation but did not have a King bed available and did not have record of my payment. I accepted the Queen bed. I showed them my payment receipt from Hotels.com but they insisted on charging me anyway. The hot tub was merely warm and my complaint to the front desk staff fell on unconcerned ears. I went to the desk in the morning again to confront the double charge for the room. After much arguing, they "found" the double payment and reimbursed me. Disappointing at best. Fruatrating.

This was the filthiest Hampton Inn we have ever stayed at! Rust and dirt on tub and dirt on floor. Filthy rugs and dust all over. Apparent poor management.

I was greeted by the owner/ manager and she looked up my Expedia reservation that had not came through yet. Chatted pleasantly and told me about all of the amenities. In the morning she was there making breakfast and making sure people were happy. Stay there!

The bed had a broken bar sticking out, a family member gashed her leg on it. Two adults and 3 children under 18 were in a room with a Queen and a pull out couch. The front desk would only allow 4 towels, no pool towels had to use room towels to dry off and the towels would not be replaced. Had to go dig out the wet towels and take them to the front desk for 4 dry towels. Cleaning staff was very rude and unhelpful. Great breakfast!!

The room had mostly dead bugs along the edge of the walls. the closet had a few dozen dead bugs on the floor. the electric curtain was broken and stuck down. The A/c did not work from the wall remote. Not sure if the room had not been used in a while but did not feel clean. Then when a few of the bugs turned out to no be dead...

We asked for adjoining rooms, since we were traveling with my mother and children. The lady at the front desk didn’t acknowledge that request and didn’t give us adjoining rooms. Both room were supposed to be non-smoking. One room stunk badly of cigarette smoke, it was disgusting. We had to ask for extra towels because they only gave us two in the room.

On our arrival we were informed by a clearly panicky woman at the desk that she was the sole employee in the hotel at that time and couldn't check us in on the computer or make us a room key. Several other couples were waiting in the lobby. She let us into our room with her key. The window shade was see-through to the highway without any curtain. We had to hang a blanket up over it for privacy. At checkout we were sent an email receipt which had the wrong address on it - in another state from where we live. Overall, we were left feeling very uncomfortable and wondering if our information was secure. Management should have been aware of local events causing increased bookings, and prepared accordingly

Rooms and lobby were very clean. Beds were comfortable with lots of pillows. Breakfast was surprisingly good. I had gluten-free banana nut waffles. There was only 1 bath towel so we did have to ask for additional ones but overall an excellent stay.

Hotel was clean and had nice decor. Bed was comfy and staff were nice and happy. What ruined our stay was very stale smell in our room and it was very damp so it was uncomfortable sleeping. There was mold in the corner of the bathroom. When I told the front desk they said the staff will make sure it gets sprayed better, hence masking, probably a major issue with the room. We were in room 221.

I stayed here for two nights with my kids. Our room had no air conditioning. The only thing they could offer us was a box fan. We all ate the breakfast that was served and we were all super sick after the fact, we all have been sick since Saturday morning after breakfast. I have probably over $600 in charges that they can’t explain to me on my card as well. I will not be back to this property and I would not recommend. I had another couple that stayed in another room and they said worst experience ever. The rate for this room is absolutely ridiculous. Not happy and I will be going over them if the charges are not taken off my card. I am a person that travels a lot and stays at a lot of hotels. I am not a complainer by any means and I believe this is the first review I have ever done as it has bothered me that much! Even when the air conditioner didn’t work we sucked it up but after checking out and seeing my card was charged over $600 I am not happy at all.

Our first room smelled like smoke, but we were moved immediately to a new room, which was greatly appreciated. However, in the new room, the air conditioner was extremely loud and seemed room seemed like it needed a dehumidifier. The breakfast, while free, left much to be desired.

I book Hampton Inns because I can typically expect the hotel to be clean and comfortable. The Hampton Inn in Batavia, NY was gross. I have lost faith in Hampton Inn. I can no longer assume all Hampton Inns are the same.
