Clean and spacious cabin retreat!
My three teens and I spent the Easter weekend here and had the best time. We loved that the property was large enough to hike around and we did several walks up the hill there. We even spotted a coyote one evening and several deer another morning. For being just off of Hwy 61, the property is actually so quiet and peaceful and I loved the peeks of lake you get out of the windows. The house was clean and well appointed. We were very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. The location is ideal. Quick drives to the state parks, local parks and so many things to do. We all agreed we want to come back in warmer weather, but the snowy weather offered plenty of adventures too! We visited Split Rock Lighthouse, Tettagouche, and Black Beach all while there. The sauna was an awesome addition that we didn't expect when we first booked, but we used and enjoyed it every day.

Great Location for all Seasons
This property is a great set-up for families, has all the amenities one could need, and the interior layout is super functional. If anyone is doubting only having one bathroom, don't give it another thought, you'll be fine as the current bathroom is large and centrally located. Location couldn't be better for any season or recreation. Book today!

Thanksgiving...and hiking.
The Trailshack allowed us to have a cozy, calm Thanksgiving close to all of our favorite hiking spots. My favorite part was walking through the land, or down West Road to the biking trail, and then on to the Superior Hiking Trail. We were able to make a nice Thanksgiving dinner. I loved waking up to see Superior out the window while drinking coffee. The Trailshack was cozy when the temperature dropped to 17 degrees F. Overall, I think it was a great place to relax while exploring the Great Outdoors on the North Shore.

Great cabin and location
We’ve stayed here before and would stay here again. Great location by many state parks, comfortable beds, responsive host, has amenities we appreciate like a dishwasher and washer and dryer, and a cozy feel to the interior.

Wonderful stay!
Clean, comfortable and cozy cabin. Much bigger than it appears from the outside or pictures. Well stocked kitchen and bathroom. Expansive upstairs great for multiple families or if traveling with kids. Loved that it was dog friendly. Sadly, I had to work a few days but the internet worked perfectly. Tucked away on a quiet, private road with nothing right nearby, but within close proximity to many parks and hiking.

Perfect location
This cabin was perfect for some fall hiking. Halfway up the north shore so you can go all the way north or down to duluth and its not too long of a drive. Nice quiet spot for our family to stay at.

Family retreat
The cabin is just as lovely as it looks online. Comfortable and spacious sleeping, eating, relaxing areas. We’re it not raining, we would have made use of the outdoor seating areas, too. Plenty of areas for hiking.

A must stay
This is an absolute must stay cabin!! It’s tucked away on a quiet road but is close to every park!! The cabin isn’t much to look at from the outside but the wood work is fabulous!! The outside fire pit area is perfect!! It will fit six people very well!! plenty of room very clean!! I would absolutely without a doubt highly recommend this cabin to everyone!! If we decide to do the north shore area again I would very much book my stay here!!

Nestled in the middle of all the North Shore has to offer!
Tucked right off the road, our little cabin was perfect for our family of six. The upstairs had plenty of room for our four girls with a bonus attached balcony for some pristine morning coffees. We loved the cozy living room with its fireplace. Puzzles, books, and games were much appreciated after our long hiking days. All our destinations were so close from our cabin! It really was in the middle of it all! Our kitchen was a great gathering space with the high top counter and high stools for our girls to sit and talk and eat. Truly an excellent find! Perfect location and comfort
The cabin was very comfortable and met all our needs. Even though we were right off hwy 61 it felt like we were all alone. We slept with windows open every night and were never disturbed by street sounds. The master bed was comfortable as was the family room. After hiking all day for 4 days we were very appreciative of comfort. The location was also perfect for our plans. We visited and hiked most of the parks from Gooseberry to Grand Portage. We did not mind driving that gorgeous hwy!

Best place!!
Best rental ever! Inside and out clean, well equipped with everything needed to cook, laundry, comfy beds, located by gorgeous trail heads and right by the lake. Check in and out simple, quick, and owners replied immediately. Great place!

Great location
Comfortable cabin included all of the needed items in the kitchen and bathroom. Lots of room upstairs if traveling with children, but we stayed downstairs as it was just the two of us. Comfortable king sized bed on the main floor. The cabin is located about halfway along the North Shore so it worked out nicely for us to take in all of the parks and beaches along the drive.

Absolutely perfect!
My family of four took a quiet, remote getaway for some relaxation and fishing on the north shore. This cabin was absolutely perfect. It looks small in the pictures, but there is *plenty* of room for four or more, as well as our large dog. My wife loved how clean everything was. You can tell that this place is well cared for. The master bed was convenient and comfortable. My teenagers loved having their own beds and plenty of space to spread out in the loft bedroom and 2nd bedroom upstairs. The wifi and TV worked great. The best thing I liked was that the inside of the cabin was completely renovated, but in a very rustic way. The cabinets and natural wood trim are really cool, we loved looking at them for all of the interesting textures. The kitchen is one of the best equipped that I've stayed in and everything worked flawlessly. The grounds of the cabin could use a little bit of cleanup and work, but we were notified that they were working on some landscaping so I have no complaints at all. The location is remote - you're on the middle of the north shore - but you're no more than 10 miuntes from a Silver Bay which has anything you might need. Hiking, fishing, biking, and all of that is very, very close by. You'll love this place!

Great place to make home for a week
The cabin had everything we needed, short hike or drive to a lot of great locations on North Shore. Was comfortable for my partner and I to work remotely and relax for the week. Bonus that it is dog friendly. Would highly recommend!

Perfect Snowmobiling Getaway
Beaver Bay Trail Shack was an excellent location for our snowmobiling trip on the shore! Easy trailer parking plus trail access just up the road made things very convenient. The cabin is cozy, clean, and well-stocked with necessities. More generous than most places we’ve stayed with towels, toilet paper, soap, etc. The internet worked great, and I was able to work a little during the week without any glitches. We were also able to connect our devices to the TV using AirPlay making it easy to stream our own entertainment. Finally, the property manager was very responsive with the few questions I sent to her. Very friendly! Truly felt like a guest at this property. Would absolutely stay again.

Snowmobile trip
Great place for a snowmobile trip! Plenty of room for our truck and trailer, it’s right on the trail, owner was great to work with, very clean property. Not much for restaurants near the house that are open during winter hours just be prepared to bring your own food or travel. We would definitely come back!

So relaxing!
Beautiful property! We stayed here over Christmas break for a visit with family. The location is convenient being right off Hwy 61 but still quiet. We had a bad storm with 60mph winds but the cabin was very cozy. Colleen responded promptly to our emails. We took advantage of the hills behind the cabin for toddler snowboarding and sledding for the bigger kids. We plan on staying again and have already recommended this property to others.

Biking and taking in the fall colors
My wife and I stayed 4 nights at the Beaver Bay Trail Shack. Great property for enjoying the Gitchi-Gami State Trail and Split Rock Wilds MTB trail. The property is clean and cozy. It was only the two of us and it was perfect. WiFi was great; > 600 Mbps download and >100 Mbps upload. I worked a far amount while up at the property and the connectivity was superb. Easy access to state parks and the Gitchi-Gami bike trail. Highly recommend this property for couples and small groups of up to 4 people. Only nit would be the single bathroom. But again, it's a cabin, not your home.

Best Little Secret.
Secluded just enough to be private, yet close stores if we needed something. Location was perfect for all of the places we wanted to see. Nice size. Plenty of supplies. More than we have ever seen at other places. First place that I know of that had two LP tanks for the grill, which worked great! We will stay there again. Thank you for a memorable stay. Modern cabin
A cabin feel with all the amenities, located right between Duluth and Grand Marais. The kids enjoyed their own space upstairs, and the high speed internet was enjoyed by all. Would definitely consider staying here again if in the area.

Great "shack"
The property was exactly what we needed for our short stay. Beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed. It wasn't a problem for us at all but some people might want to know that the upstairs bedrooms are connected....you walk through the queen bedroom to get to the room with the double and single beds. There is a door to close between the two room. We very much enjoyed our stay.

This was a perfect base camp along the North Shore that allowed us to explore things to the north and south. Our 2 teens were comfortable in the upstairs of the cabin. The kitchen had all of the supplies that we needed and the living space on the main level was comfortable.

Great base of operations!
This was a great place for us and our adult children to explore the North Shore. It is close to some of our favorite sites, such as Gooseberry Falls and Split Rock. The proximity to Silver Bay was also great for getting forgotten groceries. Communication with the owners was quick. A couple notes for future renters: the upper deck is accessed from the bedroom with the two single beds. The queen bed that is by the TV is at the top of the stairs, so no door separating that from the downstairs.

Perfect place to stay!
We loved the cabin! It had everything you could think of and more! The kitchen was abundantly stocked, rooms were comfortable and cozy, and the bathroom was modern and clean! The only drawback was having one bathroom for 5 people but we made it work. Otherwise the rest of the amenities were perfect. It's clean, easy access to Hwy 61 to explore the North Shore, well stocked with any kitchen item you would need(crock pot, blender, any utensil you would need). Communicating with the property manager was timely and efficient. This location would be great for families, and couples! You won't regret staying here!

Quick Stay UpNorth
The cabin was a good place to stay and pick up and go to all the surrounding state parks. I wouldn’t recommend for anyone with small children, there are a lot of sharp tools on the walls and the sticks in the corner were sharp and accessible for kids to get into. Otherwise, it had all the cooking utensils and good space for sleeping. Beds were nice, it would have been nice to have bath for the kiddo, but we made the shower work.

Lovely Property
This place was a beautifully maintained cabin with plenty of space for our whole family. We loved that it was Pet Friendly! The acres around the cabin were perfect for after dinner walks and to give our dogs some exercise. The views of Lake Superior from the back of the property were a bonus! The hosts were helpful with providing good local information and were very responsive to questions. We’d definitely stay here if we returned to the North Shore in the future.

Cozy Cabin
