Convenient, quiet location near Tienanmen SquarePosted Sep 16, 2013
Pros: The convenience to Tienanmen Square, the quiet street location, the courteousness of the staff and their flexibility.
Cons: For my short stay, very little. Maybe a small bottle of hair shampoo in the shower.
Location: The main attractions nearby center on what can be found in and around Tienanmen Square, including the Forbidden City and the Mao Zedong Mausoleum.
Because of a delay in my flight arrival from Shanghai, I was considerably later than expected getting to the hotel. However, the reception staff were most courteous and accommodating. The following morning I was meeting a friend in the lobby, and walking to Tienanmen Square and the Forbidden City. These awe-inspiring places are only 10-15 minutes' walk away, and because I was catching a train early in the afternoon, the hotel staff happily obliged me in taking care of my luggage until I returned from my walk. I am Australian, but I was grateful that at least some of the hotel staff spoke enough English to communicate. I liked my room, although the bed was a little harder than I'm used to, but I slept soundly nevertheless. I could not fault the cleanliness, but a small bottle of hair shampoo would have been useful in the shower.

Ideal for T square and the forbidden cityPosted Jul 7, 2013
Cons: It's in a communist country
Walk out the door, turn right then right, walk up the road for about 5 minutes then turn left and your at Tiananmen Square, that's the most important info you need. Good: 1.Location 2.Great restaurant in the building 3.Beds surprisingly not hard 4.Price Bad 1. Communist stupidity of the staff (couldn't fathom my passport visa valid from date wasn't expiration date) 2. Unnecessary 400rmb deposit needed 3. Crap attitude of the in hotel tourist information woman 4. Staff English level poor

Beware of the hotel travel deskPosted Jul 30, 2012 on Hotels.com
The hotel does not offer in-room wireless. If you want in-room internet, be prepared to pay and make sure you have a laptop or other device that can accept an ethernet connection. The hotel travel desk. I was there using the "free, slow internet" in the lobby. The staff came by and told me if I wanted to stay in that area (only place to sit down), I would have to buy something, so I ordered tea. When I left I found out it was 38 RMB! Then they hit me with another 10 RMB for service charge ! Look out for the rip-off.

great place to be if you know Chinese :PPosted Jun 21, 2012 on Hotels.com
There were some molds in the bathroom. Everything in the room had rates written on it, and it was all over priced. Overall nice place but I had hard time explaining things to the staff in English. I have a beard so all the staff people kept starring at it and mumbling in Chinese and chuckling aswell but that's all right, I don't really care haha.

Convenient location, mediocre roomsPosted Jun 12, 2012 on Hotels.com
The hotel was in a great location and within walking distance of Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. The rooms were decent. A little older overall, but pretty clean. The shower had great pressure, but wasn't designed very well so it got water all over the floor. Would definitely stay there again, especially for the price.

Except for 1 helpful reception staff, our stay at the hotel was just a place to sleep.... Even sleep was not comfortable cos the a/c in room was not working well despite reminders given the hotel staff to have it fixed.

Cons: Needs refurb and smke free environment in rooms
Location: Great location.
Feedback already given, but long and arduous task to get the rooms we booked and the condition expected, even then my daughter had to sleep in with my wife and I and at 15, she was not too happy.
