It is an easy 10 minute walk to the S-Bahn. We were very happy with the location. Beds were comfortable, right across from a bakery and 100 m from Kurfürsten Damm.

Room was neat and clean and good shower. Close to S bhan and buses to city centre.Had to wait for the receptionist to arrive for 15 minutes, as it is a family run hotel so it is good to tell the time of arrival in advance which I had but my flight got delayed and I arrived nearly an hr later than I had said I would. But receptionist was friendly and helpful when he finally arrived. BTW there is no breakfast even if it says breakfast included in the reservation. However there are plenty of cafe's and eating places nearby.

Hello, the hotel offers no breakfast since almost two years and you can't even book it on the site. There are a plenty of possibilites as you said close by

No elevators or elevators not working. Front desk not staffed and you may be lucky to find someone to help you. Entry Keys did not work and couldn't enter the building. Luckily it occurred during the day. Rugs on steps are torn in some place and are a tripping harzard. Room was spacious and clean

hello, please note we do not offer an elevator though there is one in the building. The building is not the hotel, the hotel occupies 3 floors only and the staircase unfortunately does not belong to the hotel either. We're operating with our keycard system since 2017 and there were no problems at all with it. Just ask us if there is something unclear. There is a phone hanging next to the hotel entrance with which you can reach us the most time of the day 08:00 - 22:00.

Only thing going about this hotel is the location off Ku'Damm. But the filthy carpets and tattered towels and uncomfortable mattresses make you wonder if its worth staying here - despite the costs.

Worst hotel experience
Hotel is pretty old, room not comfortable at all and if you don't have ear plugs with you it's impossible to sleep due to the street noises. Breakfast was horrible, rotten fruits and cold coffee. But worst part was a woman (with obvious mental problems) who was harassing the guests with a huge dog, making a scene at midnight and the owners didn't do anything about it.

The hotel is in the upper floors of a building from the 1890s, with all that implies: 12 foot ceilings, decorated with moldings etc:I like it, but it is clearly not the hotel for people who prefer the modernity of a holiday inn. The elevator is a historic piece where one still has to close outer and inner door by hand; it is allowed for four persons, but really just the right size for one person and his luggage. I found the single room very convenient for me, and the location is also very convenient, a few steps from Ku'damm and bus 109 to the Tegel airport. However, there are some points of criticism: mainly that the person handling the check-in was quite slow; before me were teachers checking a school class in, and I spent twenty minutes waiting in the check-in queue. The elevator was one day out of service, and the hallway leading to the hotel-room is (especially after the big staircase) a narrow dark cave winding to the rooms: it needs at least better light.

We spent 3 days in Berlin. The hotel is very old, older than we thought it would be. The elevator was a struggle to figure out how to work. The breakfast was ok. The weather was unusually hot and there is no air conditioning. The area is good, very close to the fancy Kurfürstendamm, but far away from historical sites so we had to take taxis. Overall was ok.

Great value, great location
Please ignore the complaints that the Televisions are small and the decore is old fashioned. The staff are friendly the rooms are large and airey. Sound insulation is good as there was some noisy people next to me and once I shut the door I could not hear a word. It is a family run hotel so none of the corporate blandness you get with chains. The lift is really old from 1904 and has a wooden seat which always made me smile. It is only 4 minutes walk from the S Bahn. For me it was a good find.

Lovely rooms with high ceilings, an original sweeping staircase and lift with the old-style metal gates. The staff were helpful and there was a generous breakfast. Close to Savingy Platz station, in a relaxed corner of Berlin: shaded tree lined squares, cafes on the cobbled pavements and a nice atmosphere.

The location was nice. Restaurants near by. The hotel is a old building and it was good for 4 people to stay in one room. Large room but very tiny bathroom. The breakfast buffet was good . Something for everyone.

Comfortable, friendly hotel in an excellent location. The hotel is in an old building with high ceilings and a delightful lift. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes and icecream parlours nearby. The Sbahn is just up the road and you can get to the hotel direct from Schoenefeld airport on the S9 train. We had a lovely stay, so glad we chose this hotel to soak up the atmosphere.

Staffs were so so so friendly and very helpful! Breakfasts were good and the hotel located in a nice location easy to travel around with public transportations, 2-3 mins walk to the sky train and the bus stop, 5-6 mins to the tube, the elevator at the hotel was broken for my whole trip but that's ok, the hotel is a bit old but nice and clean, my room was big and has a balcony to smoke (room 40) the floor all over the hotel makes sound all the time but I guess that's alright

Fantastic location at low price
Great location - less than a half a block from Kurfurstendamm. Bus to/from Tegel airport stops at the corner. Hotel was very affordable. It is an older hotel but does have a small elevator. The room was basic but fine on the third floor. Had a view to the courtyard and was very quiet. Bathroom was OK. WiFi worked fine. TV was small but acceptable. Breakfast was good. For the price and location, this is a great choice.

Best location.
The location right off the Kudamm, which is the best in Berlin, I think. The Kudamm is the Rodeo Drive of Berlin. High end stores, super wide side walks, trees, glitz and the ritz, tons of good restaurants are here. The hotel is 3 blocks from the S-bahn line S3 with cuts right through Berlin connecting all the spots tourists want to see, like Potsdamer Platz with its malls, and Friedrichstrasse with check point charly and the bunker every American wants to see. Plus the S-bahn is above ground, offering a view of the city and is a lot cleaner then the subway which is getting pretty seedy these days. Now the hotel is a throw back to the Berlin of the divided city, the spy days, etc. The owner bought up what used to be high end apartments in the last centuries and combined them into a 'hotel'. Unusual, but you have to do some detective work the first time you check in. Hopefully it's not at night. If so, then look for the right light on the left, right after getting buzzed in, press it and the stairway lights up, and also the sign that directs you the the reception apartment where the check-in desk is. Cool, just like in a movie from the cold war days. Can't beat the price, for the location it is a sensation. Berlin has far more reasonable hotel prices anyway, but this one is a steal. Hotel room was quiet, oriented towards the inner courtyard. I'll stay here again.

The hotel located very close to bus station 109 which brings you to airport door. The room was very clean but windows need paint. The huge con is an elevator. At 3:30 in the morning it is dark, hard to find light switch and elevator did not work because someone did not close elevator doors properly. I had to carry my luggage downstairs and fell.

No complimentary shuttle--otherwise fantastic!
Loved the neighborhood, the hotel, the breakfast, helpfulness of the staff. The only reason for a lesser rating is the incorrect information in the listing about the shuttle. When we booked, we booked largely based on the availability of a complimentary shuttle. There is not one. You can book one 5 days ahead, for a fee, but a taxi is cheaper--that's how we arrived. When we left, we used the city bus--very convenient from this location. Would definitely stay again.
