“Fabulous Location”
This hotel is in one of the best neighborhoods in Berlin. It's modern, European small rooms, but very efficient. The only criticism I might have is that the staff at the desk could use more training in the usual concierge services. They were very nice, but did not appear to "know" a lot about the restaurants nearby and had to look them up online. Otherwise, it was a great place.
“Berlin Rocks!”
The hotel is great. There is a florist as well as deli attached to the hotel. Brunch can be expensive but you can get eggs, bacon, toast, and milch caffe for a very reasonable price and it is a great way to start your day. The staff is extremely helpful and always courtesous.
“Bleibtreu, nice hotel (but should be in Prenzlauer Berg)”
Bleibtreu Hotel is listed in the book 1000 things to see before you die. Although we would not go so far it is definitely a nice hotel. A charming place where I think almost everybody should feel comfortable. Breakfast gave us a good start into the day. Good middleclass. Kurfürstendamm is not a good place for tourists, though, except if you like a boilerplate experience (being someone more attracted to Prenzlauer Berg area, as I found out). So Bleibtreu is a perfect hotel for business trips, I guess.
“Nice boutique-style hotel in a quiet part of town”
I have stayed here a number of times. The breakfast buffet is great - although if you book through one of the online services like Expedia, it is not included. The rooms are classy, mod, designy, the leave an apple in your room - the sort of boutique hotel thing. Very clean, friendly - good for business travelers or a romantic outing but I would not recommend it for families. It is in the West side of town near the Ku'dam and not far from Savigny Platz u-bahn station - lots of restaurants and little stores around. One drawback - common in European hotels - shower curtain does not prevent water from getting all over the floor in the bathrooms. You would think that this problem is solvable!
“Nice boutique hotel, not too expensive, great breakfast”
Nice boutique hotel with all of the mod fittings. They have a literary theme and authors in residence and this time I was given a free book (German translation of Vargas Llosa). The people who work there are nice and helpful. The breakfast buffet is great - good breads, an assortment of loose tea, smoked salmon, cheeses, and you can order omlettes and such. It is in a quiet neighborhood with loads of restaurants and cute shops in the west near Savignyplatz and the Ku'dam so very good for getting around by s-bahn or bus. Very nice for a good price.
