Checked in and was informed the hotel's airconditioner was not working (late June) and that complimentary water was the substitute. There almost never was water available as they originally claimed though. Stay somewhere closer to center for the money you pay to stay here.

Great Stay
The Berlin City West Hotel was a classic Ibis experience. Everything works as it should, check in is easy, the staff are friendly, parking was obviously signposted and bringing our dog was simple. Staff were great with any issues we had and checkout was quick and efficient. We would definitely stay again.

Very friendly hotel!
The hotel was very clean and tidy, on arrival we were early to check in but they were very helpful and we were able to check in early which made our day much better with exploring!

This hotel is not in the city center but it is around 300 meters away from the subway station which makes traveling around the city a breeze.

The building looks modern from the outside. The decor of the rooms themselves is somewhat dated. The carpet in my room was dung coloured, and the external bathroom wall painted in a very similar (uninviting) colour. There was a most unpleasant odours in the room when we arrived, and we soon realised that this came from the basin in the bathroom. The only way to stop this (or reduce it(, was to leave the plug in the basin and block the overflow vent. In other respects the room was acceptable.

Looks like it's not had any money spent on it in a long time - old rooms with smelly toilets. Otherwise the room was clean. The room was uncomfortably warm, making it difficult to sleep (in early April) and when asked, staff said various unconvincing things about the aircon only being able to blow hot or cold air (and warm was better than cold supposedly) and there being no engineer available to turn the aircon on... I suspect the real reason was probably cost related. One of the two lifts also not working meaning long waits. All in all, pretty disappointing and not good value for a hotel which is far from the centre of Berlin.

IBIS Hotel Berlin West June 2018 - Worst Hotel
My husband and I are travelling through Europe. When we arrived we were greeted with a lovely young girl, but that is when the friendliness stopped, from then on the staff did not smile at us once and only said hello when we approached them. We were asked to re-use our towels, if we wanted a bathrobe we had to go downstairs and organise it. There were 2 lifts and 1 was broken , it took so long that we had to use the stairs -FROM THE 6TH FLOOR, !! Regardless of this we loved Berlin and decided to extend our stay, when I rang reception to do this the girl said she was too busy and to organise it in the morning, there were conferences on and I was concerned that we woulnt have a room. The girl assured us there were plenty rooms left. When I went to reception in the morning I have never been treated with such contempt in my life ! I was told the Hotel was booked out and when I said the girl last night said there were plenty of rooms left- she checked again and then quoted a price of euro 110 when there was a rate of euro 61 advertised out the front.!! Again not one friendly gesture. I discovered my wallet was missing and I was trying to contact the bank to stop my credit card. The phone in the room was not working. I went downstairs to reception and explained my situation and was told that I need to pay upfront to use the phone, I had no money!!and on top of that it was a freecall. The same woman said I can go to the bank in the morning and do it then. Terrible service. RUDE

The hotel is very well run, spotlessly clean and friendly. As you would expect from a 2 star (Superior), the rooms are small and simple, but comfortable and quiet. Our bathroom had an excellent shower.Staff are friendly and helpful. We chose this Ibis for its proximity to a venue we needed to attend. Its location proved to be perfect, and it is easy walking distance from an underground station of the U3 line, which takes you straight into the centre of town in 15 minute. Very good value for a short stay.

Good hotel if you don't plan on spending much time here. Quiet and comfy. As we stayed three nights we did miss having extras like tea coffee facilities and fridge in room. Great links to public transport. Very helpful staff in morning and evening.

Really enjoyed my stay at the IBIS. The hotel offers great rooms, friendly staff and great access to the public transport system. Breakfast is a little pricey at €11 but lots of good bakery's and local stores near by.

I stayed in this hotel for a week for a business trip. It was a very simple hotel, but the bed was comfortable and there was a desk. The staff was very helpful and spoke English. There are a lot of good restaurants in the area and a great coffee shop around the corner. It is only a block from the Ubahn station so you can get anywhere pretty quickly.

I stayed here because it was close to the Ubahn (3), decent hotel. Breakfast was steep for the basics. Small bar and friendly enough service. No minifridge or plugs near the bedside, which was slightly inconvenient.

This Ibis featured the usual fixtures and minimalist, but satisfactory guest comforts. However, they appeared to be understaffed and the food and beverage service could be improved.

A great deal.
We planned to do day trips in/out of Berlin over a few weeks and the Ibis at Berlin City West was our home base. The staff were helpful and the room was basic but super clean. Air conditioning and Wifi were our must-haves but the friendly staff made this a wonderful experience. It's in a safe neighbourhood, very close to the U-Bahn and a "short trip" to S-Bahn. Local coffee shops, grocer, and restaurants make is unnecessary to have b'fast at the site but we did enjoy the b'fast on a Sunday and it was good.

Best IBIS hotel ever
All the staffs are really friendly and helpful. I brought a SIM card, but registration is required and all the information was German, the staff helped me to translate those information and helped me to activate the card..Really friendly staffs. Also, the room is quite clean. I would definitely recommend this hotel in Berlin.

Fine, but no more than that.
It was fine - staff OK, room OK, location OK - but no more than that. The room had a very comfortable bed and good shower, but there were no tea & coffee making facilities and the only plug socket was half way up a wall (!) which made charging things and working in the room difficult. Wi-fi v. unreliable in the room too, even for the paid for version. Staff were helpful on the whole, but occasionally surly for more difficult requests (i.e. dinner recommendations). Location wise, the hotel is 2 mins away from the tube and buses, so very easy to get into town, but there is very little in the immediate area for dinner and drinks etc. In summary, the hotel is fine, but I'm sure there are better for the price.
