Beautiful setting
Excellent property for our party of 2 couples. Nicely presented and maintained. Wonderful experience watching the hot air balloons rise from the morning mist. The steps to the bedrooms could be a negative for some as they are very narrow but the property description gives you a good idea of what to expect before you book. The setting is extremely rural and you'd need a car. We wouldn't hesitate to book again or recommend.

Absolutely Perfect Holiday
We are a family with grown up children in their 20’s and 30’s. We holiday in the Dordogne every summer, and always find a different location to stay in. This year I can honestly say has been an absolute gem of a holiday. The cottage is perfect- so clean and homely with everything you could possibly need. The owners are warm and kind, attentive to any need and extremely discreet. The location is just beautiful- overlooking the Dordogne valley with stunning views. Watching the hot air balloons morning and evening is a joy to behold. We felt so relaxed and chilled during our stay, and loved the wildlife around us. The swifts and sparrows were very entertaining, we saw deer, badgers, bats and frogs all within a mile of the property. The Hoopoe Bird was often present singing away- he was stunning, and the owner brought his pony and donkey to graze a few times in the garden below the house. It was just bliss. The stairs to the bedrooms are spiral, and you get used to them quickly- they add to the character of the house. Definitely the cleanest and best presented property we have stayed in. The bbq is brilliant and very easy to clean. I am sure we will return. I can honestly say that everything was perfect!

Superb location for a stay in the Dordogne
Lovely property with 2 outside terraces so shade always possible. Swimming pool to cool off if it’s hot and very pretty interior. Spiral stairs might be a problem for those with walking difficulties. The views from the terrace across to Beynac Castle are amazing and location is very quiet.

The house has the charm of old houses but with all the modern comforts and with this incredible view of the valley and the castles below. The photos on the website highlight the spiral stairs so it is not a surprise for our guests who rent. We know that people with disabilities, who are too old or obese cannot rent our house.

Incredible 7 days in this gorgeous villa. Like others had said the stairs would not be good for people with mobility issues as spiral and steep but we were fine with our 8 year old children Lovely stay, so peaceful and the pool was fantastic during hot hot weather.

A fabulous house with incredible views across the valley from all of the outside areas. Having breakfast, or dinner in the evening, watching the balloons fly over the castle and river is probably worth the rental cost alone.. The pool is perfectly sized, very clean and a pleasure to come back to after a day's sightseeing. There is a lovely shaded dining and BBQ area under the pergola next to the pool which we used most evenings. The house has been beautifully decorated and furnished whilst retaining it's old-world charm and character, and has all the amenities that could possibly need. Situated in a lovely little hamlet just outside Beynac we found the house provided the perfect compromise between being ideally situated for day trips out to all the attractions but also an oasis to escape to after a busy day. As other reviews have described, the spiral stairs to the bedrooms are quite steep and that's something you may wish to consider if you have mobility difficulties. The owner Catherine was absolutely charming and very helpful during our stay, on hand to meet us on arrival and answer any questions but also very discreet. I'd thoroughly recommend a stay at this lovely house.

This lovely property suited us ideally. The position is really beautiful with lovely panoramic views of the Dordogne valley enhanced by hot air balloons taking off in early mornings & evenings.It is too far to walk to Beynac & probably too hilly to cycle! It is of course a real tourist trap & we were fortunate we were perhaps before the full busy season had established. It is well placed to do all the usual sightseeing etc. It is very comfortable and well appointed and ideally suited to two couples as in our case. The swimming pool is not large but very clean and lovely for cooling dips. There are lovely eating & relaxation areas suited for al times of the day.There is a proper built in BBQ which is easy to use. The air conditioning was very much appreciated in the bedrooms but the solid construction of the house means the downstairs is cool also.. The kitchen is well appointed & the house has been renovated and decorated sympathetically. Perhaps the only minor downside was having to go downstairs for the bathrooms. Catherine the owner is very helpful & attentive & made us feel most welcome. Fully recommend & many thanks to the owners for a lovely week’s stay. We would certainly go back. The cottage was superb and well equipped. The village was so peaceful and we had a wonderful holiday. The stairs up to rooms were very tight particularly with suit cases and not suitable for older and young people

This is a lovely characterful property in an amazing setting.
The views of the valley from the terrace and balcony are unbelievable. We really enjoyed having our breakfast watching the hot air balloons rise above Beynac. The property has been renovated with care and has lots of character. It is very clean and everything was in good working order. Catherine was very helpful and ensured we had everything we needed. We had a lovely holiday and this is a great house if you are looking for peace and tranquillity. Worth noting that there are 2 sets of spiral stairs so not ideal for those with mobility challenges. Overall, highly recommended and we plan to return!

A charming property in a beautiful location.
We had a fantastic week in the Dordogne staying at this property. The house is full of French, rustic charm with everything you would need for your stay. It is situated in a sleepy, little hamlet, just what we wanted, and the views from the property over the surrounding countryside and Beynac castle are absolutely stunning. We would most definitely recommend staying here and hope, very much, to return one day.

Cazenac is a very quiet hamlet ideal for lovers of beautiful views and walk in the forest because all around there are many hiking trails. Beynac is very close, all the beautiful villages and castles nearby.

Lovely property in an amazing location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property and made great use of the outdoor space as the weather was very hot. Fabulous views and clear night skies and such a peaceful location in a small hamlet. We were a party of 5 adults and had plenty of indoor space, the house being clean, modern and comfortable.

A beautiful property with magnificent views over the Dordogne valley and Beynac.
A little further away from the local town than we anticipated, but set in a very pretty, quiet hamlet. We were welcomed by Mary, a friend of the owner, who was familiar with the property and the surrounding area. She was able to guide us round the property and point out some of the local points of interest. The owner did welcome us and was on hand if we had any concerns. The pool, spacious patio area was ideal for the hot sunny weather we experienced at the start of the holiday. We enjoyed using the BBQ and eating on the terrace which was in full sun at breakfast and ideal for star gazing in the night time. The kitchen was used by us quite a lot as we enjoy cooking and perhaps could have been better equipped with cooking/serving utensils. We had to wait 20 minutes or so for the coffee to filter and after using the dishwasher found that some of the crockery still needed washing further. There are lots of places of interest to visit, walking trails are sign posted in the lanes and woodland around the property. We would happily recommend this property to others.

Lovely house and perfect for exploring the Dordogne
The house is exactly as pictured, has a well-equiped brand new kitchen, is immaculate, and has an incredible view of rolling hills, chateaus and the Dordogne River. It was the perfect location to explore the caves, chateaus, and charming towns like Beynac and Dome. Catherine was very nice and the house was ready with linens and a detailed book with suggested restaurants and things to see and do. Highly recommend staying here and would happily go back!

Beautiful and tranquil
Another fantastic holiday in beautiful Beynac-et-Cazenac. We stayed here last year, and a repeat visit did not disappoint! There have been some wonderful renovations which makes the kitchen nice and bright. The pool is perfect and great for hot summer weather. And again our favourite part of the day - evening drinks on the balcony watching the hot air balloons over the stunning countryside. We were not ready to leave! Thank you again Catherine for a wonderful stay.

Quiet and clean, with great views!
We highly recommend this house with a swimming pool, on a hilltop outside Beynac. The photos are accurate, and the home is clean, tidy, and well-stocked for any cooking, if you decide not to eat at all the wonderful restaurants. Our family with two teenagers very much enjoyed the swimming pool on the hot July days, and the quiet of the house provided a peaceful and relaxing vacation setting. We enjoyed going canoeing on the river, exploring nearby castles at Beynac and Castlenaud, touring Roffignac and Lascaux II caves to see prehistoric cave art, and eating at several of the fabulous restaurants recommended by Catherine. Thanks so much for hosting us!

Cazenac is a very quiet place near all the tourist spots (castles, caves, villages, gardens, markets, ....). I provide a notebook in which people can find all the good places to eat, ..... the day of arrival I give them full of useful tips.

Traumhaus in herrlich ruhiger Lage
Wir hatten zu zweit einen wunderbaren Urlaub in diesem authentischen Haus im Herzen des schwarzen Perigord. Das alte Haus ist mit viel Liebe und Sorgfalt renoviert und eingerichtet. Gegebenheiten der historischen Bausubstanz wurden intelligent und kreativ an die heutige Nutzung angepasst, ohne den Charakter des Hauses zu zerstören. Die Schlafräume unter dem Dach sind klimatisiert, was bei Tagestemperaturen um 35 Grad auch nötig war. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet und die Geräte funktionieren alle sehr gut, es gibt sogar einen ordentlichen sauberen Staubsauger, was ich in anderen Häusern oft vermisst habe… Der Balkon bietet einen atemberaubenden Blick auf das Tal der Dordogne, der Pool ist sehr gut gepflegt und der Sitzplatz unter dem Weinlaub ist auch in der Mittagshitze ein angenehmer Aufenthaltsort. Die Gastgeber sind äußerst freundlich und man merkt dem ganzen Anwesen an, dass es von den Eigentümern vor Ort gepflegt wird. Wir können einen Aufenthalt in diesem Haus wärmstens empfehlen!

C'est notre deuxième séjour dans cette formidable maison. Nous sommes revenus et nous reviendrons pour toutes ces bonnes raisons : Une région magnifique et une maison exceptionnelle. Elle présente tous les ingrédients pour un bon séjour avec enfants (poney et âne dans le pré à côté, piscine idéale pour des baignades en toute sécurité, de l'espace si le temps se couvre, etc.). Un immense merci à Catherine, Jean Manuel et leurs petits enfants pour leur grande gentillesse et le formidable séjour. A l'année prochaine :)

We passed a perfect stay in that lovely and charming house. The interior chosen very carefully with lovely details. Interior and exterior with a lot of nice places to relax, the only deficultiy ist to find out, which is the best of.. Perfect location with a unforgettable view on the landscape. Absolutly quiet up there perfect to get back after an impressive day, discovering the spots around, which are easy to reach in short distance. The hosts Cathy and Manu are that kind sympathic, that we got the feeling, beeing there among friends. Shure will come back : Not more to tell yo than : Paradise found.

Tranquillité et idéalement situé.
Le gîte est idéalement situé dans un petit hameau typique du Périgord Noir. La vue panoramique sur les châteaux de Beynac et Castelnaud depuis les deux terrasses du gîte est magique. Rien ne manque dans ce logement parfaitement rénové. Tout petit bémol pour les personnes à mobilité réduite pour lesquelles un gîte de plain-pied sera plus commode.

Fantastique semaine dans le Perigord - Maison de rêve
Nous avons passé une semaine formidable dans une maison tout simplement merveilleuse. Une vue exceptionnelle qui fait se sentir immédiatement en vacances, la piscine était parfaite pour se rafraichir (format idéal pour jeunes enfants). La maison était fraiche malgré les chaleurs et très facile à vivre (commerce proche / entretien facile / bien pensée). Un petit âne et un petit poney dans le pré voisin que les enfants ont adoré câliner. Un grand merci à Catherine et à son mari pour les conseils restos, visites et itinéraires (on a évité Bordeaux et nous n'avons presque pas eu d'embouteillage pour rejoindre la Bretagne / MERCI ) et leur très grande gentillesse. Tous les ingrédients étaient réunis pour passer des vacances formidables. Nous avons adoré le coin et la maison. Une adresse à garder précieusement :) Merci ! Claire

Je pense que vous n’avez pas compris l’esprit de la maison de charme typique du Périgord. Pour ne pas avoir d’escaliers pensez à louer la prochaine fois un pavillon de plain-pied insipide

Après une année Covid si compliquée, ce séjour a été pour nous une véritable bouffée d’oxygène. La maison est magnifique et la piscine est très appréciable. La vue est époustouflante. Splendide demeure !
Photos conformes à la réalité. Propriétaires très accueillants. Une maison au charme indéniable typique de la région. Depuis la piscine nous avons une vue dégagée sur la vallée. La climatisation est un vrai plus, surtout par forte chaleur. Cuisine très bien équipée. Même si la maison est à 10km de Sarlat, sa localisation la rend proche de tout. Nous avons été charmé par cette maison.

Un écrin au coeur du Perigord Noir
La maison est splendide, authentique (pierre, bois...) et parfaitement bien rénovée. On s'y sent tout de suite très bien. Située dans le petit village de Cazenac qui surplombe la vallée au-dessus de Beynac, la maison offre une vue dégagée sur la campagne aux abords de la Dordogne, ainsi que sur le château de Beynac. Catherine est aux petits soins et regorge de bons conseils sur les très nombreuses activités ou restaurants alentours. Excellente adresse !

Une maison extrêmement bien placée pour découvrir les beautés de la région. L’accueil, la propreté, une très belle maison avec une vue extra et apaisante dans un hameau très calme. Les bords de Dordogne sont magnifiques. Nous avons fait plein d’activités dans un rayon de 45 minutes maximum (gouffre, Lascaux, canoë, marché de sarlat, parc aquatique...). Bref, tout était top !

La maison est superbe, la vue est magnifique. Le spectacle des montgolfières presque tous les soirs dans la vallée. Ma fille de 10 ans a bien profité de la piscine. La maison est idéalement située proche de bcp de lieux à visiter. La propriétaire est très accueillante et disponible. Nous recommandons cette jolie demeure.

Charmant gite surplombant la vallée de la Dordogne. Décoré avec goût et bien équipé. Très calme et idéalement situé pour visiter la région . Très bon accueil de la part des propriétaires. Dommage que l on n est pas pu bien profiter de la piscine en raison des températures fraîches la nuit .

Erholsamer Urlaub in gepflegtem Ambiente
Die Beschreibung des Hauses und der Wohnung ist zutreffend. Die Räume sind gut ausgestattet, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Etwas beschwerlich ist das Erreichen der oberen Etage mit den Schlafräumen über die schmalen Wendeltreppen. Das Haus liegt ruhig in einem kleinen Weiler, ca. 3 KM vom Ortskern Beynac entfernt. Die Sitz- und Liegemöglichkeiten um den Pool herum sind gepflegt und laden zum Verweilen ein. Von der Terrasse des Hauses hat man einen wunderschönen Ausblick in die Umgebung. Die Vermieterin ist sehr freundlich und wohnt ganz in der Nähe des Hauses. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten des Périgord lassen sich von dem Objekt aus gut mit dem Auto erreichen. Wir haben uns in dem Haus sehr wohlgefühlt und empfehlen es als Urlaubsquartier gerne weiter. Brigitte und Bernhard aus Dortmund

Magnifique propriété avec vue panoramique sur la vallée de Dordogne.
La résidence est située dans un cadre magnifique, au cœur de la nature, dans le calme le plus total, l’idéal pour se ressourcer. La maison offre toutes les prestations, et est très bien équipée. Tout est fait pour passer un très agréable séjour. Un très bon accueil des propriétaires qui nous ont orienté pour la découverte de la région. Un grand merci pour ce séjour.

Belle prestation
Nous avons passé une excellente semaine dans cette demeure au milieu des châteaux de la Dordogne. Les prestations de la maison sont très bien et l emplacement permet de se reposer au bord de la piscine. Les adresses recommandées par les propriétaires sont très bien. Ma fille a été conquise avec l âne et la ponette su elle ne voulait plus quitter.

Nous mettons à disposition dans la maison un cahier dans lequel sont mentionnés tous les sites à visiter, les restaurants que nous connaissons, les marchés, les bonnes adresses afin que nos locataires ne perdent pas de temps à chercher surtout pour un séjour d'une semaine. Les enfants qui logent dans la maison sont toujours très heureux de faire la connaissance de Pony la ponette et Andréo le petit âne que nous leur amenons dans le jardin près de la maison lorsqu'ils en font la demande.

Also als erstes : Die Vermieterin ist sehr nett, die Gegend toll, das Haus ein Traum. Aber : Man sollte vielleicht wissen, dass die schicken Wendeltreppen nicht absolut tauglich sind für schweres oder größeres Gepäck geschweige denn für eventuell dickere oder Personen mit orthopädischen Einschränkungen. (sehr eng). Ansonsten wirklich gepflegt und z.B. neue Küche und auch im Gesamteindruck einzigartig (Ausblick!) . Auch Konflikte z.B. Zahlung mit fewo direkt konnten zeitnah mit der Vermieterin geklärt werden. Die Gegend ist wie gesagt toll, gute Restaurants etc. Wir hatten es sehr schön ! Das Wetter ist dieses Jahr ja nicht so toll, dafür kann ja keiner was, aber der Pool und die Sitzbereiche sind schon was Besonderes. Und nicht zu vergessen, der ruhige Weiler, wo noch jeder jedem vertraut...heutzutage keine Selbstverständlichkeit mehr... Aber wie gesagt mit meinem vielem Gepäck (Frankreichrundfahrt) und Rücken-und Knieproblemen leider leichte Einschränkungen. Und erstmal der Schock,dass die Zahlung nicht vollständig erfolgt sei, aber das ließ sich ja wie bereits gesagt schnell klären... War ja auch auf die Kürze, also immer wieder..mit weniger Gepäck, denn es ist ja eine Waschmaschine da !!! War schon sehr schön und wir wären gerne noch da !!!

Wunderschöne Ferienwohnung mit traumhafter Aussicht
Die Ferienwohnung befindet sich in einem 300 Jahre alten, traditionellen Steinhaus und ist sehr liebevoll renoviert und eingerichtet. Der Ort Langlade besteht aus wenigen Häusern und liegt inmitten einer traumhaften Landschaft mit beeindruckender Aussicht. Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. In der Nähe gibt es viele Burgen, Höhlen bzw. Grotten, mittelalterliche Städtchen und viele andere Ausflugsziele. Das Tal der Dordogne ist mehr als nur eine Reise wert. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und möchten gerne wiederkommen.

Nous avons été ravis d'accueillir ce couple et leurs enfants, ils ont beaucoup apprécié la région et notre maison. Ils ont fait de nombreuses photos des ânes à proximité de la maison et des jardins fleuris. Bien qu'ils aient préféré prendre le forfait ménage, la maison était rangée, les poubelles vidées, ce sont des personnes très respectueuses que nous aurons toujours grand plaisir à accueillir de nouveau !
