The room that we were allocated on arrival was near the main reception and restaurant, which was good. The room, in my opinion consisted of basic accommodation and did not live up to "5*" standard which was advertised. The room did have air conditioning which made our stay more pleasurable. The food was very good and they did provided a varied menu, which we enjoyed. However the majority of staff were very unhelpful and it seemed to be a "chore" for them when asking for advice or assistance. The resort location was good from the point of view that it was right on the beach and they had a choice of pools for places to sunbathe. However, it was very isolated and there were no shops, bars etc to visit nearby. There was a shuttle bus available at a cost if you wanted to venture out further. The hotel, as a whole was nice enough, but was beginning to look "tired". There were several restaurants and pool bars that were closed for the duration of the holiday. The hotel entertainment was almost non-existent and on a few occasions in the week was totally absent! The most disappointing event of the holiday was when the hotel reception/bar area was transformed into stalls for an exhibition/conference and was invaded by people in business suits, leaving us feeling very uncomfortable in our beach wear! MORTIFIED!
