We had a pleasant stay at the Clifton Hotel. Managed to park just around the corner, pleasant welcoming reception and cafe area in the hotel. Great position for Clifton and Park Street. Lovely buildings in the area. All accessible on foot from the hotel. The room was pleasant and clean, had all we needed. Bathroom clean and adequate. Good to have heating we could control in bedroom. Would definitely stay again - very reasonable rates for location and standard of accommodation.

We had a wonderful stay at the Clifton. The pub downstairs was also fabulous with good food and fun.

“Great Hotel”

great location, walking distance to many of the good areas of Bristol/Clifton. Would not hesistate to stay there again. Rooms are simple and plain, but comfortable and spotless. A word of caution though, this is a very traditional, typical British hotel. American travellers seeking the full amenities of an American chain should stay away.

“Friendly, simple, comfortable”

This hotel is inexpensive without feeling cheap. It's a lovely old Clifton town house with small, pleasantly furnished rooms. It's basically done but very comfortable, with a few little touches that really lift it - such as cafetieres and real coffee in the rooms. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and the hotel benefits from a night porter and outdoor bar so it's perfect for a quiet late-night drink. The hotel also has a few smoking rooms, which may whiff unsurprisingly, but are very much appreciated!

“Lovely Inn”

This small hotel was very big on value and service. The restaurant is excellent! A charming, well-equipped hotel within walking distance of museums and shopping.

“Reasonable and comfortable but not quite swish”

Very well located, polite staff and a pleasant if rather small room. Coffee, biscuits and fruit provided in room which was a nice touch. Bathrooms were pretty dated but worked! Overall, good value for money and an enjoyable place to stay, but not quite swanky enough if you're trying to impress.

“Great atmosphere!”

The hotel is part of a very nice bar/restaurant/music venue and, well, I know its not for everyone, but I quite enjoyed having quite a lot of people around, particularly as I was travelling by myself. The hotel is very nicely decorated, although in need of some maintenance. I will certainly be going back.

“Basic but in a good location”

The Clifton Hotel is not an exclusive hotel as it has a busy bar in its ground. Therefore, noisy is heard until late night. The hotel, however, is good overall and is located in a very good area and near to the University. The room was quite small but comfortable. The breakfast (an extra) was very basic.

Great location and affordable price in the lovely Clifton area. Friendly staff made the stay even more pleasant.
