Centrally locatedPosted Oct 16, 2013
Pros: WiFi in the room
Cons: The access to the hotel rooms
Location: Very well located in the European quarter
The hotel is well located vis-à-vis the office of the Commission and Council, however it has an annoying policy of charging for breakfast at 27€ a pop. The price is not commensurate with the quality of the breakfast. The other annoying aspect of the hotel is the long corridor and the fact that the ground floor is one floor below the street exit of the hotel. Therefore, one needs to bring the luggage down a long corridor and up one flight of stairs before one can exist the hotel.

Handy for the MetroPosted Aug 28, 2013
Pros: Pleasant public areas and staff.
Cons: Some refurbishment is required (the room safes in all of our three rooms were broken), breakfasts are a bit pricey and TVs in the rooms are a bit old.
Location: Close to the European administration buildings and the metro and in an area with a few nice pubs and restaurants nearby. Only four metro stops from Ce
Not bad but not the best. Clean and comfortable. Underground car parking available but expensive. Hotel couldn't provide car hire.

Great for business or leisure breakPosted Aug 20, 2013
Location: Adjacent to Schuann station and the metro network.
We have stayed at the Silken before and this occasion has been no different. Perfect location for touring Brussels as a holiday maker or for a base if on business. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. As before hotel parking is a bit of a squeeze if you are driving a larger vehicle and the carpets in the rooms we have stayed in could do with a deep clean, apart from that the hotel is superb and as such we will be staying again in a few months time.

Rooms were badly cleanedPosted Aug 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
The room given was quite smelly, so we looked for a replacement room. Receptionist could have been friendlier and more customer focused as she almost didn't believe us. The replacement room smelt a little musty though it wasn't as bad as the first one and leaving the windows open helped. On the second day, the room was not cleaned, so we complained to the duty manager who was more helpful and had it sorted out.

Great hotel for a long weekendPosted Jul 29, 2013
Pros: The room was comfortable and spacious.
Location: Several restaurants nearby
I booked the Comfort Room which turned out to be located at the front of the hotel. My room had the benefit of a small balcony large enough to get out on to stand, but not sit out on. I was also impressed with the provision of a trouser press in the room. A bath robe and slippers were also provided. A kettle is provided in the room for tea/coffee-making. My Comfort Room rate did not include breakfast which, at €27, seems a bit steep. Fortunately, there is a cafe nearby where you can have a continental breakfast for under €4. Free WiFi was a definite benefit. Although the hotel is not located in the city centre, the nearby Schuman rail/metro station is highly convenient.
