Not what I expected

The hotel was old fashioned, the bed was not comfortable.. I got bit by a million mosquitos.. Very small room and very old bathroom.. Elevator to get to the hotel was so old and slow felt like it was going to stop on me. Manager was helpful but she refused to refund me my money back because I decided to not stay at that hotel.. I asked her to charge me for the night i stayed in and to approve for expedia to give me the rest of the money back and she refused so that left me with the impression that they don't care for their guests.. Never going there again.

Big communal flat

This is not a hotel in the true sense of the word but rather a big communal flat located on the sixth floor of a damaged building. Despite this, the rooms are very clean. The staff is quite friendly... but if you buy in the hotel a tour, they would be even more... much more.

Pros: Great place and friendly!!
The hotel is excelent! Everybody is very friendly and helpfull. The Midan Talat Harb is in the center of Cairo! Just great!!

While the building itself isn't the newest or in the best condition, the rooms are bright, clean, and the hotel is right in the middle of Downtown Cairo. The Egyptian Museum is a 5 minute walk away, and food hubs are all over the place outside. The staff were extremely friendly and kind. I hurt my knee my first day there while walking outside. A staffer saw me limping, helped me walk back to the hotel, and brought me tea in my room. So sweet! Only downsides were spotty internet in my room (good connection in the lobby, though) and a non-vegan friendly breakfast (hardboiled egg, yogurt, and bread w/ jam). Other than that, had a great stay!

Mid-range not very clean hotel, arrogant managers

Pros: Location
Cons: Attitude of the managing staff has to be changed, extremely mercantile, ungrateful, fake and arrogant, cleaning and other staff were very good

The boss wasn't happy by the fact that i got a "very cheap rate" on Expedia and he wasn't afraid to show his displeasure and make me feel as if the comission charged by Expedia was my fault. Before that, i asked if i could get the same price if i pay in cash on arrival - he refused, go figure. The rate we talk about is a rate at which you could get a very decent hotel anywhere in Europe. In order to compensate for his perceived "loss", starting from my arrival at 02AM they were convincing me to take tours with them from tomorrow at 9AM which is outward rude and lacking any manners. Some of them were i would even say reasonably priced, but i felt it almost as harassment since it wasn't simply part of my plans but that was hard for them to understand. On the other hand, when i arrived, the room was dirty, garbage wasn't cleaned, the soap in the bathroom was used by previous guest and not replaced, no towels. There were stains on the walls. That certainly didn't stimulate me to take the tour. Besides, the room i've got had nothing to do with the room promised to me by e-mail, hence, conscious of that they proposed me a free airport pick-up what was very appreciated and that is probably the only positive thing of my stay. I would also mention Madelaine, the receptionist, who is very kind, welcoming and warm person. The breakfast is minimal. Despite all that, if to judge by what the locals are saying, this hotel seems to be among the better ones in the area. Judge by yourself.

Cuando llegué quisieron llevarme a otro hotel (golden hotel) que era una pocilga con habitaciones claustrofóbicas pintadas de azul. se negaron a devolver el dinero de la reserva con la excusa que ellos me estaban ofreciendo una habitación con cama King (sin importar que era en otro hotel). tuve que reservar en otro hotel cercano.

좁고 창문이 없어서 답답함
