Fantastic!
I can not say enough great things about our stay and this property. Everything was perfect. Views for miles! Unbelievably quiet! The property owner was very responsive and even gave the best direction with little details, like where to turn in the driveway. which I did not read thoroughly and we went blowing by! :) Beds were great, showers was great/hot with the tankless hot water heater. Beyond furnished with everything you could possibly need and more. We would 100% stay here again!

Great Long Weekend Stay
The property is a short drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway and to Mt. Airy, NC. It was very well stocked with everything that we needed. Cindy checked with us to make sure that we arrived okay and everything was fine with the property when we arrived. We hope to stay here again in the future.

Great quiet house for rural mountain break
We really enjoyed our stay, which we used for a quiet weekend away to get writing work done in a relaxed environment. Beautiful views in the direction of Pilot Mountain from a quiet and very comfortable cabin. Everything we needed was there, and the host was very responsive when we needed to text about (very minor) issues that came up. We strongly recommend a visit.

Wonderful Stay!
We stayed at this cabin for a few days after Christmas and had a great stay! The cabin is clean, comfortable and extremely well stocked! The view from the front porch is incredible!! Especially at sunset! There are lots of comfortable sleeping areas available and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook each night! Cindy was very responsive and very accommodating! We loved that this cabin was pet friendly and we could bring our dogs with us! We would definitely book this cabin again for a restful get-away in the future! Wonderful stay! Home was clean. Perfect for family with babies and young children. Rocking chair in upstairs bedroom with baby gates huge plus. Wonderful view. Comfortable beds. Great communication with the host. Would love to come stay again.

Relaxing Stay With Amazing Scenery
Our stay was perfect. We were fortunate that the weather was unseasonably mild for December. Regarding the cabin itself, we were very satisfied with our choice. The cabin was very clean, organized, and overall very welcoming. We loved the layout internally and the furniture was very comfortable in all rooms. We often choose cabins as our annual R&R getaways and have stayed in numerous cabins over the years. This cabin ranked at the very top and our intent is to book a repeat visit in the foreseeable future. We loved the seclusion and the views from the front porch were spectacular. A very big thanks to the owners for creating a wonderful getaway experience.

Perfect getaway!
The cabin is beautiful inside and out. It had everything we could possibly want or need. Loved the way it is secluded and I can’t say enough about the spectacular view. We were so fortunate to catch the fall colors and beautiful weather. Sitting out on the porch in the morning with a cup of coffee and the sunrise….priceless! The communication with the owner was exceptional. No complaints….*****

Close to Perfection!
We were disappointed that the fireplace wasn't working, and there weren't any lawn chairs so we could enjoy the firepit, but Cindy was very communicative with us and apologized about the lawn chairs. We would definitely return to this beautiful cabin!!

Thank you Ellen. My husband was so upset about the lawn chairs. We just purchased new chairs and when we got home it was pouring rain so he set them in the shed because the storage bin we keep them in needed to be put back together. We reassembled the storage bin the next day and put the extra propane tanks in it for the grill and completely forgot to pull the chairs out of the shed. The gas fireplace has now been serviced and is available. We look forward to having you again in the future. Take good care b

Beautiful home and views!
This home and property was everything it said it was plus some, the photos don’t do it justice! All needed kitchen items plus some! Plenty of games for the family to play, plenty of extra blankets To snuggle up. The view was amazing from the front porch. Very quiet, we couldn’t hear any traffic (if there even was many cars that did pass). I would highly recommend. The furniture was very comfortable as well! We loved our stay.

Everything you need or want in a heavenly location!
Rustic Ridge Retreat is just wonderful! The view from the front porch is stunning and reason enough to stay there. Then there is the home itself. It is amazing: pristine and full of amenities from full size dishwashing liquid to a well stocked spice cabinet and any kitchen device you would want. We appreciated the essentials in the refrigerator as well! The A/C was welcome on a hot afternoon and the overhead fans indoors and on the porch were great. The master king bed and living room furniture were extremely comfortable. We felt it was ideally located for us to explore the local music venues. It is 30 minutes from the Blue Ridge Music Center and just an hour to Floyd, VA. The Blue Ridge Parkway is just five minutes away. As the owner is careful to note in her driving instructions, the dirt road leading to the home from the Parkway is quite steep with a few switchbacks. We recommend navigating it for the first time in daylight. Deer abound in this area, so be alert on the roads, including the Blue Ridge Parkway. We only live an hour away but will definitely return for a relaxing stay that seems worlds away!!!

Perfection! I love to have a key and not a keyless entry which doesnt work half the time. The house was all we needed and we used only the first floor. Fully loaded if you are a cook, the bed was so comfortable and the view, OMG, spectacular. So yes perfection is how we rate this place!

We had a great stay. It was a trip for my moms 60th birthday and she had a wonderful time! We went to see some different things including the maberry VA outpost, Mabry Mill, and downtown Mayberry NC with all the Andy Griffith stuff. Really enjoyed everything.

Relaxing Renewal
This home truly epitomizes a relaxing retreat. Every room is clean and bright. Absolutely everything was supplied from towels to coffee (and coffee filters)! The porch is very large with room for many and the view is amazing. Our host was kind, gracious & very quick to respond to any messages. We will definitely recommend this home to family and friends. The most well-stocked and thought out short-term rental I have ever stayed in (~6-8 stays per year). We enjoyed the time at this property immensely. We used the kitchen, grill, and firepit several times. Super clean and spacious. The back-up generator provided a peace of mind that we experienced during our stay. There were three days of consistent storms and we never lost power. Communication with the property owner was outstanding. I just want to say thank you once again for a memorable experience.

Incredible view of a stunning region
Beautiful area with easy access to Mt. Airy, Pilot Mt, Meadows of Dan, Hillsville, Stuart, Galax, etc. Absolutely stunning views of NC piedmont. Blue Ridge Parkway just above you and gorgeous Orchard Gap community just below you. Well equipped and very clean and comfortable house. Road coming in is a little wind-y and narrow if you’re unfamiliar with mountain driving (though absolutely part of the place’s charm), so would recommend arriving before dark if it’s your first time in the area. Overall, a fantastic stay…even with mixed weather during our particular weekend. And bonus points for warmth and communication from host. Hard to beat if you’re looking for a mountain escape.

Returning to the area
When our last stay place was not yet available for booking during our dates, we happened upon this home and glad we did. Cindy the owner was easy to deal with, was accommodating and responsive just as I try to be with my guests (I’m also a premier partner). The home is very well outfitted with all general and personal items for guest use (has me questioning my own vacation rental :-) ). The home was ready for us and the place was more than clean and presentable. The kitchen was very well stocked, loved having a gas stove to cook with (we cooked every night) and a gas fireplace was nice. The kitchen was very well stocked, we needed almost nothing we brought. We ended up staying an extra night and so glad we did, it snowed the extra night and that’s what we’d hoped for! Even our little fur babies loved the place, they fell right in to a routine. The location offers quiet like city folk can’t imagine and we loved every minute of it. We bought wood bundles at the Ammco gas station at the end of Ranger Rd. and burned a little camp fire a couple nights. While somewhat close to civilization, you’ll want to arrive with that which you need, there is no quick trip for a forgotten item. We were more than prepared for that and even with that, there were items we hadn’t thought about but were provided in the home. Very well done! We were checked on by Cindy upon arrival and departure via text, a nice touch. Thanks for a great stay!

Peaceful Getaway
The cabin was just as described and so peaceful. Everything was neat and clean and the owner was extremely responsive and helpful. We spent our Thanksgiving holiday there and had everything we needed. The view from the front porch is one of the greatest, we spent so many hours out there enjoying the peace and quite not to mention the beautiful sunrises. Would highly recommend!!

Your cabin, Blue Ridge Parkway Seclusion, has amazingly beautiful pine walls and floors throughout and the cleanest cabin we've ever rented. You provided so many caring comforts, condiment supplies in the kitchen, and amenities in the bathrooms. You thought of everything we would need in this serene cabin that is quite a distance from all the noises of town. Everything operated perfectly including the WiFi. The view from your cabin near the top of the Blue Ridge Mountain is inspiring, I believe we saw three states from there.

This is a fantastic location, beautiful house , super clean with everything you could need. We had a great stay with family in a very quiet setting, perfect for small group. Beautiful cabin. Everything you need to relax. Comfortable furniture, throws, everything you'd want in the kitchen, great bedrooms. Wonderful deck with view. My husband said the king bed gave him the best nights' sleep he'd had in years. Because it rained most of the 5 days/night we were there, we didn't explore the surrounding area, so we spent the entire time in the cabin. But the cool mountain breezes were wonderful. Our 2 small dogs would've liked a bit more space to roam, but it was fine. Cabin is off a really rough road and rough driveway. Owner was extremely helpful and replied immediately to questions. Great place to get away.

Just a few issues with the property
We have stayed at this location 3-4 times. It's a super nice place and we love staying there. The only problems we had with the property during this stay is all except for one bed makes so much noise it's hard to rest. And the weeds around the cabin was pretty high. Someone worked on cleaning all of that up one of the days we were there but they would need to be there more than a few days to get it all cleaned up properly.

We sorry to hear about the noise of the beds. We will look into this. As for the weeds, we are continuing our attempts at locating a regular service for this problem. In the current climate it is proving difficult to find people who want to work. In the meantime, will be traveling from several states away to take care of this ourselves.

House is beautiful, spacious, and extremely well stocked. Internet is fast and reliable permitting streaming. View from the house is an incredible panoramic view of mountains and valley. Located just off Parkway and about 20 minutes from Mt Airy. Owner is extremely helpful and responsive. I would highly recommend this property.

It was perfect. We wanted some quiet and relaxing and this place did it. It had everything in the house and area is really good. We went to Mabry mill good place to visit to learn some history also went to fort chiswell animal zoo was about 41 minutes from cabin but we didn't mine to go it was worth it. Fabulous mountain getaway!
We enjoyed this cabin immensely. Cindy was absolutely wonderful, communicating with us and leaving a lot of helpful information at the cabin. We traveled with our teenage son and our dog, and we all had the best spring break getaway. We walked to the waterfall, drove around neighboring towns, toured Mabry Mill, stopped in at Nancy's Candy... we sat out on the porch a lot and drank in the beautiful view and rested. We made simple meals the first couple of evenings and then got really good takeout from the Pit Stop restaurant nearby (and they had gluten free pizza!) the final night. Our first day was quite rainy, and the sound of the rain on the roof, the view of the clouds outside, the strategically placed fluffy soft throw blankets, and the music we played on the speaker in the cabin made for the most restful day. Everything we could ever want was provided and we hope to return regularly. Thanks Cindy! ~Jen and family

We’re happy you enjoyed our property and the amazing views. Our cabin is ‘secluded’ as we disclose in the title of our listing. Mt Airy is 15 minutes from the cabin, and the Blue Ridge Parkway is a mile up the hill.
