Location! Location! Location!
Very good location and competitive pricing. I liked that the owners were super responsive. I liked that there were 2 bikes offered on the property. The location really was amazing; 1 block from Boardwalk and beach. I would say a good choice for a couple or a family with no more than 2 kids. The property details did mention below grade and on lower floor, yet I did not quite grasp that we were actually staying in a renovated basement in a historic home! That was my fault for not paying more attention. Because it is a renovated basement in a historic house, you can expect to experience chilliness in cold weather, a constant battle with dampness, lower ceiling heights and a design that affords absolutely NO CLOSETS! We had to attend military events with formal clothes that needed to be hung on hangers. NOPE! And yes, being on the lower unit, you will most definitely hear the renters above you clearly. I also might suggest a better cable package for the TV in the living room. Parking in Cape May is a challenge for all, yet in this unit, be mindful that the 1 parking space provided is around the corner. Owners will explain that before you check-in, yet again, I didn't fully understand until we arrived and was confused to where we should park. The parking spot is at another house (pink house) around the corner!

Great stay in Cape May!!
Quick getaway for our family of 5. Very easy. Condo is as advertised and was the perfect size. It's also a great location! One block to the beach and walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Reserved parking spot is definitely a bonus!! We will certainly be coming back! Thank you!

Excellent stay - great location
We had a great stay in Cape May at the Sand Dunes condo. I stayed there with 2 children (7 and 9) and 3 adults. Really loved the location - so close to the beach and to the shopping areas downtown. The listing is very accurate and clear about the condo being below grade with some uneven levels, which added some dampness and some getting used to when stepping into the bathrooms, but entirely expected thanks to the clear information. We appreciated all the “extras” - we didn’t use the provided bikes but it was so nice to have as an option. The storage area where the bikes and laundry were was great just to store suitcases and all. Beds were very comfortable! The outside shower was great and loved that there was a little shelf for your things. Would have loved a larger area to eat but we made do at the kitchen table by adding a folding chair that was in the storage area. Also made use of the picnic table outside. Overall a fantastic stay and we’d certainly consider staying here again.

Great Location
Very good location and competitive pricing. We thought we were going to be on a first floor area but you are basically renting a finished basement area and get to enjoy hearing the renters above you. We spent most of our time out of the unit but harder to sleep hearing all of the footsteps and conversations, etc above you. Would be great if they added just a few more cable channels. You get the most limited package available. Enjoyed the area but definitely won’t rent here again.

Thank you for renting. And for your feedback. We appreciate you doing both. However, I feel the need to respond. The unit is clearly described as a lower level unit and from the pictures, you can clearly see that it is the lover level. So yes, there are people above you. In fact, The unit is 9” below ground with windows in almost every room - as can be seen by the photos on vrbo. There are single hotel rooms with one or two beds and one bathroom that are available in cape may for $800 night where you can be on the top floor or homes that you can rent for $15,000 a week. We offer 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms with a parking space almost across from the beach for less than $450/night. Most people are here to enjoy the beach and town and not the cable. Yes we offer basic cable but every tv is a “smart tv” so you can bring your Netflix/Hulu/etc package with you. Most people don’t choose accommodations based on the amount of channels they get on a tv while on vacation but we will happily look into enhancing our tv package! Thank you for the suggestion!

Great location, but…
The location of the unit was great! A block over from the beach and close to restaurants/shopping, for sure! The unit is accessible only through the side of the house as it’s a walk out basement (half under ground/half above ground)and so the air quality isn’t great. The condo on the 1st floor, directly above us, was under construction our entire week stay. The noise of wood being sawed and sawdust wasn’t very relaxing. The kitchen and living room space are small and so the space can accommodate 4 comfortably. The front and back room’s utilize manual gas heaters but unfortunately due to the smell and constant headaches, we opted for the 3 portable heaters available. The unit had everything needed, however, it needs updating/cleaning (ie: overused kitchenware) and it could be a hit!

Thank you for posting a review. We are always trying to improve our guest’s stay and comments allow us to do that. The upstairs unit is owned separately and we were not aware that construction was taking place during your stay, so we apologize. Had we known, we would have called the upstairs owner immediately. Yes the unit is a 7” step down from the walkway but with windows in every room. During the winter/early spring sometimes prevents fresh outside air due to the weather of the season. The 3 bedroom / 2 bath condo sleeps 6 comfortably. We provide extra chairs for the kitchen and living room. We upgraded the kitchenware based on your comments, so we appreciate that feedback as well. We are glad that you mentioned the proximity to the beach, shopping and restaurants! We know that you cannot find a better place to stay for the price and amenities! So thank you for staying and enjoy your summer!!

The location was very convenient. We parked the car Thursday and did not use it again until we packed up on Monday! Walking distance to almost everything. 1 short block to the beach and close to shopping and restaurants. We will bet back!!

Basic cozy lodgings near beach.
The space is cozy but a bit tight in some areas, given that it is at the grade level of an old Cape May house. Because it was appears to be a remodeled area below the original main house, there were a couple of slight level changes between sections that took a bit of getting used to. The living area and bedrooms were comfortable for a small group. The kitchen/dining area was small and didn't have much in the way of counter space for food preparation or serving. Sitting at the dining table also was tight. But it was light and airy for the most part. We didn't use the TV's, but there were several in different rooms. The outside hot/cold shower was nice for coming up from the beach. Beach tags were provided, although we had our own.

It was a great location to the beach. House was clean but if you have an older person with you there’s a tiny lose ramp to get down into apt. A down step into the front door and also both bathrooms. We kept tripping forgetting they were there! Other then that we had an awesome time!

This property is a fantastic location in Cape May. Within walking distance of beach, restaurants, and shopping. The place itself is a bit quirky with a small step down into each bathroom. It’s very clean and ready for guests. Definitely would rent again.

Perfect Location
We were in Cape May for a wedding at Congress Hall. This location was PERFECT - we walked to the venue. So many other things to do within walking distance as well! The house itself was clean and well kept. We would definitely go back!!!

We had a great stay at the Sand Dunes condo. Very, very clean and cozy. Owners super responsive and lovely. (During our stay we had major Ida storm flooding at home and my daughters and I stayed at the condo while my husband went back to survey damage. It was great to have a literal port in the storm!)

Best location for beach relaxation!
My husband, three children (10, 7, and 5) had a wonderful time at the Sand Dunes condo! The location was great for a super short walk to the beach as well as being very convenient to the Washington Mall, restaurants, and West Cape May. The bedrooms worked great for our family of five, and we appreciated having two full bathrooms as well as an outdoor shower with hot water. All in all, this property cannot be beat!

Great location!
This property is fantastic for the location. If you have noisy upstairs neighbors, it can be a little less calm and quiet. Having the parking spot was nice just a little bit of a walk. Finding additional parking was trickier. If you have more than one vehicle, plan to pay to park. The beach was a short walk and very clean. Overall, it's a nice getaway.

The pictures are accurate but somewhat deceiving. It looks like a lower level (ground floor) unit but it is partially below ground, with a short ramp outside and a step down into the unit. There are also two short step downs into the bathrooms. The kitchen seating is limited but in nice weather, the picnic table seats more people. It was clean and they provided DampRid throughout and supplies. And the location is great. Close to the beach, restaurants, and the mall.

Cozy Basement Apartment
This is a cozy little place on the lower level of an old Cape May house. It’s clean and has spacious bedrooms and two full bathrooms which is nice. You do have to walk through one of the bathrooms to get to the master bedroom. The layout is a little bit odd but adequate for a place to sleep at the beach. Of note the living room is in the front of the apartment and the kitchen is in the back. There is a patio outside with a grill and it’s very close to the beach. But there’s no real outside area to sit and watch the world go by which is the only thing I missed. The place was very clean and the owner is easy to communicate with and very accommodating.

The owner John was wonderful to work with. Excellent location. In the past we stayed at the Hotel Alcott but this year we had a baby and needed something more family friendly. The Sand Dunes Condo was perfect and in the area we are familiar with. We would recommend this condo to anyone.

Great condo in the perfect location!
We spent the week at the Sand Dunes Condo the last week in July. The location can not be beat! Close to the beach and all of Cape May’s fabulous restaurants and shops. The condo is located on a quiet street a bit a way from the hustle and bustle of town. This condo is perfect for families. It has three bedrooms and two bathrooms and an outdoor shower that was perfect after a day at the beach. We love Cape May and certainly will be back!

Let me start off by saying how attentive and helpful John, the landlord, was. He answered every phone call within 2 rings and answered text messages within minutes! The condo itself was very clean and worked perfectly for us and our extended family! The price is unbeatable! Cape May beach is a very short block! Cape May town and Washington Mall is just a short walk! We absolutely loved our stay and can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay! We will be back again! Thanks so much John!

Excellent location
This place is in prime location for this adorable quaint town. We enjoyed walking to breakfast, the shops, dinner and the beautiful beach daily. We often got up very early to explore and you are not alone, it’s a very active town. Aloha Smoothie are amazing for a treat too! The condo was clean and supplied with all the necessities needed to enjoy our stay. The beds are comfortable and it was the perfect size place for our family of 5. Honestly, we didn’t spend a lot of time in the condo because the town had so many things to do that we were kept so busy for a full week! The owner was very responsive and was available to speak with quickly when we had an issue or simple question. I highly recommend this place for your next beach vacation!!
