Nice place. We just were there overnight but seems like a place that would make a nice base for day trips in the area. It is a little off the paved road so we wondered where we were going as we drove to it but it turned out to be a nice oasis in the surrounding cane fields. Lovely tree of birds at the front (but watch out for poop…)

It was tranquil, simple and beautiful. From the moment I arrived, everything slowed down for me - and although I did not yet know it, that was just what I required. All of the staff went out of their way to help me with whatever I needed. The food was splendid and the conversation with the proprietors was engaging. When I left, I felt like I was leaving home.

This hotel is extremely overpriced and the room was disgusting. The room smelled of mold, the walls were marked up, the sheets had stains, there were bugs in the room and shower, and it was overall smelly and dirty. Not worth the money or the inconvenient trip to get there. No A/C and only a weak fan was offered to stifle the heat. Please keep in mind, if I was paying $20 a night, this is what I would expect. However, we paid $140 USD to stay and the experience was awful. The staff was disorganized and disgruntled. They were very unhelpful and I can not in good faith recommend anyone to stay here.

The girls at the front desk is extremely helpful, accommodating, professional and kind. The property itself is off the beaten path. There is no AC. The weather was fine but it was humid when we arrived and would have been nice to have AC. Sheets were really uncomfortable. Weird smell in the bathroom from the septic system maybe? The room was "cold". Tile floors, no art on the walls, no rugs, nothing to soften it up. We wouldn't stay there again.

New room with views of the Turrialba volcano!!
Great stay! The room was spacious, new and spotless. The staff super helpful and friendly. The owners were on site making sure their guests feel like friends. The place was very quiet, ideal to relax; and yet close to many activities (we went rafting and to the irazu volcano). Recomended 120%!! Pura vida!!

Beautiful location
The location was beautiful and peaceful. We would definitely stay here again. While we had some problems at checkout (they couldn't run a credit card because the staff at the desk "didn't know how"-- we had to pay in cash). I'm assuming this was an anomaly, as the rest of our stay was very enjoyable. Rooms are large and clean, although not air-conditioned, which was fine. Excellent food and caring staff. Can't beat the location and view.

Disappointing. Nice people though.
Ok, first off I dont hardly ever leave feedback. Im not hard to please. In this case I was just disappointed. The price was good. They had nice pictures on website. The name was cool. And the staff was super nice. And a awesome view. I guess I expected too much for the buck. Room mattress was super cheap and felt springs and noice laying down. doors did not fit well and had to push hard to open. Room was clean though. Room was akward, had to step down one step to the bathroom. had to watch out for middle of night trip to bathroom. Food was good and wait staff was great. I would reccomend that you spend another $25 or more and find somethinf nicer.

We enjoyed our stay but had trouble finding it as directions were not good enough. The restaurant was ok, but we found that it wasn't very good value for money. The staff were friendly enough but a bit preoccupied.

Quiet piece of paradise
Beautiful hotel, amazing room, helpful staff. The only drawback we encountered was getting to the hotel- part of which involved a bumpy drive on a road skirting a sugarcane field. (Not sure if my GPS was giving me bad directions- did I take the back way to the hotel?)

This will be a beautiful hotel in a lovely peaceful location, just to the east of Turrialba. Beautfiul pool and hot tub, lovely open area where you take your meals, good food and the most entertaining and wonderful Weaver Birds all making their nests right outside the front entrance, which were entrancing. I say 'will be' as, as of now, (Jan 2013) the new wing is still being built! We were put in a room which was still not quite finished (as in wet concrete smell, no lamps in the room etc and workers building up above us from 6am!). The rooms themselves are large and airy with comfortable beds. I think after this spring, (ie once it's finished) it will be a fabulous hotel, but feel perhaps we should have been charged less than full rate for an unfinished room in a building site!!

Quiet & Comfortable
Well maintained place with a very nice pool. Amid sugarcane plantations, off the main road a ways, in the countryside. Very quiet and peaceful. Owners were exceedingly nice and ran a reasonably priced restaurant (mostly for the guests, as it wasn't the type of place that catered to the general surrounding area) with good food cooked by the owners. Close to the bustling town of Turrialba, but far enough away for peace and quiet. Variety of rooms, and a new building with accommodations is being built for even more staying options, which should be completed in a few months as of this writing. Close to many places like towns, volcano, and other adventures including parks and rainforest hiking and swimming. I considered it centrally located for a variety of diverse activities to indulge in on any given day, as so much is near enough by, which would be easy to access especially if you have your own transportation. This general area of the country had a horse/farm feel to it, and horseback riding was available also. Hotel is quite adequate as a base for exploring the surrounding area, small enough to be cozy, and not be overwhelmed by a lot of fellow travelers, during the day or evening. Was a fine place to spend the last leg of my trip before heading home.

Peaceful Retreat in Turrialba
Very peaceful location, we felt as if we had the entire hotel to ourselves. Friendly staff. Nicely landscaped. Quiet and peaceful stay!

Zunächst war die Hinfahrt eine Tortour. Sämtliche Wege gesperrt, dann ist eine nette Einheimische auf dem Fahrrad vor uns her gefahren. Man fährt ewig über eine Piste mit riesen Schlaglöchern (unbedingt im Hellen ankommen! ) ... ein Ort ist nicht mehr zu sehen, nur Ruinen und Schotterpiste. Endlich beim Hotel angekommen, geht es eine waghalsige Einfahrt hinauf. Niemand half uns mit den Koffern und obwohl wir die einzigen Gäste neben einem alten Herrn waren und etwa drei Stunden zuvor dort angerufen hatten, um uns in der Regenzeit nach den Straßenverhältnissen zu erkundigen, wusste man zunächst von uns nichts. Als dann endlich das gewünschte Computerprogramm von der herbei gerufenen Chefin geöffnet und man sich sicher war, dass wir tatsächlich gebucht hatten, durften wir ankommen. Das Zimmer sei noch nicht fertig geputzt (leeres Hotel? ). Später kamen wir in den Neubau. Luxuriöses Zimmer, leider neben uns Schweißarbeiten und vor unserem Balkon. Die fünf Kinder, die zur Chefin oder den Angestellten gehörten, hatten ihren Spaß mit unterschiedlichen Musikinstrumenten, sodass es mitten im Nirgendwo ziemlich laut wurde. Der Pool war mäßig sauber, vor unseren Augen wurden noch schnell Chemikalien aus einem Kanister rein geschüttet. Dass wir nach fünf Stunden Autofahrt gerne etwas zu Essen hätten (14:30Uhr), stiess auf Verwunderung und nach dem die Angestellte stundenlang nach dem Chef und der Speisekarte gesucht hatte, um zu fragen, was es gebe und was nicht, konnten wir dann endlich etwas essen. Das Abendessen verkniffen wir uns dann. Schönes Zimmer, schöne Bäume und Vögel drumherum. Schöne Anlage. Wir waren ganz schnell weg am nächsten Morgen. Diese Familie ist nichtmal auf drei Gäste eingestellt. ..

Hôtel situé dans un endroit très calme. Personnel au petit soin. Nous n'étions pas dans le bâtiment principâl, aux chambres modernes, mais dans une chambre de la maisonnette. Elle ne correspondait pas à notre bon de réservation, la literie n'était pas terrible, la salle de bain a besoin d'une rénovation, mais nous y avons quand même passé un très bon moment.
