This property has been here for many years under different ownership save each time the conditions worsen, seems like very little investment is being put into the property. The Rutland County area is very limited in offering hotels that are clean and at decent price. Prices get hiked up due to ski season, unfortunately I have been staying here intermittently as my mother has been in and out of the hospital and is now currently dying at the hospital but have to the ski prices, whatever happened to reducing a rate due to family emergency?…and yes, I’ve asked.
As for around the property, please remove the Diamond Run Mall in terms of exploring the area, the mall has been shut down for quite a few years, it’s been abandoned and monitored by security and law enforcement, this is very deceiving for people that have never been to the area. As for the hotel, exterior and interior very aged, dated and low lighting. Access into the building is easy, no access card needed, little to no security other than a routine drive thru by local contracted security and plenty of cameras with the only hope that perhaps someone is actively monitoring them at all times, otherwise useless accept for after the fact. The room was very dimly lit almost depressing. Potato chip bag already in the garbage that didn’t come from me and used tissue behind the night stand. The TV is also very antiquated, had to crank up the volume in order to hear anything. The bed was great, felt good, comfortable.
