when we got to the hotel room the bath itself was very unclean/dirty and looked like it was not cleaned at all, holes in the pillow case, cups,spoons,plates and any kitchen utensils etc. Right when going to the pool beside shower area the water from the shower stays 3 days up and who ever wants to go to the pool or outside has to go trough the dirty water and then go in the pool.

No air con or fan so very hot in summer. No one serviced the room for the week I was there. Very unhelpful front desk staff. Room is a good size and good value for money. Nice area.

Not a place to work your emails...
Internet included did not work except for very short periods. Customer service would tell me they will fix, but the situation did not change even after several daily complaints. NO AC at 37C they did not even help finding fans...

Great location, quiet street yet near to Port and everything was in walking distance. Very well equipped for studio, inc dishwasher and microwave/oven. No space left in car park, so we had to park on nearby streets and a bit difficult to find a space at busy times. Parking costs very cheap for city. Only thing that spoiled the room was a bad drains smell in the WC, and very small and thin bath towels! Also we felt it was a bit mean to charge 3 euros per day to use the in-room safe, when it just involved inputting a self-chosen pin code.

A decent aparthotel in a great location. Quiet street, but v close to all attractions, & tourist info office is nearby, as is train station. Swimming pool was great, indoors, but with both indoor and outdoor sunbed area. Found reception staff to be very helpful. Hotel is clean but a bit dog-eared in corridors. No air-conditioning either & it was very muggy during our stay (August). Nontheless, very pleasant stay.

Reception staff pleasant and helpful. This hotel is fine for a family. Room well equipped for a stay with utensils, fridge and kitchenette. Be aware that the double bed is a sofa conversion with 2 bunks. Would like a little more attention to cleaning of the beds. Pool is great. Perfect temperature to cool off after a day out. Would have been better if closing time was 8pm and not 7pm. Location close to station. Bit of a walk to the town if with small children. Be advised that tourist tax is charged on check in - had thought this was included in booking charge.Would stay again and would recommend.

Walk to everywhere
This was our second stay at P+V la Rochelle.The residence is in the perfect location,just 6 minutes from the train station,and no more to the Vieux Port.In addition it is a few minutes from the Aquarium, and the maritime museum.Rue St Nicolas is a lively area for a beer/glass of wine,or toeat.Don't miss "La Giugnette"at number 16,but get there early,as it's closed by 9pm.They have their own"brand" of wine based bottles,with 5 flavours......all at 9 euros.EVERYBODY drinks this, and the place is packed.The residence itself is clean, and the pool is heated.We were upgraded to a 1 bed studio(apartment) instead of a 4 person studio.The room was spacious, and there was a small balcony.Good staff and welcome.One small plumbing problem, and get showered early, as the water CAN be tepid.All in all, very good value for money.

Big disappointment!
Long, dark corridors with only every third light operational gave awful first impression. First floor room we were offered was dingy and dark. We moved to third floor which was brighter. Room itself was clean, but furnishings had seen better days - huge stains on carpet, old, low sofa bed with ancient, worn blanket and sheets. Good supply of dishes and cutlery, but not even a starter pack of washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets supplied. Had to pay for kitchen kit with tea towel, as well as pack of towels for personal use. Also charge made for use of wifi and safe! All in all poor value for money and we would not go back to Pierre et Vacances property!

Ideal budget type hotel
We stayed here for 1 week. The hotel is in a great location just 2/3 minutes walk from the harbour and city centre. The hotel is clean and comfortable. We had self catering kitchen facilities which came in handy as eating out every night can be expensive. The bathroom has a full size bath as well as a shower and overall the room was comfortable. There is an indoor swimming pool and a sun terrace which is very clean and a good way to finish a long day. La Rochelle itself is a lovely town with lots to see and do, the food is great especially if you're in to seafood. Very enjoyable.

Towels!
The hotel is fine - reasonable position, basic but OK. However since my last stay the policy has changed to not include towels in the rooms. I arrived in the evening at 8.30 when reception was closed so it was impossible to hire any. The following morning I had a breakfast meeting the other side of town and reception was not open so it was still impossible to acquire any towels. This needs to be flagged up clearly on booking so that arrangements can be made in advance. The hotel was helpful in advance by email with entry codes for late arrival and booking breakfast and would probably have been helpful with providing towels had I known to ask. Sheets and pillow cases this year were left in a sealed plastic bag so note you also have to make your own bed. Slightly irritating but not so much a problem as no towels. I believe it is in the smallprint that towels can be hired but having had them in the room before I assumed that meant for the swimming pool. It needs to say that there are no longer towels in the room and they must be hired from reception.

I am upset why the consultant did not explain to me this is not a hotel. It has no staff, no service when the reception and all staff are off after about 6:00 pm. The first night we had no hot water but could not get any help because no staff was there and no phone number for us to call for enquiry. This bad experience had overcasted all other points I wanted to write about this residence.

Cheaper of the hotels, just on the outskirts to the town itself. Was easier to find parking (albeit meter-paid, but cheap though). Really near the train station and just a 10 min walk to the shops/harbour. The room was fairly basic, but it did have a small kitchenette and flat screen tv. Although basic, it was clean and had a nice clean bathroom. Reception was unusual - only open at certain times and closed midday-two. You have to use a code to get in. The was a pool, that I didn't use, but looked fine. Didn't use the breakfast room, but again, looked fine. Worth the money. If you wanna be more town centre or posher, it'd obviously cost you more.

Just returned from a week at Maeva. Excellent for a short break. Only 100 mtrs from TGV station and 50 mtrs from harbour front. Close to local shopping and museums. Room was basic but clean and well equipped with cooking facilities and effective and cotrollabe heating, useful in February! Staff friendly and welcoming. Like a Travelodge with a kitchette, allows good flexibility. Overall good value, would be good for a family with a baby as you can cook or wash anytime.

We were 3 females sharing. The accomodation was very conveniently located, close to everything, including the station. Room was smallish, but quite do-able. There were basic catering facilities, beds were firm, but OK. We found a parking spot right next door, and found it cheaper than the hotel parking, which tends to get filled up. Pool was nice, breakfast quite good, and staff helpful. We spoke basic French which helped. All in all, we were very content for the 5 days we spent there.

Rapport qualité/prix très décevant ! Bcp trop cher ! Des couloirs jonchés de moutons de poussière... alors que la femme d'étage/ de ménage passe de longues minutes à envoyer des textos accoudée à son chariot... 1 piscine qu'on pourrait imaginer en maintenance les éclairage normalement immergés étant extraits et posés au sol en limite de la piscine... A part le fait d'être en plein centre de La Rochelle, pas grand chose ne peut justifier 1 tel tarif...

Quand nous sommes arrivés, nous avons découvert une chambre poussièreuse et mal nettoyée. Le placard était sale tout comme le micro-ondes dans lequel nous avons retrouvé du pop corn. La résidence est vieillissante et le personnel d'accueil et de chambre ne salue même pas les clients. Le seul petit-déjeuner que nous avons pris était médiocre. Par contre, l'établissement est très bien placé au centre-ville, près du Vieux Port et des animations.
