Perfect!Posted Dec 1, 2013
Pros: I left my toiletry kit behind. The head of housekeeping returned my call, took my address, and is sending it back to me. She couldn't be any nicer!
Cons: Nothing that I know of.
Location: We were visiting family but did manage a walk to the nearby UVA campus. Beautiful!
This was the perfect place to stay as we joined family for Thanksgiving. Immaculately clean rooms, courteous staff, good breakfast.

Location is EverythingPosted Oct 16, 2013
Pros: The location was good and the walk to the Downtown Mall seemed safe enough.
Cons: Expedia needs to ensure that the hotel confirmation number is printed on their confirmations. The hotel staff should be more considerate.
Location: The Downtown Mall has lots of restaurants and shops and seemed especially charming after dark.
The hotel is within a reasonable walking distance of the Downtown Mall in Charlottesville. Accessing the parking lot is a bit tricky because it is very close to an intersection (shown on the Expedia site photo) where there is a traffic light and very heavy traffic (both not shown on the Expedia site photo), especially at rush hour. There is a second entrance that appears to go to a construction site, but it stops just short of that. The hotel had difficulty finding the reservation. This may not be their problem because the same thing occurred on the same trip at another hotel also booked with Expedia. At that hotel, the problem was that the hotel confirmation number did not appear on the Expedia confirmation. They called Expedia and were able to get the correct information using the itinerary number. Our room was next to the Mechanical Room and directly across from the office entrance. This area is very noisy and apparently used as an impromptu entertainment area because we heard singing frequently throughout the night (especially the song about Los Angeles). The construction site was active in the morning, but was far quieter than the activity outside our room. Needless to say, sleeping was difficult.

Excellent location to explore Charlottesville areaPosted Sep 20, 2013
Pros: We liked the 24 hour coffee and the trolley with popcorn. The breakfast was acceptable and was available from 06:00 to 10:00, which was very useful.
Location: The hotel was conveniently situated to visit local sites such as Monticello or further afield such as Montpellier and the Blue Ridge mountains
The location was perfect for us because we arrived and left by Amtrak and the station is only a ten minutes stroll from the Hotel (with suitcases). There is a very accommodating shuttle service that we used to get to the airport for our rental car.

Enjoyed ease of scheduling shuttle (car) to take to various spots. With emphsis on reusing towels, need to install many more hooks in bathroom to facilitate reuse. In reality the rooms with two beds could sleep four; thus, four hooks should be in bathroom!

No Boo-Hoo over the missing Beanie Boo.Posted Sep 15, 2013
Pros: The location was a mile from where we needed to be early the next morning.
We lost a small stuffed pet but found it with ease when it was carefully placed front and center at the main desk in the lobby. Love the popcorn machine! A healthy treat at any time for all ages.

Know your rate in advance.Posted Jul 31, 2013
Pros: The cleanliness, friendly staff.
Cons: Full disclosure on the rates.
Location: Convenient to shopping and restaurants.
I was surprised to learn the rate is based on ONE person, which means an extra person in my room costs an extra $10.00 per night. I had never encountered that before, and I have stayed at several Hamptons. I discovered this after I had booked and saw the details in the confirmation. The room was very small, and the King bed and dresser pretty much filled the room up. The breakfast buffet was OK. The staff was very professional and friendly. Before I stay in another Hampton, I'm going to educate myself on room size and rate details. You should too.
