Good location but...

Posted Jun 30, 2014
We were so happy to find a slightly less expensive option for staying in Charlottesville, and this was a good fit for that. It was close enough to be in the middle of the historic district in 10 minutes by car, really good. The beds were pretty uncomfortable, though - very old and saggy. And for whatever reason, there was an extra desk chair in our room, in addition to a micro fridge and microwave, and the bed near that part of the room was so crowded that we were glad that we didn't need to use it. The staff at the front desk handled our needs without any delay or issues, but not the friendliest folks. Our smiles were not met with smiles in return. Didn't seem to be the happiest of people working here. Also, the first floor reeked of cigarette smoke. We were on the third floor and it was fine. Our room also was very clean, but the overpowering smell of artificially scented cleaners was very strong and irritated my throat the first night.

OK, for short trip

Posted Jun 24, 2014
Pros: It is close to the UVA hospital facilities, and makes it easy to get on and off the highway.
Cons: Remove furniture that is in poor shape, to help open up the space that is available in the rooms.
We arrived late and were leaving out early, so we just needed a space to sleep and shower. It was a clean room, but crowded. They had an office chair in the room in poor disrepair, and it made it difficult to get to the Air Conditioning unit. The room was quiet, beds were comfortable, bath was clean and well stocked with toiletries and linens. So overall, it was good for a short stay, but would be too crowded for an extended stay. They did offer breakfast from 6-9am, but we did not have breakfast there. The space for the breakfast area is small and in the same space where folks are trying to check out.

As expected

Pros: I'm grateful we had it; it was still better than sleeping in our car. The water in the shower was hot, the hotel was quiet and the TV worked great.
Cons: Repair the furniture --people do use the chairs, replace the mattresses and wipe down the walls in the bathroom
Location: Downtown Charlottesville. It's great.
Room was okay, bathroom floor was clean but sticky from where they had not rinsed it well. The beds are very soft and the desk chair in our room was broken. It was okay and it was the last room in town for a big UVA weekend.

Good for price

We were only staying a night. The bed was a little hard but over all they had a tv and air conditioning. Very polite and helpful staff.

Disgusting

Posted May 25, 2014
Pros: nothing
Worst experience. The entire hotel reeked of cigarettes. Dark and dingy. Bed linens unfit to sleep in. Linens and pillows appeared to be 20 years old. Stained pillow cases and brown stains on comforter. Left as unfit to stay.

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
Location: UVA Gradustion
Won't use them again....ever. Little Pillows. TV had a frozen signal for a day. SUPER SMALL ROOM...I streched out once in bed and turned on the microwave with my toe. Clothes had to hang beside the bed on a wall rack.
