Could have been great if the basics improved
Hotel is located behind the main street in Bourton. Parking spaces allocated if you can get one.
Room was spacious and bed was really comfy.
However shower and water pressure was almost non existent in a cold & poorly ventilated bathroom.
Charming little place! Nothing fancy but very comfy and cozy and clean. The hosts were incredibly nice and warm. Perfect base for exploring the area. Hard to beat the location. The breakfast was a nice addition.
The room was promoted as a Family room. I don't know where any children would have slept if we'd brought any as there was only 1 double bed and and a sofa with broken springs. I know that very old buildings have some quirky features so I expected uneven floors and creaking floorboards but not stained and threadbare carpet. The room was very cold with one small inadequate radiator. But the bathroom was positively arctic as there was no heating at all (don't be fooled by the heated towel rail - it doesn't work) therefore towels never dried and as the room was not serviced as we only stayed 2 nights, the second day's shower was not a pleasant experience. The towels themselves were very small and thin. Saying that, the host was very friendly and welcoming, the breakfast was excellent and the parking was a bonus as the B&B is in an excellent location in the centre of the village and Bourton is a good centre for exploring the Cotswolds.
Great location in the village centre, quiet rooms as well. Parking was available around the rear of the building, out the front was very busy.
Good breakfast and choice.
Staff kept calm even when we had a power cut.

Found blood spot on one of the pillows. Room felt like being in a ship. Up hill and down dale. I know it is old but the level of the floor was atrocious.
The building was about to fall apart. Floors were terribly uneven and hard to walk around. Shower only worked on scalding hot. Couldn't get warm water out ofaucet, only hot and cold separandately. No ventilation, the walls and windows would have water dripping on them. Beds were horribly uncomfortable. Sorry, i hate to give a bad review, but it was the worst two nights of our 11 day trip. They need to renovate.
Very clean, quiet, well-maintained, comfy beds and pillows. Good WiFi, in-house laundry room (was great to be able to do laundry for free, mid-journey). Kitchen was well-equipped and stocked with good basics and breakfast items. Friendly front office staff. Good parking. No complaints at all!
The location was perfect for visiting Burton on the Water. The staff is excellent and make you feel at home. It is right in the center of town but quiet. The only small issue is that the parking lot is small and a little hard to get in and out of. Would recommend it and would come back again.
Kind staff with nice breakfast. The property was quite old. So, it was slightly inconvenient but that’s natural since we chose to visit this town to feel the past.
We had a lovely stay. Everything went smoothly with our late check in, good communication. Super location. Great service and breakfast. If we go back to Bourton on the Water we’d definitely stay there again. Would recommend it.
This B&B is perfectly located in the center of the High Street, but is quite and peaceful due to its entry being in a small lane behind the main street.
The proprietors were extremely friendly and helpful as to advising us about the area, and went out of their way to make last-minute dinner reservations for us. We would definitely recommend Chestnuts B&B to anyone thinking about visiting Bourton-on-the-Water.
Very disappointed. Entry through dingy back door. Hallways old dark and in need of decoration. No housekeeping during stay or cups/milk etc. replenished. Although could have done it ourselves. Room very dark. Cave like. Bathroom small and dark. Breakfast good. Not enough parking spaces. Web site leads you to believe that the b&b is on the front of high street. But the picture is of a shop with the same name.
Position in the town was excellent, as was the shower in our tiny en-suite
Our room was seriously overdue for a complete update (electrics) and refurbishment
Paying five star money, getting zero star facility.
Old room, basic facilities, no lift, average breakfast, room was hot as heater was on,limited parking spaces. It is not worth for the amount of money they are charging.I won't book this hotel again.
I had a lovely little holiday in this really quaint bed and breakfast. Excellent food, so many little extras thought about and nothing was too much trouble.
Thank you so much.

Comfy with good breakfast, slightly date rooms
Good size room with comfy bed though a little dated.
Bathroom okay but shower could have been more powerful.
Nice selection for breakfast, not huge but well cooked, particularly liked the omelette, perhaps could have been some fruit on offer?
3 night stay. Cycling trip with friends all 6 of us stayed here. Perfect location for Cotswolds. Old and quaint accommodation. Good breakfast’s and friendly staff. I would recommend this accommodation.
This is a fantastic B&B in a great location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great location for the Cotswolds
The accommodation was looking a little bit tired in our opinion, the mattress and pillows could possibly be looking at getting renewed, the hosts were very attentive and lovely with a good breakfast, location is perfect for the Cotswolds and exploring the area
A lovely listed building B & B very helpful owner Liz, the place if just on the High Street, in Bourton a little hidden away not difficult to find. Great communication from Liz how to find the place parking on site which is premium! Let us check in early as we were at an early afternoon funeral we had travelled from Pembrokeshire. Fabulous freshly cooked breakfast. Everything we needed. highly recommend. Caroline & Max
We had a wonderful stay! The host was incredibly friendly and accommodating even for my food allergies! It’s located right in the heart of Bourton-on-the-water so everything is right by you!
Wonderful stay in loverly old building in a perfect location in the town. Service from the staff was excellent from the moment we arrived, finding somewhere safe for our bikes m to making sure breakfast met our needs for another long cycle!
