When we arrived a woman was outside and informed us that she lives in the hotel amongst others. The impression it gave was the hotel is more like a rehabilitation/homeless centre.
The room was very dated, practically threadbare carpets. Not enough milk for a cup of tea, so I had to go down and ask for some.
The bed was very uncomfortable, we didn’t get much sleep due to that and the noise from the room upstairs. It sounded like the ceiling was going to fall in the sound of the rattling. Even with the windows open and a fan running it felt like a furnace. People slamming and banging doors, and playing music off their phone in the corridor whilst walking.
We ordered room service but the meal was awful, so didn’t get eaten. Apart from a few chips.
When we went down to breakfast we were greeted by people in their nightclothes.
Crockery and cutlery was filthy, not any juice choices. And the cooked breakfast was barely edible. The bread for the toast was covered in mould and was hard. I did mention this to a breakfast waitress for her to reply ewww.
On checkout the manager was busy on the phone so we didn’t stay to pass on our comments. as he comes across as very rude..
Nearly £200 for the night. Definitely not worth it, seen as it’s advertised as a spa hotel.
I’m very disappointed!
Ignore the positive reviews, these are most likely left by management and workers. The place is not fit for purpose and needs a full refurb, including management.
