It was easy to find, on Hwy #2 and just off of Hwy #71. A good firm comfortable bed. The TV didn't work so they brought a different one in. We turned on the heat and a weird smell and smoke started to come out and the smoke alarm went off. We turned it off, lucky it was only 55 out so we didn't freeze. The shower drain wouldn't drain so we pulled the plug out and hair slug about 6 inches long. evidently it wasn't cleaned in a while. The breakfast was waffles and cold cereal. It wasn't worth the price.

Thank you for your feedback and I apologize for inconveniences you encountered. I understand that you had issues with our cleanliness and issues with the air conditioning unit. When the heat is turned on for the first time of the season, the dust on the heating elements burned off, creating a smoke or fire smell. Sometimes, the smoke smell is strong enough to activate the smoke detectors. I have notified my housekeeping staff and maintenance staff to fix these problems and stop them from happening in the future. I request you that if travels ever bring you back to Clarinda please try our hotel again.

For starters when trying to check in, there was nobody around. Front desk changed our room for some reason. I told her I took the room that the website said was available. Went to room and it smelled like a mix of cat pee and cigars. There was some kind of nose dropping that was stuck to the wall and didn’t use one pillow because there was blood on the one side of the pillow case. The jets in the hot tub, only half worked. The next morning at breakfast I tried to make a waffle and no mix, so I went and told the staff member who is obviously not a morning person. She couldn’t even communicate there wasn’t any. Other people there told her about the orange juice that was out and she didn’t seem happy that she had to get more. Around 8:30 ish there was two knocks at the door, housekeeping I answered and she asked if we were checking out today and I said yes we are getting our things together. We still had over 2 hours. Right before 10. Knocking again and my husband got up to answer and here she opened the door with her room key asking if we were going to be checking out. HELLO COMMUNICATE WITH THE FEONT DESK WHEN SOMEONE CHECKS OUT. Planned on going back up in that area but will not be staying there or any Super 8.

This incident happened before we took over, but now we have new management in place and are implementing a whole set of new standards that will take the living experience at Super 8 by wyndham clarinda to another level.As the new management, we are making every effort to show we care and are trying to meet every standard of cleanliness and attention to detail possible.Again we apologize and hope you return to enjoy the positive changes.

Fast, efficient check in
Fast efficient check in. Very nice clerk. She moved us to first floor at our request and the room was spacious with a jetted tub. TV had lots of channels. Quiet area around the motel.

Everything smelled like smoke
I had a non-smoking room, but everything smelled very strongly of smoke anyway, especially when I turned on the fan in the bathroom. At night it would get stronger, so I don’t know if someone was smoking in one of the rooms around me or not. It was so bad that when I got home, my clothes smelled like cigarette smoke. Remember, I was in a non-smoking room. Also, there was a large crack in the shower that it looks like they fixed by just pouring resin over it.

Well the keys wouldn't work so had to go back to the desk and have her rescan them. They still didn't work and the front desk person had to come to the room. She did get it after the second try. She was super nice btw! But then the TV didn't even work. Couldn't get any channels on nothing. Was not going to bother front desk again but that was frustrating. Stuff needs updated for sure.

The odor in the upstairs hallway was HORRRRRRRRIBLE!! It was rather cat pee or meth… but either way take your pick! the card reader to get into our room only worked occasionally… the faucet for the shower didn’t work either…. The hot tub looked extremely dirty but the pool was ok. Will not recommend nor stay here again!

What manager? So awkward
Horrible. A cable guy unlocked my door and tried to come in my room. I guess they were upgrading the cable but failed to tell me. Manager on duty didn’t care. So awkward to sit on the bed and let 2 men into my room to work on the cable. I would NEVER stay there again. Probably not a Super 8 ever again either.
