stayed in Clifton, TX to visit Meridian, TX where my Mom grew up and visit with relatives in Waco, TX. Very bad weather when we arrived and the power went out but the staff was great to give us candles, tell us where to get dinner, and were overall super. Power came back soon and we had a great time.

If only the hot-tub worked.Posted Oct 9, 2013
Pros: The old rock house in the corn field behind it - beautiful in morning sun. Very nice shower head, good hot water, fridge, etc.
Cons: Bacon and eggs for breakfast. A working hot-tub. A little bit bigger desk. I could hear the neighbors' voices, but luckily, they retired early.
Location: I was there for a funeral. We did do a little antiquing, though.
I asked at the front desk, and was told "No, the hot tub heater was broken." To which I replied, " Is it just universal - that all hotel hot-tubs are broken?" To which she said it was very expensive to keep them working. I wish had though to reply "It's also very expensive staying in hotels, which claim to have working hot-tubs, as one amenity to make it a little easier to shell out the cash for." But, it occurred to me later.

Pleasant stay in CliftonPosted Jun 3, 2013
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Fitness room could use more working machines (controls did not work on one) and some hand weights.
Location: Small town Texas; only nice hotel for miles
Very nice hotel with friendly staff. Nice pool. Fitness room a bit disappointing.

Not enough handicapped access rooms.Posted Nov 30, 2012
They only had 2 handicapped rooms, and they were both booked even thou we had requested one 7 days before, so we had to make do with a standard room. There was no ice machine on the 2nd floor. My wife wanted to sleep in the first two days, untill 12, so our room did not get cleaned, the service staff disapeared at noon both days ( It was thanksgiving). But other wise the hotel was great. For people with handicaps the hotel could use some improvement. But it is the best in town and I would use it again and hope for a handi capped room.

sufficient but not impressivePosted Nov 3, 2010
The staff is very nice and attentive but the property is so-so. The beds and pillows are uncomfortable and the towels are very cheap. It is clean, though, and it's pretty much the only choice in Clifton. Don’t count on breakfast filling you up either- it's pretty thin.

Not Impressed.Posted Nov 26, 2009
The hotel had no non-smoking rooms which is not acceptable in staying in a hotel during this time. I was told to open the window and let it air out which is not acceptable. I was very uncomfortable in this room due to smoking. I would not stay in this hotel again. I would drive to Waco for another type hotel.

Small town, great place to stay!Posted Nov 8, 2006
Best Western in Clifton is a beautiful, new motel just waiting to be discovered. For those on their way to Waco, I would highly recommend this motel for a restful, quiet stay before getting to the busy city.
