“Ideal central location and very good facilities”

Apart from our room not being ready at 1800 hours on our arrival, and there being a charge for WIFI which we felt was surprising in a hotel of this class, we were delighted with the hotel. The communal areas were very spacious and calm, and our room (deluxe on the 7th floor) was worth the extra price as it was very spacious, well equipped and had a private balcony. The hotel is very hard to find however and you need a good map of Cologne and detailed instructions (we didn't find the hotel's own instructions very helpful as there are few road signs visible). There is a secure underground carpark (fee payable) with plenty of space, but very narrow lanes to negotiate.

“Excellent location - Superior staff”

The Lindner seems to attract mostly business travellers who seek a quiet, comfortable hotel in a central Cologne location. It's only a short walk from the railway station and tourist attractions. The staff speaks excellent English and cheerfully tends to the guest's needs.

“Classy hotel near Cologne Centre”

Would recommend this hotel as it was very reasonably priced for the quality provided. It was close to the Hauptbhanhoff and cathedral less than 5 min walk away. All amenities were available. The Bar prices were very reasonable and the staff very helpful. There are plenyt of restuarants, bars and other cheap food outlets (whole range!) within walking distance. The Rhine is within 5 min walking distance and again there is a wide range of entertainment, bars and restaurants available. The museum is adjacent to the cathedral and well worth a visit. Transport is available via the Metro (Hauptbhanhoff) and the cream coloured licenced taxis are very resonably priced and drivers all extremely friendly and helpful.

“Superb Hotel”

I highly recommend this Hotel if you want somewhere to stay in Cologne that is central, affordable and also comfortable. Just a few minutes walk from the train station and cathedral (practically just a couple of streets away) it's ideally placed as a base for sightseeing. It's not too hard to find, just take a right after you exit the station (with the cathedral facing you) and then with the Deutsche Bank on the left take another right onto the street where the hotel entrance is, there were a long line of police cars parked on the left side of the street and there's a sign for the hotel so you'll know you're heading in the right direction. If you take a print out of a map of the city centre before you go it'll help you find the hotel even quicker. The trains pretty much run 24/7 and it's not too hard to figure out the ticket machines so don't worry if you have an early morning return flight to catch at the airport. The staff at the hotel were friendly and more than happy to help, I really enjoyed my stay in Cologne and would definately stay at the Lindner again.

“Very nice”

Nice modern room, comfortable bed. One minor problem was with the shower door, there is a gap where the door is mounted to the hinge. This results in a small puddle of water on the floor.

“Excellent Hotel”

This hotel was very central, just 20mins from the airport by taxi though the main station is very closeby and within walking distance. The hotel room was clean and spacious with all important blackout curtains! No tea/coffee facilities and unfortunately whilst we were there, the swimming pool/sauna was closed for renovation. The hotel staff were informative and pleasant. Our deal didn't include breakfast so we never ate there but there were plenty of cafes/bars/restaurants closeby. I would definitely recomend this hotel and Cologne makes a fabulous city break.

“Great hotel.....good location....”

We booked via expedia for three nights and two rooms, to have a short city break combined with seeing Peter Gabriel in concert at the Lanxess Arena just across the river (also within walking distance). The hotel was a little tricky to find, but it was within walking distance from the main railway station. The hotel was within 5 mins from the cathedral, perfect location for the city centre. Breakfast was included in the deal. Take a train (15mins) cost only 2.5 euros (much cheaper than a taxi). We did not use the health centre/swimming pool, we did not have enough time! The hotel was very clean, the staff very helpful, professional and courteous. I would certainly stay here again and thoroughly recommend this hotel.

“Lindner Hotel Dom Residence”

Although this hotel exudes modern euro comfort, it is conveniently located near the railroad station right in the old city. The pool and workout room had plenty of room and modern weight machines.

“Very good for price and European norms”

Close to the Hbf (train station) and other Cologne attractions. Good size, comfortable room compared to older European hotels with tiny rooms. We used the indoor pool and whirlpool a few evenings.
