Pro: The bed and pillows were comfortable. The location was convenient. The trail behind the hotel made for a nice walk. Con: There is an automatic daily charge for the room safe which you have to notify the desk in order to remove. The room safe was not anchored to anything....easy to pick up and walk out. The hot tub was not functional. I reserved a smoking room on Expedia, all rooms in the hotel are non-smoking.

Sorry choice

We were very disappointed in our stay. The room had an unpleasant odor. The excerise room was tiny and 2 of the 3 work out machines were broke. Staff was friendly though.

Great service, run down hotel

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: The staff were very helpful!
Cons: The smell of the hallways-too much mildew Fitness center upgrade A real swimming pool
Location: So much to do in Colorado Springs! In a day and a half we saw the Garden of the Gods and drove up Pikes Peak.
We were looking for a place to stay in Colorado Springs for a few days, and were on a tight budget, so tried the Comfort Inn. The staff were extremely helpful and were able to switch us to a Mountain View room-the other side faced a highway and was quite noisy. They were friendly and very approachable when we had questions (ie where to eat, how to get to local sites). The continental breakfast that came with the room was very good. There was a good selection of food (including eggs and waffles), and, as with the rest of the hotel, the staff were attentive. Unfortunately the hotel itself is quite run down. The hallways smell like mildew. Our room was clean, but also had a smell of mildew. Part of why we chose the hotel was because they advertised having a fitness center and swimming pool & hot tub. The pool was almost the same size as the hot tub, and impossible for an adult to swim in (it was maybe 6' x 6' square). The fitness center consisted of three very tired pieces of work out machines, in a very small and stuffy room. A nice surprise was a bike/walking trail behind the hotel that went along a river. Though short, it was a nice place to relax and see the mountains in the distance.

Okay for one night

Pros: Convenient location to food, shopping, and the USAFA. It's okay for people with pets.
Cons: The smell of pets really needs to be addressed.
Location: Food and shopping conveniently close.
The room was clean, but unfortunately smelled of pets. We had to buy an air freshening candle...

Hotel smells like cat or dog urine.

Pros: The person who cleaned my room did a good job, breakfast was good our last two days.
Cons: The carpets need to be cleaned if pets stay in the rooms! Employees need to learn to work and stay off the phones! Employee should not smoke in front.
Location: It was close to the highway.
The room smelled when we checked in, no other room was available. Free breeze pellets, we're put into the air-conditioner, so if we always had it on the room did not smell. The first morning at breakfast all the pans were empty. We asked for food, but it took 30mins before they filled the same dirty pans with the fresh food. The bed would have been fine for 1 night, but we were staying for 5. By the second mourning I had a back ache, by the third my son wanted to sleep on the floor. The 2nd morning breakfast was not any better than the first. The 3rd breakfast we came down early so we could get something to eat! The 4th and 5th days a different lady was there and breakfast was good! One of the employee's was in the hall talking on the phone for over a half hour almost every day. A couple of days she was sitting on the floor, I guess she was to tired to stand after all the "work" she was doing.

Several problems

Posted Jun 27, 2014
Hotel needs upgrading. Carpet in our room had many stains and was dirty. Toilet backed up the morning we were leaving. Stains on our duvet. Hallways are dingy. Pillows nice but the bed was hard. Liked the automatic entrance door. Breakfast was great.

Not my favorite place to stay.

Missing window screen. Every towel was damp and it smelled like smoke even though it was no smoking. Could also hear a dog barking.

Nice room

Our room was very clean and up to date. The breakfast was complete and very good. The pool and hot tub were in need of up keep. Over all, the room and staff made it a great place to stay and at a reasonable price.

Accepts pets

It was a good hotel for pets. However, it was dated and a very basic hotel. It served its purpose, but I wouldn't stay there again.
