Well we were traveling for about 12 hours so we weren't very picky but the room was smelling mold. The toilet was renovated. Safe parking and the people in the reception were very friendly. The restaurant was an experience and unfortunately they had in the menu duck and we got turkey! nothing bad with the turkey but....LOL. the guy serving was making an effort and we even left some tips....The wine was good and as I said we were really tired. For a night after a long drive...yes otherwise....no

As we arrived at about 7 pm and left the next morning around 8 am we can only say that the room was very comfortable and the staff very cheerful and helpful. Would hap[pily stay there again.

We enjoyed it for what it offered
We wanted a hotel within walking distance from train/bus that had a pool. Not easy to find as most hotels with pools are needing a car to get to. The hotel is not in the center of town but still walkable. This is not a fancy hotel but it ticked all our boxes. It could use updating but it is clean and we were not in Figures for fashion. Loved the coffee machine. Had several coffee con leche and even hot chocolate. Breakfast is fine. There is a bar and a restaurant too. We did not eat there other than breakfast which was 8€ each. The pool is not heated but nice to cool off in after a long day in the heat.

Hotel far from Figueres station
Good hotel, staff friendly , pool advertised was closed for maintainence one of the Main reasons for us to book the hotel. Rooom was spacious for family of 5 with a beautiful patio.

This is a hotel for those with an auto or other transportation as it is far from the center and no bus service. There are also no other restaurants nearby. The staff have limited English, were not particularly helpful and were very noisy late at night.

Good road trip stop
This is a good stop for a north south family car trip. It's the first stop (20km) from the French border and is easy to get to from the motorway. The hotel allows you to park your car loaded and your car, with all the family suitcases, inflatable rafts etc etc that your family require is secure in its car park. It is a ten minute walk to the town centre and the Dali museum. It makes a nice and convenient stop

Needs Updating
Our room was very outdated. They turned off the air conditioner in the room and it was hot. I went down to reception to inquire and they just looked at me, shrugged their shoulders and said "off". We had to open the windows and although they were screened to keep the flying insects out, it did let in all the traffic and swimming pool noise although it was quiet in the early morning. Also the walls are pretty thin 'cause we could hear the baby next door every time he/she cried. Also, would have been better if it was closer to the city centre.

Tired Decor
The French seem to get away with "Chabby Chic" but with the Spanish it just looks dirty. I asked for room 209 as I saw a review saying it was a suite so would suit my wife and I and 2 young children. The room was dated and wasn't cleaned properly, I found long black hairs in the bed, bathroom, toilet and basin. The tile skirting was broken If you are used to modern hotels with sound proofed walls and carpeted floors and halls then this won't be for you. The staff were very obliging and I think the other half of the hotel maybe more modern. Restaurant doesn't open until 8pm and the only other food option in this residential area was a kebab shop over the road. which was a novelty for the children but wouldn't go again.

Short walk to town centre, but Dali is God
Slightly away from centre of town but easy access to TGV/AVE Station Vilafant. Dali Museum dominates tourism but there are other museums and a nearby castle worth exploring. High speed trains give quick access to Barcelona but original station provides slower paced access to the region. Also good bus communications to nearby towns. Strolling, shopping, eating drinking provide usual small Spanish town experience. Strangely found a good supply of vinyl LPS, CDs etc and eating out was very reasonable. Found it difficult to get a really good cup of coffee, but maybe that's my taste! I use walking sticks and found that everyone was extremely courteous and helpful. The hotel is ideally suited to motorists having two car parks and easy access to the region. It also has an outdoor swimming pool for use in warmer weather. Excellent hotel restaurant where I was the sole attention of seven waiters one night! A bit overpowering! Cheaper options available at the bar. The hotel also caters for parties, receptions etc

The Hotel Trave was convenient to the Dali museum and was the reason for I stay at this hotel. There is free parking which made visiting the museum stress free plus convenient. This hotel has two buildings and we stayed across the street from the main hotel. For the price this was a good deal.

Family run hotel near to Dali Museum
We booked this hotel for proximity to the Dali Museum - it proved to be an excellent choice - family run hotel - within walking distance of museum - very helpful staff - superb restaurant - first evening we had the fixed price menu €18 including wine (a bottle between the two of us not just a glass) - we noticed lobster on the a la carte menu on request so we requested it for our second evening - probably the best lobster my wife has tasted - breakfasts were also very good - the owner took the trouble to ask if everything had been alright before we left - would definitely book this hotel again - decorations are a bit old fashioned but that did not trouble us - there is a small outside pool which was in use all day but not by us

A/C was adequate, room comfortable and clean, parking plentiful, some of our party enjoyed the pool (Note: there is no shallow end). Breakfast, for an additional fee, had lots of selection but service was poor.

Good value for money
The hotel is situated in a quiet residential area, close to Figures-Vilafant train station which is why we chose it (line runs directly to Paris Gare Du Lyon). It's quite far from the pretty town centre - about a 15 minute walk along a main road but that wasn't a problem. A big bonus for us is that it had a pretty decent sized outdoor pool (cold but clean) complete with spring board. The decor of the hotel is distinctly 1970s, but after staying at modern hotels with minimalist design and clean lines this was quite refreshing. Charming even. I would recommend it for a stop over (it was a good price), but couldn't imagine staying there for several nights.

The hotel is pleasant and about 10 minutes walk from the town centre. The room was a good size and air conditioned. The hotel also had a small outdoor swimming pool which the children loved and complimentary wi-fi throughout. The receptionist was extremely helpful. The bar area had a pleasant outdoor seating area, unfortunately the barman we dealt with on the two nights we were there was neither friendly or helpful. The first night he was quite put out because my daughter and I wanted to play pool just before 11 pm and only agreed to give us cues because we had already put our money in the pool table. On the second night he was indignant because my family asked if he could put the TV on so we could watch the closing ceremony of the Olympics. He reluctantly agreed then after about 15 minutes we were asked to drink up as bar was closed (it was about 23.50) and we were told we had to take our drinks and go back to our room to watch the ceremony. Finally when I got my credit card bill for my extras, I realized all my family's drinks for the bar had been charged charged to me in my "Home" Currency (GBP) Which used an inferior conversion rate. Under credit card rules the merchant is supposed to give me a choice of paying in Euros or GB £ but this barman did not offer me the choice and so either willingly or unwittingly, ripped me off...! To summarise, the (1 Star rated) barman lets the hotel down and needs to take a lesson in customer service from the (5 Star rated) receptionist.

Perfect when you travel with dogs. Excellent restaurant with an overwhelming wine cellar. The room had a balcony which is perfect when the weather is nice. Our criterias choosing hotels are: no 1 dog friendly, no 2 reasonably price. We will go back.

Better than I imagined
There is ample free parking and all of the in town attractions were walkable so it made the time in Figueres stress free. But that is only the beginning.......the staff were so helpful and easily switched to English. They had chosen a room to my wishes - a quiet one - but when I wanted another they happily switched it. I arrived prior to check in but they made that no problem too. I checked in and the room was not quite clean so I left my luggage in the room and took off exploring. On return everything was very clean and I settled in. I enjoyed having a balcony and sitting outside in the evening air. At first I was concerned about the noise of being near the elevator, but with the courteous guests it was no problem. Overall it was an excellent stay and a good value.

Pas de chauffage en hiver !
A notre arrivée la chambre n'etait pas chauffée, nous avons voulu mettre le chauffage qui fonctionne avec clim reversible mais toujours pas d'air chaud malgré l'intervention d'un personnel de l'établissement, nous sommes restés sans chauffage et avons dû demander des couvertures supplémentaires, le directeur devait nous contacter le samedi mais toujours sans nouvelle ! Je deconseille !!
