The place itself was ok. One of the workers stole our AirPods. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Bed was comfortable.

Fantastic. Great value. Great location. Exceptionally clean and quiet. The friendly staff are very accommodating. It is a beautiful boutique hotel. The onsite restaurant is very nice and the hotel is walking distance to countless other nearby beachfront restaurant options. Highly recommended.

Nice stay for our family on our 1st trip to Dakar
The staff was very friendly and always willing to help us have a great stay. We enjoyed the meals we ate at the hotel as well. They made it easy for us to navigate Dakar as first time visitor

La Residence is Impressive
La Residence is a great hotel. Clean. Friendly. Peaceful. It was a great refuge from the hustle and bustle of Dakar. I could smell the cleanliness on entering the premises. I highly recommend this place.

One of my favorite hotels ever
This was my favorite of the four hotels I stayed at in Dakar. The room and the hotel in general were beautiful, well maintained and super comfortable. Lots of areas to relax around the hotel, including the lobby, bar area, dining areas, the pool, etc. Definitely would suggest that everyone give it a try.

Each staff member was wonderful. I stayed a total of 3 days. I would have stayed two more but they were sold-out. This place felt like a home away from home. Continental breakfast was good each morning. I ate dinner there one night. I had stead, salad and fries. DELICIOUS!

clean boutique hotel
boutique hotel great for an off the path place. very clean and very comfortable bed. The hotel is not actually on the beach and some rooms do not have ocean views. The grounds are small, intimate with several small areas in the main reception area for sitting and relaxing.

All good except for the exchange rate issues! I pay in $ they convert in euros then charge in local currency FCFA. In the end I loose so much wit all these transactions!

Cry clean place and I felt at home in the location. It is best to pay directly if you don’t want to be involved in the exchange rate discussions. Overall very nice place and I would stay here again!

The French owners, husband and wife, were gracious and their hotel is beautiful with a short walk to the ocean with good restaurants. The suit that I got had a private balcony which I use every night. The staff were very friendly and professional. You can always find something wrong wherever you stay, but the only thing I found wrong they corrected immediately the following day while I was at work. The restaurant and the chef is fantastic. I ate most of my meals there because of convenience and good menu excellently prepared. I will definitely stay there the next time I go to Dakar!

Check in and out were efficient and easy. The pristine rooms and the overall quietness of the place are the best feature of La Residence. (Had one on the second floor with a little balcony). I was disappointed with the pool as it was not clean the day I was ready for a swim, but did not check again on other days. Service could be a bit more hospitable.

I’ve stayed here several times, when I come to Dakar for work. It’s a great place for those on business or holidays, as it’s very quiet, comfortable, and located near the oceanfront. I’ve stayed in various types of rooms - from standard to a suite - and found the amenities in all of them to be great. Highly recommend.

Better double check you really have a reservation!
We had one reservation for the first three nights and then this separate one. we arrived at 12:30 am after long travels and they said they did not have our reservation. I showed them on my phone and had it printed out. they said they could only give us a room for the first two nights and did not even honor the rate we had. We had to move to the confernce hotel at the last minute and that ended up costing $300 per night per room. The customer service was non existent.

Was in Senegal for business and this hotel was perfectly fine. The bed was a bit hard for my liking, and the towels (though clean) seemed rougher than traditional bath towels. Overall a good hotel.

This hotel is 2 blocks' walking to great restaurants, has a fantastic outdoor space, ample covered lounging space, quiet, and the rooms are good-sized. And their is someone there 24 hours, ready to fix any issues you might have. I don't give it top marks for a few reasons: 1) I had a horrible ant problem in my bathroom. There were dead carcasses all over the floor that perhaps housekeeping should've notified the staff about. Once I asked them to take care of the groups of probably hundreds of ants on the ceiling, they didn't come back in hordes. But, still some ants (meh, no big deal). They really need to put ceiling fans in the rooms. During the cool season (and, it gets cold), the room is stuffy, so needs some ventilation, but the AC is too cold. And no heavy blanket in the room, just in case. The restaurant has a limited dinner menu, but they might be able to make you something else, if you ask. Really nice breakfast and dessert (with a few things on offer). I feel like they need some slightly better wine on offer. I stay at a similar lodge in town, and they have much better wine. :) Finally, they have fantastic wifi. But, overall, my favorite aspect of the hotel is the outdoor and lounging space, and great location to beach restaurants.

Outstanding Choice
Can’t recommend this hotel more highly. It is an oasis of peace in Dakar. Spotlessly clean room and public areas. Not a speck of dust is hard to achieve in dusty Dakar. Peaceful garden area for relaxing, very obliging staff. We had a superior room which was large and well decorated. Great choice.

Great Business Hotel Close to Most
Overall, the hotel is a great place to stay. Quiet, excellent wi-fi, has a pool and nice outdoor grounds, good location for those working with donors, implementing partners, and some embassies. Walking distance to several restaurants, but they are all on the beach, so sort of seafood oriented. Which isn't a bad thing, but not too varied. Hotel breakfast very nice, but expensive. Dinner is fine, but also a bit pricey and does not include dessert (whereas other similar hotels do). The wine is not very good at all, which is a bit surprising to me. But, the rooms are VERY nice, comfortable, a/c works correctly. The bathrooms have great counter and storage space and nice hot shower water. Each room has a nice patio area with great table and relaxing seating. My favorite was the grassy area around the pool with nice lounge chairs. This hotel books up quickly, so do not hesitate to book here. Airport shuttle service to new (very far away airport) a good value, all things considered.
