“Very nice and comfy”
Nice location, very clean room, great staff...and as always the best cinnamon rolls. Very accomodating for our dog as well.
“Desk Staff needs work”
I arrived with my grandkids to check into our room after 3:00 p.m. I waited until the desk clerk was done visiting with the manager and 2 other people. The desk clerk finally greeted me and proceeded to answer the phone while I waited some more. I was then advised that my room was not clean and I could wait. Another woman came up to the desk and told me she had been waiting since 9:00 a.m. as her employer needed her there for a meeting and was assured a room for her as early as 9:00 a.m. The clerk advised me that the rooms were not clean as they had been full the night before. I did not feel that was my problem. We were given someone else's room. The room was very nice, the maids were very friendly. The pool area was nice, clean and the pool attendants were great. The next morning we had a wonderful breakfast. The variety was wonderful and we really enjoyed that. We went back and swam for an hour before we got ready to leave before 11:00 a.m. The desk clerks we encountered were all rude and not very well versed in the aspect of service. The managers and desk clerks need to follow the rest of the staff around to figure out how to be pleasant, accomodating and service oriented.
“Don't use the hottub”
Desk clerks were excellant - friendly, capable. Room was perferct - clean nothing missing for glasses, etc. However, we had picked this motel because it had a hottub and pool. The chlorine in the hottub was so strong that every one who sat in the one corner started choking and coughing (we were in it for about 20 minutes- we couldn't stay longer). If you sat anywhere in the hottub, your eyes started burning & watering. The breakfast provided was excellant and they kept it coming. So if are staying & don't care about the pool/ hottub - it's great. But if using that is a consideration for you, keeping looking.
“Holiday Inn Express in Brookings, SD”
The hotel staff from the front desk to the breakfast buffet staff were very friendly and helpful. When I needed injet paper for my printer to print out my e-ticket they quickly supplied it. When I had to extend my stay an extra two days due to flight cancelations, they not only provided me with the necessary rooms but charged me the same Expedia discounted rate. I would most definitely plan on staying at this hotel again, if I need accomodations in Brookings, SD.
“Stayed in several in Brookings, this is one of the best!”
We've stayed in several hotels in this area, as there are always several to choose from. This is definitely one of the better choices. Staff was helpful, room was very clean and comfy. Did not try the breakfast buffet so can't comment on that. Also, didn't use the pool so not sure. Property was bright and welcoming. Would highly recommend.
“Would Definately Recommend”
The hotel was clean, friendly, as well as convenient to food and the University. The indoor water park was a nice touch that would make it great for families with children. We will stay again when we visit Brookings.

Although not the cheapest, it was a nice place to stay with helpful receptionists and clean, quiet rooms.
