First, we had a bug problem. The owner was not aware of the issue beforehand so we figure the cleaning crew/previous guests left a window or door open for too long at one point There were many large junebugs and I have pictures to back it up but VRBO won't let me upload them. The main level bedroom had 5 alone at one point and it took a good bit to kill them all. I informed the owner during our stay and he said, "We do get a crop of flies in the spring in Colorado, I can send the maid over to check it out". We did not take him up on the maid coming out since that would not do anything. The owner then had the audacity to claim this after our stay, "If I knew you weren’t satisfied or wanted further action I would’ve sent an exterminator over or whatever you wanted. You can’t complain after your trip and ask for a refund? Makes you look like a scammer and I’m sick of it." Two things wrong here. One, he recommended a maid, never said exterminator. Two, a scammer because I asked for a discount after our stay? If this was a hotel, it would have been entirely appropriate to document the issue during stay and then when checking out, ask for compensation. The owner is a hot head because I received this right after, "If you were so offended with it and get the hell out of my house. Don’t ever come back or stay in my property please good day".
Jeff does not have to worry as I will not be renting from him again and I suggest you stay away from this incredibly mediocre rental. You can find better.
