Overall, I would stay somewhere else if I were to visit Dresden again. The hotel's service was lacking. There was no shampoo, conditioner, and body soap in my room. I asked at the front desk if they had any. The bespectacled receptionist opened a drawer under the desk and gave me shampoo and body lotion and said, "We have no conditioner and body soap. Is it okay?" It wasn't, so I asked if she could ask the cleaning staff. She called but told me they didn't have any, either. I stayed there for two nights without conditioner and body soap. They didn't even try to bring them to me later, which I found very odd. Not that those things were absolutely necessary, but it was nevertheless inconvenient not to have them. Rooms: My room at Penck Hotel Dresden was spacious and comfortable. It was adequate, if not outstanding. The small sink countertop was somewhat inconvenient, but it wasn't a big deal. Walkability: The hotel is pretty close to Dresden Mitte station, which can be convenient when you go out of town by train, but you need to take the local train to HBF or Dresden Neustadt to catch express trains. Somewhere closer to main tourist attractions would probably give you a better experience of Dresden. Food & drinks: The location of the hotel looked good on the map because of its proximity to Zwinger, but I didn't realize that there were very few dining options around the hotel. There was a substandard Sushi restaurant in front of the hotel, and that's pretty much it. You need

In order to reduce waste in our rooms we decided to equip each room with a big bottle of soap which serves as shampoo, soap for hands and body soap. Indeed, we only have small sample sizes of conditioner at the front office, we regret that this was inconvenient for you.Our hotel is located 10 minutes by feet from the historical city centre but there are some restaurants close by. The room was not cleaned after the first night. I only stayed for two nights - so you don't clean for short periods like this? The liquid soap was available in only one place, at the main water sink, but not under the shower. I had to move it between the two places to use it. NO GOOD. The overall setup of the room is very impractical with poor lighting. CLOSET SPACE is very small and hidden, not clear how to get to it. I had to swing open the table to get to it. Otherwise the service was friendly, and the location is great.

Quirky hotel
We stayed here for 1 night as we were visiting Dynamo Dresden for a match. The hotel is a little way from the station but walkable up through the town, there is also a tram that takes you most of the way. This hotel is very quirky as its designed around an artist I believe but the hotel was very comfortable and clean. Staff were very friendly and we were able to check in early as we arrived in good time. The hotel is situated nearer to the old town but is around 10-15 minute walk into the shopping area and around 20-30 min walk from the stadium. The bar area was clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The barman was called Michael Eberle and he made us feel very welcome and was friendly to talk too. Would stay again

Great spot, small rooms
A cute, modern hotel... but miniscule rooms. Perfect for a short stay. Walkable part of town which is close to attractions and felt safe to come back to late at night.

Very pleasant experience!
We were positively surprised by this hotel. It's very close to the main attractions and in a quiet area. The service was good, the room was very pleasantly decorated and all for a decent price. I definitely recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Dresden!

Dresden visit
Booked this hotel because friends were staying there. I had a really really nice room and I very much enjoyed its corner location. Breakfast was tasty. And as a special bonus the hop-on-hop-off tourist bus stopped right in front of the hotel. I'd happily stay there again. (That bus trip is actually really worthwhile for Dresden, especially if you can get a ticket for a couple of days; the ticket includes many additional extras on top of the bus trip)

Excellent choice for Dresden: comfy, clean, art work by Penck hanging all over the hotel. 10 minutes to famous sites, Zwinger etc. or street car right outside. Street car the other direction takes you to the 'other' Dresden, including Kunsthofpassage.

Good location. Good room.
Hotel is very comfortable. The heat was on high when we got in so it did take some time to cool the room and get the heat turned off but after that, no complaints. Location is easy to get to and park. Beside a tram station and within walking for most things central.

I thought I am getting a good deal when I saw the 4 stars and the 4.0 rating but I was too optimistic. It was still a good deal though. The rooms are noisy and ours had no view. Maybe it was due to the price that guests were shouting in the hallway at 2AM

Good location. Next to the tram stop. Walkable distance to the center. The breakfast was great. Room was clean and comfortable. I would recommend it for anyone visiting Dresden!

Everything about the hotel is pretty good, its is close to transportation, and a close walk to lots of good food. The design though if your like me and need to work from the hotel room at times is not good. The provided chair is uncomfortable, and the desk is attached to the closet door on a roller so it moves as you type. The desk is not very big if you need to spread out. The staff and restaurant are good so if you just need a place to spend a few nights, it is not a bad deal.

Honestly did not know a thing about this place, and it was superb. A 5 minute walk to the old town. The hotel is great. The breakfast superb. Top notch.

overall hotel is not bad. Just 2 things: we asked iron twice and never got it. Lady in the bar was extremely rude to us with no reason. Nevertheless we tipped her :)

Fun design to all elements of the hotel interiors. Clean and very quiet neighbourhood, under ten minute walk to the altstadt area and 25 minute walk or a quick tram to the 'newtown' area. Excellent base to explore both sides of beautiful Dresden. Really relaxing stay. Lovely complementary hot drinks in room too.

Nice memory of Dresden

If you love art works
We were here for 2 comfortable nights. It takes about 10 minutes to get to this hotel using no.11 street car. Upon arrival at the train station we bought 3 days family card for 30 euros. Breakfast was very nice. The bed was kind of soft for us.

Great hotel in a great place
Great choice of hotel, on a tram route, just out of the noisy tourist area, within walking distance of central Dresden. The hotel is quirky, and spacious.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities, room comfort
Reasonable stay.
It looks a little old but clean and interesting decoration like a art gallery. The breakfast is amazing. Only one thing i had a difficulty to find this hotel with my mistake. Anyway, overall to stay comfortable.

Disliked: Staff & service
Train your staff to be more attentive to customers
Got room changed but was given one facing inside with view of buildings. Asked for staff to help with public transportation after checking out and was told after the second question that their computers were down even though they were working on it. It wasn't like their were customers waiting either.
