“a good place to stay”

Astral Village is a place to relax after a day of touring. It has a lovely pool and offers snacks during the day, programs for children. The rooms are on the small side as compared to US hotels but they are clean and well maintained. the rooms are in a cottage setting surrounded by palm trees and flowers and are all on one level. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel provides a great breakfast buffet. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the beach and promenade. The #15 bus loops around the tourist area and there is a bus stop across the street from the hotel.

“Pros and Cons”

Overall, the hotel is in a great location and I very much loved the design of the place being a "garden style" hotel with all ground floor rooms. The breakfast was excellent. I enjoyed the lounge area by the pool. I was a little disturbed when I first checked in and my key card didn't work. Although the desk clerk (Moshe) sent someone to help, there were no great apologies made. After a while I asked if I could just have another room, which they agreed to. I notice that when we made the switch, Moshe gave me that same key card without doing anything to it ... which didn't work of course. After yet another walk back to the front desk he reprogrammed the card and also gave me an actual key, both of which finally worked, thank God. Although the room was clean, it was certainly "dated". I did not like having 2 twin beds pushed together instead of a double bed. Overall the hotel was good and in a great location but certainly not great.
