This cabin is a classic, intimate A-frame with some nice, modern updates.
The main bed was VERY comfortable to sleep in, as were the accompanying sheets and pillows. Water quality is top-notch, great-tasting, no rusty old fixtures or sinks here, plenty of water pressure and hot water for taking showers in the tall, spacious stall!!! In addition, the flooring is nicely finished and barefoot-friendly while preserving its rustic origins.
There is a smaller dorm-size refrigerator inside, and outside in the rear covered entry is where you’ll find a full-size unit with freezer compartment and trays for making ice.
Wi-fi Internet is available, though speeds are somewhat modest. It’s suitable for e-mail, general browsing and catching up on social media, but don’t expect long videos to download.
The attached covered parking area is a great feature, spacious enough to fit large vehicles—even a modest trailer—and comes in handy when loading and unloading in foul weather.
At one point we had so many bugs gumming up the windshield due to traveling just after sunset that it was a hazard to driving, so having a long hose with sprayer available was immensely useful for removing dust and insect remains from our vehicle. Dish soap and a washcloth worked well, but you may want to consider packing some green scrubbies for this gruesome task!
We visited during unusually hot weather and found the window A/C unit more than adequate for cooling off the building until the outside air came down to comfortable sleeping temperatures. A nice, quiet portable vertical fan is available, and the main room also sports a ceiling fan to keep things cool and comfy.
In the morning you’ll enjoy majestic views of the mountains to the South off the shaded back porch while sipping a hot beverage from the available coffee maker and contemplating breakfast, and evenings bring the convenience of a large grill for cooking up the day’s catch!
All in all a wonderful experience and a very gracious host.
