Northern Cottage
We had a wonderful 5 day vacation at this cottage. My husband was so excited about the fishing. The bass were hungry. He caught 9!!!! We enjoyed our stay.

Quiet get-away!
This cottage is a very special place. It has magical qualities. It’s perfect for the couple that wants to get away and have quiet time together. We so enjoyed our time together at the cottage. We had a sunny day and a rainy day. It was a slow, quiet rain perfect for staying in or a short walk. It was nice to experience both. There are so many things to do that there is no reason to get bored. We grilled out one night and then drove into Albion for dinner on the second night. Albion is within a 10 minute drive. A very nice little town. This is actually my second’s visit to the cottage, and I cannot wait to visit again! Next visit is to see the snow on the trees and the ground. I can only imagine how beautiful it’s going to be! The hostess is so kind and has everything just perfect for you!

Awesome place.
Very quaint and private. The grounds are roomy with a private lake for fishing and kayaking. The cottage is spacious with amenities provided. The hosts are perfect and bring fresh eggs in the morning. This was our 4th year staying here.

From the moment I entered the property I was mesmerized! Everything was perfect. The moment I looked at the front door and stepped through I relaxed. The inside was charming. I quickly looked at all the rooms. The screened in sunroom on the side quickly became my favorite room! Each morning I made my way out here and sat and enjoyed listening to the wildlife. Hearing the peacock in the distance was perfect! The grounds were also mesmerizing! Everywhere you turned there was something to look at or to sit down and relax. A little fishing shed where you could clean your fish after you caught it in the lake. Because there was a boat to row out in the lake and fish out of. A little tea house to sit in to read and relax. Walk around the lake, seats to fish as you walk, ending with the chickens, silkies, and peacocks. There was more, but you’ll need to go out there and discover it for yourself! It’s beauty cannot be rivaled! Did I say honeymoon spot?

Hidden gem
Relax hike enjoy nature at it best! Beautiful well maintained trails. Enough to spend hours wandering around and finding treasures along the way. The lake, which is larger than it looks and is clean and safe for swimming with lots of piers to jump off. The lawn leading to the lake was mowed and a perfect place to play fetch. The house was very clean and the amenities were more than adequate. Much larger than expected. Very comfortable and welcoming. Rebecca and Don, owners, were the best host. My first morning, Rebecca brought me fresh eggs for breakfast. There raise peacocks pheasant and hens of all types. Rebecca and Don showed me around the birds and the historical buildings they have saved and remodeled for all sorts of uses like hen houses and pens for the other birds. A must see! Kids will love finding frogs and all sorts of fun critters. Bugs were non-existent; which allowed sitting outside and looking at stars or having a fire in the fire pit. Overall, great people who will do anything to help make your visit more enjoyable. I enjoyed many conversations with Rebecca and Don. Please consider this property for a family (plenty of room for kids to sleep). This is not a primitive property, you have everything you need from 3 fireplaces, internet, large tv, lots of sitting areas inside, outside, and a nice screened in porch and a full stocked kitchen. If you go, you will return! I know we will. Thank you!

Peaceful
A unique and peacefully quite property. Go out on the lake in the rowboat and catch some fish or just drift along and take in natures activities. You can hike around the lake and explore and check out all the buildings if you wish. They even have peacocks and chickens. The house is clean and well maintained. You will find everything you need except groceries. If you like peace and quiet this place has your name on it.

A PRIVATE PARADISE
This place was perfect! Secluded & private. The hosts were friendly & accomodating. Loved the fresh eggs, walking around the lake, the animals, and my husband loved the fishing!! He caught so many fish!! The use of the paddleboat & row boat is a big plus too! New fridge & stove too! Loved the comfy bed. Small town not too far away if you want to get out for awhile. We'll be back.

Quiet retreat
Had a nice 5 day getaway that wasn’t too far. Caught 13 large bass. A nice walking trail around the lake that had plants, little piers if you didn’t want to take the boat provided along with lovely birdhouses scattered about. There was a nice swing near the shore & hammock as well as couple Adirondack chairs. We didn’t start a fire in the evenings but there was a firepit if you were so enclosed. Very nice hosts , Don & Rebecca. We enjoyed meeting the beautiful peacocks & chickens! The hosts also supplied us with farm fresh eggs! Would highly recommend this little getaway! Bed was very comfortable, kitchen was well equipped with cooking supplies and was decorated beautifully inside👍❤️

Relaxing Location
We chose the spot for its quiet and country atmosphere. We were not disappointed. The place was full of wildlife, the pond was beautiful and the fountain in it was very relaxing. We watched a small painter turtle and bull frog on the shore each morning and evening. We definitely would like to visit again. And spend more time at the property this time.

A wonderful, unique, " magical" property
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this well- kept, wonderfully decorated, quiet and peaceful cabin. The lake and trail around it were peaceful and pleasant. The proximity to Chain O Lakes S.P. allowed us to hike for longer distances and kayak. We hope to return in the Fall. Loved the little decorated cabins and sheds nearby, and thenpeacocks and chickens.

It was just like going back to our childhood cabin on the lake. Warm and cozy felt like stepping back in time. Rebecca and Don were great. The fresh eggs were out of this world. We are definitely going back in June. Very quite and peaceful. A great place to decompress. Highly recommend.

A Must Stay!
One of the best weekends was spent at this charming cottage. Rebecca and Don were such lovely hosts. The property is off the beaten path and so quirky and charming. We fell in love with it! Our dog was in heaven, as well. Walk right out to the back to your little piece of Heaven with the lake, trees and everything in between! We absolutely cannot wait to return! Always A Great Time!
This was our second visit, and we had a wonderful time! It was cold and rainy when we arrived, and a fire was waiting for us so the house was warm and welcoming. We take our two small dogs with us, and this is a great place for them too! Looking forward to visiting again!

Amazing weekend getaway
My boyfriend and I were looking for a weekend getaway. We took the recommendation from my friend and we are soooo glad we did. Rebecca and Don are amazing hosts! So welcoming and treat you like family they haven't seen in a while. The grounds are absolutely amazing. You can see the love and care that has put into this perfect hidden gem! The lake is absolutely beautiful what a great way to pass time and forget about life stress. We caught a few fish and a really big bass! The leaves on the tree tops were just turning into the beautiful fall colors which made all the views so much more beautiful. If you are looking for a stress free getaway look no further. No hot tub
Our dog slip his collar and got loose. For over an hour. First and foremost I am very grateful to the owners for helping me with him. However, one of my must haves for our vacation was a hot tub. It was listed and pictured in the listing but there was no hot tub. The owners are very close to cottage, not secluded. We've been to listings that are actually secluded, this is not. The condition of the water was horrible. Looked more like an oily lagoon in my opinion. Left after 2 hours of checking in. After dog got loose, no hot tub and could t sit out by water to enjoy because of the looks of it. Will be very cautious if we ever use VRBO again.

There is no hot tub in our listing. People were very loud and rude. We take a lot of time and expense on upkeep of our lake. The main residence is 250 feet from cottage and enshrouded with trees and privacy fence. Two sides of the property is state park and nearest neighbor is half a mile. Rules were not followed by bringing a dog that was over 40#.

This was the most relaxing vacation i have had for a long time. Of all the places i have stayed this was by far the homiest. They definitely go the extra mile to make you comfortable. Caught so many fish our fingers were sore from taking them off the hook :)

The definition of a lake is 1 acre. Our lake is 3 1/2 acres. As shown on our pics the fish are plentiful & large. We strive to accommodate everybody & take pride in our property. Sorry that we are not the city environment you are accustomed to.

Best Vacation Rental

Dogs first vacation with us
We all had a great time. The state park is great we took the dog on a ride in a canoe and experienced the hiking. The cottage was so relaxing. I loved reading on the screened in porch and the sunroom. My husband went out in the morning and at night fishing and caught many fish he is a catch and release guy so dont worry there's lots of fish left. We would go back again.

Private Paradise
Was a wonderful getaway with my youngest son. We had a blast! My son lost count somewhere around 40 fish caught he said. It was harder keeping him supplied with bait than anything else. Great place, great location, wonderful owners!! I would recommend this rental to anyone looking to fish, grill, and just get away from everything and everyone! Two thumbs up all around!!

Quiet retreat
The cottage is cute. I enjoyed the screened in porch to sit and relax in. The walk around the lake was nice. It ended up in the owners area where they have chickens, peacocks and pheasants. Lovely quiet cottage
Rebecca was marvelous with everything about our stay. Very inviting, warm country property. The wireless wasn't working when we visited, but we did have a serviceable cell signal (2 bars LTE4 on Verizon & T-Mobile) so might be worth considering bringing a backup mobile hotspot if connectivity is critical. But overall we relaxed and enjoyed our time. Owners even provided fresh eggs from their chickens! Thanks again Rebecca. We would love to come back.

This was our first VRBO rental and it was perfect for our weekend away! We loved the walk around the pond, the view from the sunroom and the secluded location. Rebecca was kind and very sweet. We would recommend this spot to anyone!

Charming and comfortable
Hands down the best sleep I've ever had at a rental. We travel with a big dorky dog, and he gives 5 barks for the trails on the property that he could blitz through off leash enjoying the water and mud. Thankfully there was a hose at the front door.... Full kitchen with just about everything you could need. It wasn't great weather wise for this trip, but we were cozy in the glassed in lower level looking out over the water. There's a state park a few miles away. This was the perfect spot to get away from it all and relax.

This was a quiet getaway for my husband and myself. The cottage was very cute and had everything it said. The grounds were well kept and nice to walk around. My husband enjoyed the row boat and the lake and I was able to have some time to just relax and read. The owners, Rebecca and Don, were very friendly and interesting to talk with. They were readily available if we had any needs and even provided fresh eggs from their chickens for our breakfast. We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone wishing to enjoy nature and the peace and quiet!

A tranquil getaway
What a great find! This property was the perfect getaway. Minutes from Chain-O-Lakes State Park and hiking and kayaking. Wonderful, fully stocked cabin with great amenities for relaxing, including a quiet screened porch. We sat by the pond and just enjoyed each others company. Rebecca and Don were very friendly and even provided us with farm fresh eggs. We will be back!

Must stay
Rebecca and Don's cottage and property is cozy and private. It is the perfect getaway for relaxing and enjoying nature. We had a party of 3 and there was plenty of space for us to enjoy everything this cottage has to offer. We took walks around the private lake that ends at the back of the owner's property. We were greeted by chickens, ducks, peacocks, and pheasants. The owners came out to share stories about the property. Don and Rebecca were perfect hosts. This cottage is a must stay if you enjoy seclusion, cozy nights by a fire, fishing, and unwinding from a hectic pace. We enjoyed our time here and will definitely be returning.

My Getaway
Oh how I Loved staying at this Hidden Getaway! So Peaceful and relaxing... Just what I needed! Had a great time fishing and enjoying the Lake... Mostly smaller bluegills is all I caught other than a nice Bass! Great time fishing for sure... Did some cooking on the fire pit and enjoyed my time by the lake a lot! The cottage was in great shape, the yard and beautiful flowers everywhere were well groomed and felt like a little paradise! Highly recommend if you are looking to regroup and get a piece of mind... Totally Satisfied! Rebecca and Don were amazing too! Even brought me some fresh eggs from their chickens! Lovely people,,, might have to come and see them again soon!!

hidden valley = hidden gem!
We had a wonderful experience with the place and the host. The place is perfect for a private / quiet people like us. The cottage was spacious, clean, organized and comfortable. We ate breakfast at the sun room, nice view of the lake and the back of the property- thank you or the fresh eggs and tomatoes, perfect ingredients for the omelet! We had fun at the lake and our first time using the row boat. Our dog even loved it! My wife had her private time at the she-shed while me and our pup explored the trail around the lake. Also best spot to take photo of the beautiful sunset. We were not able to see the free range chicken but it’s been a long time since I heard a rooster crow! Peaceful Bungalow Getaway
Our check in was smooth and the hosts were very pleasant;). The air conditioning was cool and there a fireplace that was lit. There was a nice ambiance, it was decorated tastefully, and we enjoyed the screened in porch and outside deck. The property was cleared so we could take a walk around the small private lake. We used a row boat that was available to go out on the lake. A thought of bringing our kids next time to fish and view the various animals (ducks, etc) passed our minds, although we enjoyed our private time away. This is a great location to read a book, draw, or write. We enjoy playing tennis and found some nice courts about 15 minutes away at the high school in Albion. Also, there is a nice Antique store and a friendly brewery we visited in Albion as well. Overall, we had a nice peaceful time. Our only suggestion is that better cell reception would be helpful.

Peaceful retreat before back to school
We truly enjoyed our family get away before our kids head back to school. The property looks just like the pictures and it is just a tucked away cute cottage. My kids and I loved doing the row boat, their first time. My daughter and I also did the canoe. They had a trail around the lake to walk our dog. They were very welcoming and even provided the firewood for the fire pit, which we used the first night for foil packs. We enjoyed exploring the property and we were able to see their puppies, peacocks, and chickens. If you want to just fish and relax this is a great spot to do it. My kids and husband caught a bunch of blue gills. We were lucky to hit a local fest, Onion Days so we shopped and ate there. On a rainy day the hostess sent us a suggestion of something indoor to do, but we just played Pictionary and it cleared up. They thought of everything to make us comfortable and shared some farm fresh eggs too!

Great cottage with beautiful lake & nature ❤️
We enjoyed our stay very much . This is perfect place for a getaway. The cottage is very clean and has everything you need and more , so many beautiful views from the flowers , trees and the lake . We went fishing everyday on the row boat and enjoyed ourselves each nigh by the fire pit over looking at the lake .We have done a lot of traveling but , this rental was the best we have ever stay in .Rebecca and Don are fantastic they made our stay so comfortable and easy ,we even ate fresh eggs from the chickens that they have ( yummy ) .
