Nice Hotel in Great Location

Pros: See above.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: See above.
Nice hotel conveniently located to shopping, flea market, restaurants, bars and an interesting marina. Beach great and required a short fun boat ride to get to it. Short like 10 minutes. Four very nice pools.

Great hotel lovely location

Posted Mar 26, 2014
I enjoyed staying at pelican bay resort. They had great staff very helpful to any questions you might have. The only problems we had was when we ordered a microwave they never had one avail all five days we were there. I'd recommend requesting one previous to arrival hard to get one in your room few avail. Also hot tub was never actually hot more luke warm. Overall pools and room were not amazingly well kept but comfortable. I'd recommend this resort to anyone that wants to be in a central location. Walking distance to casino, restaurants, mrkt place, beaches, tours/activities, etc. This was the Best vacation I've ever had. Would go back :)

Very nice rooms and quiet with beautiful grounds

Posted Mar 25, 2014
Loved staying at pelican bay but even though we has been a repeat vacationer they didn't upgrade us this time, so sad because the rooms and suite are beautiful! We enjoyed a quiet beautiful five days. The water taxi was in repair but the hotel hired taxis to bring us back and forth to the beach. Which was lovely. I will book there again

Pelican Bay Resort needs help

Posted Mar 23, 2014
Pros: The view from our room, the pool and the breakfasts.
Cons: Fix or replace the air conditioner. Fix or replace the ceiling fan. Paint the whole room. Paint and fix the patio railing.
Location: Very near Lucaya Marketplace which was nice for a day or two. There is a water taxi to a nicer beachfront. Pool swimming is very available.
Upon check-in we found ourselves in a first floor room that would require the sliding door to be closed/locked all the time. We asked for a different room and was given one on the third/top floor. It had a beautiful view of the canal and we could open our sliding door onto the patio attached to our room. It was quite serene except when the party boats were passing by or when the music wasn't blasting from the marketplace. We loved our view and it really was important to us. However, the air conditioner was faulty and the ceiling fan only worked on high speed. The maintenance person didn't know what to do. Noise and temperature control were a problem. The walls in the bathroom hadn't been painted in years and the railing on the patio was broken. It was obvious that the hotel needed major upgrading. The door to the room needed WD forty badly. It stuck and made alot of noise when opening/closing. The room door also needed a paint job. Looked like bugs stuck all over it. The breakfasts were very nice. They were in a separate bldg on the top 4th floor. We could eat outside overlooking the canal which was great. The food was very good. The staff were cordial but not real helpful. We had an overall lovely time and it's because of the view, the weather, and the good food. The overall service on the island though was poor especially in the restaurants including the hotel restaurant, Sabor.

Hotel room overlooks the canal

Posted Mar 19, 2014
Pros: Easy access. We could enjoy the entertainment at Bones Bar from our balcony...very nice,
Cons: In general just some updating
Location: above
Very pleasant staff. Everything worked. We were within walking distance to the marketplace and casino, many restaurants and a small beach. All of the pools were open. The free water taxi to Taino beach wasn't running one day so they had a taxi pick us up and bring us at no charge. Taino beach was nice...definitely would go there than to bother with the one down the street by the police station. The food at Sabor's and Dive in we're good. The jalapeƱo shrimp at Sabor's were great. The lobster BLT at the dive in grill was great. Flying Fish was pricey but worth a nice meal out. Enjoyed the mahi mahi and steak. Entertainment in the square on Fri and Sat nights. We had a great time and hope to go back. We would go to Pelican Bay again but be sure to upgrade your room. It's worth it. The bed was comfortable too.

Nice Place to Stay in Freeport

Posted Mar 13, 2014
Pros: The grounds were beautiful and well kept. The room was clean and mostly quiet, except for the noisy refrigerator.
Cons: The wait staff at the complimentary breakfast could be more attentive but the food was good and again it was "free".
Location: There is access to a beach and casino across the street. We were walking distance to the marketplace where there were lots of shops and restaurants.
The room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. The waterside view was more of the pool than of the ocean but the view from the balcony was beautiful. The location was extremely convenient for walking to the marketplace, restaurants, and access to activities/tours/watersports. Overall it was a very enjoyable visit!
