Was it luxurious no, but it was nice clean and comfy. Every room has a view and the hotel was in a great location. I personally would stay again.

Great location, very good hotel experience

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: The location and pleasantness of the staff made this a place I would definitely visit again.
Cons: Our room was very basic, but comfortable and quiet surroundings. The rooms could be updated a little.
Location: Much to do in the area - shopping, pool swimming, the straw market, lots of restaurants, and the ferry boat access is right in hotel's backyard.
We stayed for 4 days and were able to balance rest and relaxation plus lots of activity in this stay. Hotel is perfectly located with walking access to the Port Lucaya market and the complimentary ferry to Taino Beach which has a lovely beach and pools. Staff were all pleasant and any questions we had were dealt with promptly. A good selection of restaurants were in walking distance from Pizza Hut to restaurants with Bahamian and Greek cuisine. The place really came alive on Saturday night with free live entertainment in the nearby Count Basie square and a good mix of visitors and residents converged on the square for good clean entertainment. Some stores stayed open late.

Friendly staff, clean rooms

Our hotel stay at Pelican Bay was good. The rooms were clean and our room was by one of the 3 pools and overlooked the marina so sitting out on our balcony was nice to have a great view. No WiFi unless you pay additional for access, which I did not like. Breakfast plan, they serve the same thing every day, so it gets old after a couple of days eating the same thing. I do recommend trying the restaurant by the marina called Sabor, it was very good. This hotel is not directly on the beach, but they do have a ferry you ride over that comes every hour, no charge for guests of Pelican Bay. Overall, good hotel experience.

Really great suite & next door to dive shop.

Location: The hotel is very close to restaurants & shopping & evening entertainment at the Port Lucaya Marketplace Square.
We had a wonderful stay at Pelican Bay that exceeded out expectations...great location, great staff...very good restaurant and next door to the dive shop. The suite was quite large with a large sitting area, kitchenette, nice balcony and separate bedroom and 2 sink bath. It's quiet with a lovely pool and free transportation to a nice beach area.

A bit run down but great location

Posted May 23, 2014 on Hotels.com
I have stayed here twice before in the same type of room with living room, bedroom and kitchenette. Found it great on those occasions. This time I took my son for just one night as we had to attend a concert. I had requested a roll-out bed on Hotels.com but when we got here there was much discussion and eventually we ended up in rm249 with a rollaway bed, which they brought. This was fine. However the room obviously had not been used for a while as there was dead vines all over over the balcony, which had been clipped from below but not cleared away. The fan in the living room did not work at all, and the hot water tank, (located in a closet with the AC), was not functioning as it should, because the water was barely lukewarm out of the tap. I must say though that the front desk were very considerate when I mentioned all of this when we checked out and did not charge for the late checkout that we had asked for! This hotel would be great for families as there is a pool, resturant and access to tours which they can book. There is also the Lucaya marketplace just steps away, with restaurants, shops and entertainment on Saturday evenings. Good value and a whole lot quieter thatn the Grand Lucaya across the road :)

Mother/Daughter trip

Pros: Staff
The staff were excellent. They were very helpful and offered assistance when asked. There were many restaurants close by, and things to do. The Taino beach ferry was an added plus for sure.

Lovely hotel, highly recommended

Pros: Close/walking distance to shops, restaurants and the casino Quiet hotel, very peaceful
Cons: They need to include free internet but use the pool near the flying fish restaurant or walk over to the Radisson to bounce off theirs to check email.
Location: Great location, close to everything
Woman tavelling on my own - Stayed for a long weekend. Found hotel to be very close to everything. Would recommend including the breakfast in a booking - good selection and choices Pools/hot tub always quiet so a very relaxing place and free transfer via boat to a local beach was great Room was clean and tidy, toiletries/coffee etc refilled every day Highly recommend eating at Sabo, hotel restaurant, goon choice of food, peppered steak and seafood pasta was fantastic and the barman, Vandyke was very friendly
