Love this place
This is our 2nd vacation here and we have to say we love it , its quiet and with 2 pools 2 outdoors and 1 indoor (heated) there is never a problem getting a sun lounger and the pool is usually quiet too. This visit we decided to book breakfast only and eat out for evening meals, the breakfasts menu offers a large choice and the restaurant/bar attached but just outside the complex offered a comprehensive menu. The Suite was clean and spacious with secluded and private gardens, great for sun bathing. If we have one very small negative its that the suites are showing some signs of age, but we love the whole concept of these suites and we will be back again

The suite was very comfortable and spacious. The whole complex was very well kept and had a lovely air of calm about it We did have a concern about the gym, as there were no guides for the equipment and no evidence of the equipment being checked for safety

Spent a very pleasant 3 days here. Each junior suite has its own totally private courtyard, and a seating area at the side of accommodation that is also relatively private. The room was exceptionally clean and a little quirky. Some elements showing a little sign of being dated / wear and tear (some of mosaic tiles in the bathroom were cracked, for example), but this certainly didn’t detract from our overall enjoyment. All staff were polite and friendly (especially at check in), and the breakfasts were great. Thank you!

The hotel complex is ambitious with beautiful landscaped gardens and well-designed and spacious accommodation. The upkeep (tired gym) and restaurant leave room for improvement.

Costa Calma bolt hole
The hotel is an absolute haven! 45mins from the airport and 1min stroll from sone fantastic beaches. The rooms are more like little studios - fantastic private lounging space ( indoors & outdoors) with amazing bathrooms. I had a junior suite. Private grounds with loads of relaxation areas. Food and service more than happy with and fully attentive staff. 2x nearby Spars. Beaches to the right of the hotel are beautiful - families, nudists - no one invaded anyone’s space. Def go again...👍

Very nice place to stay
Nice hotel with a nice outlook. Nice swimming pools. Near some shops and the beach. Both within walking distance. The quality of the produce at breakfast could be better. Rooms are quirky. Loved the jacuzzi bath tub.

Spacious suites with own private patio and inner courtyard- great for couples but not brilliant for young families. Small hotel (50) suites having an Eco friendly policy. You need a car if you don’t want to sunbathe or sit around the pool all day. There are some bra beaches in the very close locality. Staff very friendly - a real team.

Our holiday at Hotel Risco del Gato
We enjoyed the holiday, the bar team if Bridget & Tomas were excellent. The place is very pretty but too remote with nothing much going on during the days. We missed not having an easy to access bar for drinks and snacks during the day. Friendly staff, very clean, good housekeeping, unusual layout of rooms and lovely private courtyard

Charming hotel, quiet and fantastic design, lots of room for a family of 5 in a senior suite. Food on half board healthy and lots of fish, which pleased us. Main pool could be a bit bigger but always quiet and plenty of chairs available. We had a hire car which was great and we could find much better beaches along the coast.

The Hotel Risco del Gato is a very quite small hotel which consists of a number of detached suites situated in gardens around a central building. The resort has a very nice beach with a couple of beach bars. But there are no independent cafes, bars or restaurants or local life. It is really a collection of very big hotels, you need to be at least half board. Book your airport transfers before you go, as it takes an 1 1/2 hours on the airport coach.

Loved staying here, quiet area with beautiful beach 2 min walk and so many patches of beach to meander between and choose. The hotel itself is imaginatively designed, rows of pod style apartments surrounded by winding lanes and pools and maintained cactus plants. Food is ok, standard buffets with occasional theme. Their 2nd terrace restaurant is top notch though. Bar could stay open later, closed 11pm. No party animal but for latin folk thats super early!!

We loved the quirkiness of the accommodation - the most spacious we have ever had. Private patios with sun beds and outside shower, another patio with table and chairs, huge bedroom, bathroom with jacuzzi and a lounge with to and fridge etc. Very effective a/c Great restaurant on site and other eateries within 1 or 2 km. Beach a short walk away. Loved it all!

This hotel has a unique design, with each room being a detached suite with separate lounge/ bedroom and private terrace. We found this to be a really nice idea. The rooms are very peaceful, and very private making the hotel a very relaxing environment to be in. Cleanliness was good, and staff very friendly. This hotel seemed to be the best in Costa calma - the other nearby 'all inclusives' looked a lot less charming and quiet.

Highly recommended. Calm, relaxing - near beach.
We stayed in a Senior suite which is exactly as described on the web site. The hotel is truly lovely with fabulous staff. The beach is only a 3 minute walk plus many restaurants and bars all within 5- 15 minutes. However you have the best restaurant in Costa Calma on your doorstep... The Terraza Del Gato, do not miss it!

Lived up to expectations
When we first booked our stay at the Risco del Gato we immediately trawled through the countless reviews of the resort, trying to find one which had any real criticism. We couldnt find a single one, so we had a pretty good idea that we had chosen well. It certainly lived up to expectations. The resort was all we'd hoped it would be. The apartments were clean, spacious , and the secluded courtyards were wonderful for catching the last hour or so of sunshine each day. The resort itself has a wonderful aura of calm about it. There was no mad scramble for sunbeds, no bunfight in the restaurant (the food was first class), and all of the staff were wonderfully helpful and polite. If there was anything at all I could change, it would be slightly softer mattresses on the beds (but that's just a personal preference) and maybe a slightly bigger fridge in the apartments, but these really are just minor details. We are already planning another visit here next year. Having visited Fuerteventura several times in the past, no other resort we've visited holds a candle to Risco del Gato.

Unique hotel close to beach
Just returned from a weeks stay at the Hotel Risco Del Gato. We were very impressed with the hotel, particularly the accommodation in the unique pods. These were very spacious, clean and comfortable and the food in the hotel was very good quality and varied. The only real downside to the stay was that the resort is very quiet indeed.

Fantastic Hotel
This hotel was a wonderful place for couples. We went in September and there were hardly any children and the vibe at the hotel was very peaceful and serene. The staff were extremley attentive and the food in the hotel was really delicious. I booked what I thought was room-only, however, when we arrived the staff told us that breakfast would be included in the package. A Bonus! The description states there is free wifi in the rooms - this was not the case, wifi was only free/available in reception building and wifi in rooms and mifi could be paid for. This was not a big deal for us. You do not need a car to get to resturants etc, I would recommend going for a few walks and finding the centres for good places to eat.

Quiet, relaxing, private, just what was needed.
We wanted a restful quiet holiday, and that's what we got, the pods gave privacy, the staff were polite and friendly but not intrusive, the rooms were very clean, and everywhere else was also clean and tidy. The only downside for us was, that we personally found the beds too hard, which was a shame because it did make for uncomfortable nights, and unless we can find a way around that it could put us off coming again, which would be sad because everything else was just as we wanted it to be.

Quirky Haven
We went away for a restful 7 day break and certainly got it. The hotel is really special and unlike any other we have stayed in before. The design concept is brilliant and the pods were completely private. The gardens are beautifully manicured. The staff are incredibly pleasant and couldn't do enough for you. We stayed on a B&B basis and have to say, the buffet was excellent. Miles of fantastic beach are literally across the road. A fabulous choice.

I would definitely recommend this hotel. Lovely breakfasts. Dinner not really to my taste and the terrazza restaurant is very open to the elements so not very cosy, especially in cold windy weather as we had last week. Most of the staff are lovely but one or two, not very welcoming. I am talking about the staff more in the terrazza restaurant not elsewhere in the hotel.

Rather average but ok if you want a quiet hotel
This hotel is described as a 4 star, its not. The suites are large and there was a Jacuzzi in the bathroom, which was good. The furniture needs up dating the shower needs to be retiled. The gym is terrible hardly any of the cardio machines worked and there was a multi weights machine. The spa with its jet shower, isn't great either. No towels provided no where to change, the jet shower was rubbish with shower heads missing. The sauna was small and you must request that its is put on at reception. The Pod itself is private and the gardens and landscaping is nice. The food in the restaurant is average and the fish isnt good at all, which is a shame, its always a fillet and doesn't seem fresh, you can only use one restaurant if your half board. OK as i wanted R&R, but they advertise things they dont provide, eg bikes

Nice Hotel, could do with an update now
Just spent 10 days here, the hotel in nice relaxing place, the "pods" are great space and very private. They are looking a little tired and could do with a face lift, but this doesn't spoil the stay. If they were more modern they would prob be twice the price. The pool area is nice, but pool could be heated, it too cold for this time of year. The breakfast is faultless, lots of choice and all to a good standard. Coffee is terrible! I think the hotel could benefit from offering some room service in the evening...as each pod had lovely private terrace and would be nice to dine at it the odd night (room service is only daytime) and I think some bar service around the pool and snacks would also be good...this is supposed to be 4 star. I think expecting men to wear long trousers for dinner in the hotel restaurant is a stretch, this is a casual holiday resort...not "The Dorchester!" The beach is short walk and is lovely with a couple of nice beach bars for the daytime. The spa is "ok" at best. We used it once. If you want to use the sauna, steam room, Turkish bath and Jacuzzi (outside next to pool) you need to ask reception and they will switch them on for you. The Jacuzzi around the pool is nice and warm water when the pool is freezing! The sauna and steam room are average, a little old and tiny. The Turkish bath needs a clean! but again, if you don't want to come face to face (in a small area) with naked Germans, then avoid

Loved everything about the hotel and staff. Design of hotel and gardens are beautiful. Food was excellent and it's things like the bath robe and slippers, the living area with wonderful view of gardens and sea that make all the difference. One of the best holidays I've ever had and would certainly go back there.

This is an excellent hotel. It's very quiet with each suite being very secluded, with its own private courtyard. I think the rooms will need re-decorating within the next year or two, but they were extremely clean, probably the cleanest bathroom I've experienced anywhere in the world. All of the staff were very welcoming and friendly and I managed to get by on my extremely basic Spanish. I didn't have a single negative experience while I was here, would highly recommend it and will definitely return. I had the breakfast only package which gave me a choice of evening meal from the main restaurant (very nice) or the less formal Mediterranean restaurant which was excellent. I was travelling alone and it provided just the right relaxation that I was after. The hotel has a lovely pool providing shelter from the breeze and is also a short walk from the beach so everything you could want for a quiet break is here. I did hire a car and would recommend this as there is some wonderful scenery on the island, best explored by car - unless you're one of the fit-looking cyclists taking advatange of the quiet roads!

Eine sehr gepflegte Gartenanlage. Sehr geräumige Zimmer, allerdings schon etwas in die Zeit gekommen. Trotzdem sehr sauber und wir haben uns wohlgefühlt. Frühstück war sehr gut, das Abendessen muss nicht unbedingt sein.

Struttura un po’ datata ma mantenuta molto bene; punto di forza sono le poche stanze (50), molto spaziose con un’area privata esterna con privacy assoluta; ottima la colazione; buona la cena anche se non ottima ma certamente in linea con le Canarie dove si mangia piuttosto male dappertutto; cibo di certo non peggiore di altre mega strutture più blasonate. Bellissimo giardino stile zen. Certamente raccomandato
