We’ve used Vrbo many times in the last decade and never had a problem with a reservation until this one. Upon arrival, we entered the property to find no linens and an unmade bed. When the property manager returned my call, he offered to put us in the lower unit of the premises, but said he needed to check his bookings to see if we’d need to move again. And we did. Both units occupy a refurbished home that is at least 100 years old, so there is only so much lipstick you can put on a pig. The floors are uneven, the window blinds are a wreck, there are electrical outlets that don’t work, and there was no sink stopper for the bathroom sink. The bedroom is so small that you have to shuffle around the end of the bed to get from one side to the other. For all these deficiencies, however, the location of this property is its biggest issue. We lived in Grand Haven for thirty years before retiring, and Jackson Avenue is not a street you want to be located on during the summer months. Traffic will be unreal, with noise levels appropriate for the road every beach visitor from out of town will be using to get to the lake. If you’re looking for a relaxing vacation in a comfortable venue, this ain’t it.
