During our stay we noticed a lot of things that did not meet the standards of a 5* hotel in any way. For example, rips in curtain in bedroom, no iron in the room, broken toilet seat, no kettle, dirty hottub, only one jet working in hottub, cracks and marks on the bedroom walls, dirty tablecloth at lunch on day of arrival, 2 broken lamps in the room. We were not told you needed to book the hottub amongst other things, which we had to find out for ourselves or from other guests staying at the hotel, as we were quickly dismissed when speaking to someone at reception. No efforts were made whatsoever at any point during our stay. The photos of this hotel on Expedia where I booked is nowhere near what we saw when we arrived. The beds are extremely uncomfortable, furniture is dirty throughout the hotel, WiFi is only available in the lobby which was very inconvenient as we needed to make important work related emails. The hotel is nowhere near the airport and does not offer complimentary shuttle services, we had to pay €48 for a taxi to and from the hotel. Would highly NOT recommend!

We were very happy with the location and the hotel in general. The breakfast was amazing!! The only bad thing is that there's no WiFi in the rooms, just at the reception.

Excellent 5* customer service. All staff members were super nice and helpful. The cleanness however was not to 5* standards. Our room was dirty and everything was very used and broken.

The hotel looks nice in pictures but the room furniture is antiquated. The bed is not comfortable. Rooms need to be updated. WiFi is only available in the lobby which was very inconvenient. The hotel is not near the airport and does not offer complimentary shuttle service. We had to pay €48 for a taxi ride to the hotel. You’ll need to pay another €48 for the taxi ride back as well. My experience overall was disappointing. On the bright side, the staff was very friendly and their breakfast is tasty.

Property is nice and elegant place to stay and staff friendly :) one think only if you need wi-fi connection be very carful on choosing this place as there in no wi-Fi signal there connection keeps dropping and you won’t be able to sent emails properly. Definitely not business people oriantated place.

Staff were great but the room was very hot when we arrived and the air conditioning was ineffective and kept cutting out. The safe was not working although we were told if we called reception they would come and fix it. Bathroom amenities were not restocked, there was no shampoo. The hotel guest noise policy needs reviewing. There loud music coming from a room close to ours making a quiet sit on the balcony after a long journey impossible. The hotel had to ask the occupants to turn their noise down. It’s a real shame because we stayed here some years ago without issue. We immediately left and found a real 5 star hotel !

Beautiful view from the property. Staff are polite, friendly and super helpful. We enjoyed the amazing buffet for breakfast and dinner every day. The hotel also hosted some events like Greek night and live music. We had a gorgeous sea side view of the hotel which overlooked beautiful blue water. The property was very clean, just looked a little old to me or maybe it was just traditional. Overall loved every bit of it.

Honest review
Hotel is beautiful although it needs some updating. For example, the lining of the pool is coming away, chair brocken, bathrooms tired etc). The biggest issue with this hotel is the evening entertainment. It is infrequent and boring (Greek night was good). The bar area is more like an old people’s home than a holiday hotel in the evening. The food is gorgeous but the all inclusive drink choice is very poor. All in all it is a gorgeous (it is a stunning building but needs updating), views are beautiful, hotel in a very quiet location with lovely staff staff but they need to up their game as their all inclusive and entertainment in not as good as most other hotels. Finally, I do not think the hotel is 5 star in its current state.

On staying here you really do need a car to see the island...visit restaurants as quite romote. Comfort and staff in hotel were excellent.

Relaxing Getaway
We visited here in Sept 2018 and It was lovely. Would give it 4.5/5 overall. Staff were top notch, room clean and excursions and trips available if you want to explore a bit. Hotel isolated and not many kids or teenagers at all. Great for couples. Recommend hiring a quad and visiting shipwreck beach and Alikes. The staff here were exceptional. No one was rude and a few stood out.

Luxury and peaceful retreat. Excellent experience
My two daughters and I stayed for a long weekend at this lovely hotel, a last mother and daughter trip before our eldest daughter has her baby. What a fantastic hotel; fantastic and happy hotel team, well led and managed, lovely food and a lovely quiet location. We were checked in efficiently by a friendly and happy team member, and were taken to our apartment in the golf buggy, to save undue exertion for our expectant mum. Rooms are very well furnished. We were allocated room 818 which had it's own pool with uninterrupted views over foliage and the sea in the distance. Nothing was too much trouble and one of the team members even pumped up our lilos for the pool and brought them down to our apartment in a golf buggy! The two pools set within the hotel grounds were attractive and had nice sun-loungers. The outdoor terraces had an array of attractive and comfortable seating with lovely views - as you can see from the photos. We booked on the all inclusive option and the range of drinks was very good; both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Very nice hotel and I will return next year with my husband for a quiet and relaxing and pampered break. We arrived at the hotel in a rental car and travelled round the island after checking out on our last day, before heading back to the airport for our evening flight. Stopped off at some charming and quiet areas - but stayed away from the noisy resorts ;0 wifi only available in lobby so you'll need to use your 3G/4G data

Relaxing and not too busy, sea view is wonderful. Although slightly worn there is a jaded elegance to the property. Staff are helpful. Breakfast limited and could be improved. As could buffet dinner. Cost of drinks high if not on all inclusive (which would potentially be repetitive if eating onsite every meal) Some great tavernas close by with good prices and food. Need a car to stay here - taxi to/from town/airport expensive. Best beaches on other side of island. Would recommend this location for relaxing time - away from internet (if you can manage - it’s good for you to take a break from it!)

Do not choose this hotel! The view is all you get and is not worth all the negatives! I will name a few of the many problems, so I can potentially save others from making the same mistake: #1. Very poor (or a total lack of) noise isolation. This is a huuuugggeee problem, mainly because of all you can hear throughout the night. In 5 out of 7 nights, we were awaken by couples having sex and all the accompanying sounds that came with it -- bed banging, squeaking, screaming, "that was so good"-ing, etc. We were even hearing the talk afterwards. On the positive side, one can really learn and educate him/herself ;) #2. Wear and tear -- there is obvious wear and tear all over the place. Torn and stained chairs in restaurant, rusty showers, torn lamps, etc. #3. No WiFi -- believe it or not, there is no WiFi in the rooms! (Sth that further stimulates #1, as people do not have much else to do other than mating...) You can only get internet if you are no further than a few meters from the lobby. #4. Terrible location (not a fault of the hotel!) -- closest beach is in 15 minutes with a car. The good beaches (Gerakas, Porto Azzuro, etc. are one hour drive from the hotel) #5. Ants in the rooms -- the first room that we were given had very serious ants problem. We killer note that 10-12 ants, some of which were all over our 7-month daughter. #6. Uncomfortable beds Positives: #1. The personnel -- generally nice people who are trying to compensate for the terrible facilities

The Grand Mabley really is Grand!
The Grand Mabley really is GRAND! From the moment you pull into the gates, you will be welcomed with genuine luxury. We were upgraded and found ourselves in a room with a semi-private pool. The hotel has an elegant living room where many of the guests gathered every evening. There is also an outdoor veranda with cushiony seating where you can enjoy the magnificent sunset. Try the Mabley cocktail while you sit and relax! The breakfast is included and is better than most European/English style breakfasts. You may be tempted to just hang out in one of their many pools since the pool furniture is so luxurious. But you definitely need to see the Island is Zakynthos, so see their activities coordinator to help you on your way.

Terrible! Furniture was damaged and old. We were put in an annex not the main hotel. We were in staff quarters. No internet in rooms and very spotty in lobby. Had to drive to lobby to try to use it. The room in the annex was underground, had to go down many steps to get there. The only pluses were the sunsets and the food.

Hotel staff were excellent. The hotel itself was clean and spacious. The food was great, not your typical buffet food, plenty of choice, all fresh and lots of Greek options. We're vegetarian and there were plenty of options for us, although very cheese heavy! Room was nice, clean and specious, but the bed was quite hard (this is the only fault!). The pool was great but very very cold. When we were by the pool it would have been nice if staff were more attentive, but when the other pool is open later in the season I'm sure it'll be fine. We'd definitely stay here again.

We just come back from Mabely and already missing this hotel. Overall 5* It's clean, quiet, perfect for relax, away from busy laganas. We get free upgrade to sea view, this was nice surprise.

Sorry, this stay was not a Grand one for me! First impressions, amazing. Cannot fault the hard working staff who go out of their way (mostly) to help. The scenery is amazing, what a fantastic view, relaxing environment. Had to change room as the first one smelt of stale cigarette smoke, (booked a junior suite) and was upgraded to a junior suite with private pool, the pool is the only reason I kept this room as it was in disrepair, damp and the bathroom was disgraceful certainly not 5 star, in fact I would not give it a star rating at all! Hotel must be aware there is damp in this room as there was dehumidifier (that wasn't working as the container was full of water) The bed was very hard and I had to request a mattress topper and pillow case covers (surely this is standard in any 5 star hotel). Who would sleep in a bed with just a sheet between you and a mattress? Everyone works so hard there, Maria at the pool bar is a credit to the hotel. We had lunch from the BBQ for a change, delicious and very good value. Food was good, went for the AI option due to location and lack of places to eat close by (unless you have a car which we didn't).We stayed 3 nights, which was long enough on this basis. No WIFI in the bedrooms, and a hot spot that I never successfully connected to in the lobby which was challenging when trying to confirm return transfers. I will not be back and sorry, cannot recommend this hotel, maybe I was unlucky with the accommodation (room 810)!

Stayed in family suite. The room was big and spacious but the shower water was Brown and you have to leave it running for a few mins until clear. The room itself and bathroom also has minimal lighting so it feels like you're taking a shower in the dark. The rooms also do not have wifi which in 2017 is poor. Breakfast was okay but you pay extra for drinks that are not tea or coffee. Staff though were friendly.

Peaceful and elegant hotel
We had a lovely stay. Very attentive and helpful staff. Both pools ideally placed and never crowded. Hotel was very clean, comfortable and had a faded, but elegant and luxurious feel. Was worth hiring a car to be able to explore, but minibus service offered was also very good for 'set' trips. We would most definitely stay here again.

Beautiful hotel on stunning coastline
The Mabely Grand is in a stunning setting and the staff and facilities were incredible. We opted to go for a premium room with a shared private pool. On arrival we discovered we had been awarded a night in the truly stunning Presidential Suite and we were then put into an Executive Suite with its very own pool. The staff, the food, the bar, the all inclusive deal are all fantastic. We enjoyed two trips out using the free hotel shuttle bus to nearby Alykes and to the boat trip from Porto Vromi. The hotel arranged a taxi to meet us straight from the airport and also for the trip back. Liza and the Reception staff were fantastic, the bellboys incredibly helpful and the more we chatted to the the staff the friendlier they were (yet without being over familiar). The Greek Night was lovely, the Full Moon party great and the Greek music and music trio in the restaurant and main lobby were great. As we drove up the hill away from the hotel to head home it was big smiles and the odd tear. A wonderful holiday and belated honeymoon.

Our first night we pretty much had to sleep in the nude with no covers on the bed, never in my life have I had to sleep that way. We called our first night and all they told us was give it time - they never tried to accommodate us in any way. We had to buy a fan just to be able to get a decent amount of sleep at night - which was still not satisfactory. I didn't appreciate how the maintenance staff questioned my intelligence on the ac system. Yes I know it's blowing cool air but it is not working properly and I was being told over and over oh it's working good just give it a few hours to cool down -it never did. We would walk by other rooms and it felt way cooler even by the air flow coming from under the door. The drain in the bathroom flooded the first night and continued to do so. The toliet is super loud when you flush it and there was a tick on one of the bathroom towels. The hotel does not have wash cloths. This hotel needs a lot of improvement and was one of the worst hotels we have stayed at.

A wonderful Hotel
The Mabely is a wonderful hotel with great staff. Our holiday was taken with our 3 children, who are 19,17 and 14. On day one we were concerned that they would be bored as there isn't a lot of entertainment however, they absolutely loved the place and enjoyed very minute. The food was a well presented buffet, the only downside was the pool bar food wasn't included in the 'all inclusive' package but that was a minor issue as lunch was provided in the main hotel. We had one complaint which was the air conditioning in our room didn't work. I needed to complain 5 times over 4 days until the hotel moved us to a new room. This was not a one off having spoken to other guests they had had a similar experience where they had mentioned the A/C not working to be told that the engineer had look at it and it was fine! Check the A/C on arrival and complain immediately if it does work and persevere. The drinks are well presented and the hotel exudes class enjoy.
