This gem of a hotel is set right in the heart of Chania Old Town, right in the middle of the shops. Even though one side is located on a street with shops and the other overlooking a square it was surprisingly quiet. The beds are so comfortable and the rooms well appointed. This was the former home of the lovely lady on reception who was so helpful. We would definitely stay here again.
What a magnificent time we had here! The room was clean the staff was incredibly friendly (shout out to Marianna) and helpful! The room had real charm…and just a great vibe! The hotel has stairs only which could be challenging for some…if you are driving there is NO parking…and it’s very difficult finding parking period….would definitely stay here again!

Dear John, thank you for your warm words and your honest review.Hope to see you again! The Vilelmine Hotel Staff
Quaint and pretty hotel in a beautiful area. We only stayed one night and had to leave early so didn’t have breakfast but there was a fridge in the room and a coffee maker (excellent coffee). Thank you for a nice stay
What a great place - location was amazing!! We stayed a couple of days as we were waiting for our Airbnb to become available. The staff was amazing and made our stay awesome.
Everything was great!
The only problem was that there was noise from the other rooms even very late at night due to the wooden floors of the building

A very central location. The balcony had an amazing view of the square, great for people watching. The apartment was larger than we expected. The bed was comfy.

Happy holidays and a healthy 2022!
Room was very spacious with balcony overlooking square with church. Bed quite comfortable. Easy walk to Venetian Harbor and to bus station for other cities/port. Mostly quiet although you can defined hear the morning church bells.

Fabulous stay
Vilelmine is a easy walk to every where in Old Town, bus station and meeting point for tours. Lovely cafe downstairs on square where we enjoyed breakfast every morning and a fabulous draft of Cretan Beer later in day. Church bells toll at 7:37AM but for me this was like the first alarm ring. Is a family run hotel and everyone is so wonderful. We got many fabulous suggestions and directions. There during extreme heat wave so convenient to come back during the day. Building was a home built in 1900 and has a lot of character.
If you want to be in the very centre of Chanias 'happening pedestrianized harbour area' then this is the hotel for you.. Its small, personal and very friendly. one side faces a historic cathedral square, the other a small pedestrian shopping street. Staff are welcoming and the room was spacious and simply decorated in classic heritage style... with a small wrought iron, louver shuttered, marble floored balcony from where you can sit in full sun morning and evening and watch the comings and goings on the street below. the room had beautiful original flooring and furniture with original high ceilings and exposed stonework. the bed was very comfortable and the room air conditioned. A large fridge is also supplied with welcoming complimentary cold water and soda. The bathroom had a good power shower and nice olive based amenities. The hotel has little other facilities except for a ground floor restaurant/coffee shop opening into the square. The hotel is great value for money, 5 mins walk from the central bus station and magnificent harbour and main tourist attractions. The city art gallery (free entry) is 2 minutes walk away as a a pletora of ice cream shops and restaurants... But its central location that gives it preference over other hotels... alllowing you to explore the old town at ease or just sit on your balcony with a cold drink and watch the world go by.. in glorious Cretan sunshine!
Location, location, location! Amazing little hotel, outstanding service, very clean, gorgeous rooms! I was pleasantly surprised! Not even 10 minutes walk from bus station, y are in the middle of Chania, next to best restaurants, cafes, market very close by! Stayed a week, felt like home!

Happy to read your review!
Our best regards :D
Lovely staff and great location. In the heart of old town. Easy 2 minute walk to harbour and 5 mins to bus station. Staff go that extra mile to ensure your stay is good. As other reviewers have said the stairs are hard work when you have been out walking all day. Had room with balcony overlooking the square great views and great for people watching. Would stay there again

Nice hotel central to all shops restaurants and ha
The staff were very pleasant and made us very welcome.
The room was very nice and clean and the maid came in every day to bring fresh towels and clean the room.
All in all very nice stay here and recommend the place to anyone
Stayed for 1 week.
Hotel very central position on a main square, very comfortable room with some generous little extras, like kettle and coffee maker, and fridge with bottled water renewed daily. Toiliteries and towels renewed daily.
Air conditioning was very effective and welcoming.
We had breakfast on our first morning, which was plentifull and good value at €6.
Lots of choice of restaurants nearby, and on the waterfront.
We went to a beach nearby by bus no 21, took about 10 mins, it was clean and had good facilities, don’t know the name think Sunny Beach.
We stayed for three nights in June 2018. Vilelmine is in a wonderful location, our room was spacious with a cute balcony, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. I wish we could have stayed longer and we would definitely go back!
Delightful position close to the cathedral and main square. Hotel full of character, helpful and charming staff. Very steep stairs which didn't trouble us, but worth considering for folks with mobility difficulties,
This is a lovely hotel very close to the harbour. We had a courtyard view overlooking the Orthodox Cathedral and square which was ideal, clean and roomy. It was also 10mins walk from the bus station so we opted to get the bus to the airport. Runs every half hour very easy and very quick. We will definitely be back 😀
Room, staff and location are all excellent. View from balcony was great. Only gotcha is the rather steep stairs which might be an issue if you have trouble carrying your bags up a couple of flights.
We like it very much. The view from the balcony was great!
The only thing that I would have like it better is that you have to use the stairs, there is not an elevator.
The hostess were very graceful and kind.

What a great place! Such a beautiful old building, decorated tastefully, so much room and in the middle of everything. We can not fault this hotel. Just perfect.
Fabulous hotel, very close to the city centre and the KTEL intercity bus/coach station. Staff are lovely; Adonis and Maria are great hosts. We originally planned to stay for 2 nights, but we ended up staying for 5.
Rooms were charming and nicely decorated. Location was great as right in the middle of the old town. Average comfort and cleanliness level. Good for short stays if you are not planning on spending too much time in your room but prefer to roam the old town.
Small, quirky, atmospheric old building very close to the Harbour in Chania Old Town. Better described as a cafe with rooms. Breakfast is available from the cafe but was not included in our room rate of £86 per night. Our room was on the first floor so the spiral stairway was not a problem but would be an issue if you had mobility problems, especially if you were on the third floor as there isn't a left. The room itself was very clean but the decor was tired and would benefit from updating. Coffee machine provided but no hairdryer! All in all a decent little place that could be excellent with a little more thought & investment. Very noisy at night!

Beautiful gem!! The hotel is perfectly located, very close to Chania harbour, shops and tavernas.
It was VERY clean and very well maintained, the staff goes above and beyond to accommodate and make you feel at home!
We will definitely stay here again!!
An amazing stay with a beautiful view and very spacious double room. Recommending to everyone. The balcony for breakfast every morning is brilliant. Room is cleaned daily and everyone is ever so friendly. Cleaning lady is a gem. Anything you need the hotel will be ready to help. WiFi is fast. There is an option for breakfast however we decided to buy out to try what we would fancy and eat in the balcony. You have TV, fridge, coffee machine, complimentary water and juices. Air-conditioning in the room. The hotel does not have a lift so you need to do stairs which for us was fine. The hotel is very well positioned in centre of Chania with easy access to tours pick up (3 mins away) bus station (5 mins), supermarkets around you (5 mins) Chania port (5 mins) plenty of very good reataurants especially towards the lighthouse front and others within the cobble streets are brilliant. Local beach is 15 mins away (all time mentioned walking distance). A short bus ride away takes you to beautiful golden beach (chrissi akti) amazing sand and clear waters. We bought tickets outside of the bus and its €1.20, inside is more expensive. You can get a taxi from and to airport about 25€ however a bus ride about 20 to 30 mins is around 3€ and does same job. The hotel does not have pool nor game rooms so if your looking to spend leisure time in hotel would not be for you. Fabulous hotel to see Chania and have a relaxing holiday. Worth every penny! Thank you.
The staff at this hotel were amazing. They answered all of our many questions regarding activities in and around Chania, including in relation to the Samaria Gorge. The hotel is in a great location for shopping and spending time in Chania. It is also only a short walk to the bus station.
What a nice place! Our room was on the first floor, with a small balcony overlooking the shops. Period fittings with a modern bathroom. Complementary drinks and coffee capsules, replenished daily. There was a separate sitting room. Just a few minutes walk from the harbour. Definitely first choice for my next visit.
