We had a very comfortable stay at Baleia, from location to breakfast it all contributed to an overall excellent choice. The only downside for us traveling with expensive equipment was that the door lock to the room was very flimsy, but we had no issues.

Very good location - a short walk from the town where there are multiple restaurants. Very helpful owners who gave good tips and a useful map. Very nice room set around an attractive courtyard with small pool (which we didn't use). Great breakfast.

A home away from home at Baleia
Very very pleasant owners. We felt like a home and the mother Daughter Treated us like a family. I would defiantly recoment this homely feeling guest house.

Our stay was for 2 nights. Our room was across the pool patio, through the reception and breakfast rooms. The room was very spacious, as was the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. It was all lovely and clean. The hosts were very friendly and full of information - Chris and Jonka and the team. Location couldn't have been better. On site parking was secure and we were able to walk to the nearby restaurants and bars in the Hermanus town centre. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful - cooked to order and homemade preserves and honey too which was available to purchase at a low cost. mmmmmmm Pool towels were supplied and there was a fully stocked onsite bar with an honesty box. Will definitely stay longer next time.

Definitely not a 4*
Very disappointed. More of a basic BnB. The place needs updating and modernisation. The mismatch curtains let the sunlight in before 6am, rooms need air conditioning as ceiling fan is not sufficient for temperatures in mid to high 20s. There was no mention on Hotels.com website that WiFi is available for limited hours nor that there are cats roaming around freely (saw one comfortably sleeping between clean pile of towels for pool use). Other guests might not have a problem with this but due to allergies it was not pleasant for us. Too pricey for what it is Secure parking and good breakfast

Quaint guesthouse in Hermanus
Wonderful service from the owners, nice breakfast and quaint guest house. Good lication within walking distance to see the whales and restaurants. Only thing that could be improved is the taps in the shower were tricky to control water temp. Otherwise this place is reasonable and a delightful place to stay!

Lovely B&B, close proximity to shops and beach
We had a lovely 1 night stop over at Baleia. The staff are exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The room is well laid out and very spacious. The bathroom is excellent and includes a bath and shower. The breakfast was also lovely and overall we thought it was good value. My only negative comment would be that the bed was very hard but other than that we had a lovely stay and would recommend it to others.

Great value and very friendly staff. Even though we were only staying one night, the owner recommended and booked dinner for us in a great local restaurant. Hotel is conveniently located for town centre - just 5 minutes walk, yet in a quiet location.

Lovely place to stay for the night. Easy to find. Then short walk to top of low cliffs with great views out to sea. Whales had vacated area before we arrived in early December. Very pleasant town and shops including small market square. Good breakfast next morning and we were gone but with a pleasant memory.

Quiet and Relaxing stay.
We enjoyed our night at Baleia Guest Lodge Bed & Breakfast which was quiet and clean. The accommodation is close to restaurants and shops and we enjoyed the cute cats and dogs that are residents too. We had a lovely, filling breakfast hosted by the owners in the morning before setting on our way up the rest of the garden route. The beds were particularly comfy and while we didn't swim, we enjoyed a relax by the pool in the evening. Highly recommended,

Well located, clean,secure, lovely.
Stayed for one night but could have stayed for longer. Baleia is well located near the beach and near to cafes ,Bars & galleries. Loved the setting around the courtyard pool. The property is extremely secure and tropical in design. With a lovely breakfast and little honesty system bar this is the perfect place to relax and to base yourself in to explore the area. I thoroughly enjoyed my overnight stay while my husband rode Wines2Whales. The location of the accommodation is great - it was quiet and I could walk to town comfortably; I loved the green effect of the hedge through the window; I had an excellent night's sleep; the host and staff were friendly and kind; and my room and bathroom were spotlessly clean.
