The hotel was not in great condition. We had to move rooms twice because of the smells and the room being unclean. However the staff was very kind and accommodating.

The hotel is run down. The halls are dirty and smell like marijuana. The room wasn’t as bad as the halls. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Cheaper than most places around there.

The staff were friendly and helpful. We didn’t realize where this was located and how it can get a bit sketchy. It felt more like a motel and noticed a lot of the hotel guests were staying and living there more permanently. It could seem a bit unsafe as we didn’t know the type of people that lived there although they did seem nice. The hotel was clean and had the very basic amenities of having your clean bed, fridge, towels, toiletries and such but the area was what we didn’t like. It worked for what we needed for just one night.

The hotel is and the room were clean but just dated. It looked like many amenities in our room and in the hotel were rather old. It also seemed that there were people living in the hotel if not permanently, but for very long time. We saw parents taking their kids to school in the morning and socializing (drinking) on the parking lot in the evening. There were strange-looking people wandering though the property at all times. It is definitely not a business traveler hotel. However, whatever the hotel is lucking in terms of amenities and ambiance, was compensated by their staff who are extremely welcoming and helpful. There was not a question or request they would not address (or at least attempt to address).

Toilet issues and cheap pillows
The toilet did not flush. We had to tell the front desk. Then, every time you flushed the toilet it then ran until you took the lid off the top and adjusted the bar to get the toilet to stop running. The pillows are the worst pillows I have ever had in a hotel. There are stains on the ceiling and the bathroom floor was dirty.

It was strange
It was a strange experience. Everonewas nice. Its cleanliness was middle of the road. But it would have been good to know that it's bring used as some sort of extended stay place for homless or rehabing people. Just a lot of people hanging around. Made my spouse very uncomfortable

Won’t stay here again.
They over charged my credit card. They got paid for 6 rooms, but still withholding 4 more rooms, won’t release the fund withholding. Call them but still nothing happened. Don’t stay here.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I spoke with you over the phone and advised that the additional authorizations will come off the cards within a few business days. Some credit card companies do place an additional hold on your card after the charge for the room but that is not something we can control at the hotel level. With Monday being a holiday and banks being closed, that will likely add time to the hold being released. We hope you enjoyed your experience at the hotel.

The staff was super friendly.Rooms were clean,but outdated.Like other reviews,there were people wandering around outside.We didn't have any problem with any of them,but it was weird.You could smell the smoke,in the corridors.I assume from the rugs.

Yes, we do have a lot of hanging out, however there is no smoking in any Vermont hotels, motels, bars, inns and even some streets so there will alway be persons outside. Won't Be Returning!
The hotel owners should tell customers that they are a homeless voucher hotel when someone inquires about accommodations. The property is somewhat rundown and needs some work.

Reservation cancelled for overbooking
My reservation (already paid for the room) was cancelled last minute the morning we left for Burligton because the hotel was overbooked. Luckily I checked my e-mail at 6AM on the drive to Burlington and saw I received an e-mail telling me the hotel was overbooked and they had no more room for us (we had a dog). Spent 1h30 on the phone on our way there with a very nice lady from Hotels.com trying to find a new petfriendly hotel close to our original hotel. Thanks to her patience, she found a new hotel for us for the exact same price. Stressful drive to begin a long weekend away but everthing turned out to be fine at the end.

We immediately felt unsafe when we arrived at this hotel and we ended up cancelling our stay. This hotel is also being used as housing, so there were residents roaming around, which made us feel like we were intruding. The building is not well maintained, even though there seemed to be construction going on. There were cars in the lot with broken windows. There was a resident across the hall from our room who was smoking cigarettes with the door open. In the parking lot someone was smoking something that looked illegal. Overall it felt awkward and unsafe. At least the man at the front desk was very nice and gave us a refund right away.

I needed a place to stay so I guess it was convenient. But the hotel is old and outdated, the pool was not what the picture indicated. The staff was friendly. The room was clean. No coffee machine but free at breakfast.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! It is a shelter for the homeless who are hanging out in the parking lot and the lobby are. We did not even go to our room. We paid a non-refundable payment, and now I see why this hotel does this, because as soon as you pull up, you realize you've been screwed. There was no way I was leaving my vehicle in this parking lot with so many unsavoury people hanging out in it. I never felt so unsafe in my life!!!!

I'm sorry your Anonymous for I would gladly look into your non-refundable reservation, we are very clear with our guests when asked and if you had told us at the Front Desk that you had concerns we would have gladly discussed and possibly been able to help you cancel your non-refundable reservation that was made through a third party and not us directly. We are not a homeless shelter we have many displaced families due the recent flooding's in the area as well as many extended stays. Many contractors, traveling nurses. Because the State of Vermont has a law of not smoking in Hotels, Motels, Inns any guests that are smokers must smoke outside, just b/c they smoke doesn't make them a homeless person. We wish you all the best in your future travels.

Very difficult to see entrance at night when approaching from the East on Rte 15. No reflectors or spotlights. Lots of characters hanging the parking lot in the daytime, but not bothering anyone. Room was nice, modern, and beds were comfortable, and everything worked. Staff were nice and helpful.

Employees made it very good
Gary from the front desk opened the door for me as I came in. He really seems to enjoy his work. Check in was easy, and the room was what you expect for Days Inn. Effort goes into keeping it clean and I really liked the bag over the TV remote to indicate that they are thinking about those sources of germs. I asked about local bus travel at the from desk, and both team members helped with looking up schedules and describing where to get on across the street. I loved that surprise in my trip: I didn't get in my car again until I left town. Check out was easy too. I was surprised to not be able to get ice because there were guys fixing the machine right then, but the employee who served breakfast helped me find some in the kitchen. Breakfast was plenty and a nice thing not to worry about in town.

The staff was really nice, the bed was very comfortable, but the room smelled of cigarette and was quite noisy due to the people hanging around in the parking lot all day. I didn't feel very safe. The carpet in the room didn't feel clean, crumbs in the sliding door rail, dust on furniture, things looked so worn out... Also, the price was ridiculously high for what you got. A sign on the door (in the room) said maximum charging price was $197, and I paid close to $240 for that stay.. I will not come back there. :(

The hotel did not look at all like the photos. Nowhere did it mention that the Burlington VT hotel had been rented out to house homeless people, which is great. But we should have been notified before paying in advance. The parking lot was full of people hanging out with other homeless people who were not in the hotel. There were broken windows and dirty carpet. Because there are no refunds, I lost my money. I will never book through Expedia again.

My husband and our two kids arrived at the Days Inn. Our try to get into our room proved that there was someone in the room we were allocated. The door unlocked and the person inside was not happy. The second room the front desk gave us had people fighting in the adjacent room. The third room was open but the bathroom was dirty. We will not be staying here at the Days Inn again.

We apologize your experience was less than satisfactory. Checking someone into an occupied room is a very rare occurrence and not typical with our hotel. After looking back in our front desk log, we can't find any notes that describe the situation you have stated happened. It was noted that the first room you tried to check into had trouble with the door and you and the staff couldn't get it open at all. After that issue, you were moved to another room that you remained it and we didn't hear about any issues after that. The original room was not occupied but just had a lock issue that was rectified the following morning by maintenance. Please know the front desk staff is always available to address your concerns while you are here.

This is a difficult property to review. On the plus side the bedroom was excellent, the bed was comfortable, it had needed amenities and looked recently renovated. The breakfast was all also better than I thought and the hours were extremely convenient. The staff were great: Friendly and helpful. But there's no denying that the outside and common areas of the hotel are extremely dated and a little dingy. Also the parking lot seemed to attract a number of people who would hang around all day which had me a little concerned for the safety of the cars. My biggest grumble is that, for what it was, it was extremely expensive but it was on a peak weekend so I knew I had to pay it. I would stay there again only if the price was much better.

I will never stay here again. It’s dirty. There was a bunch of… detritus in the hall directly outside our door. There were sketchy people around the lobby and parking.

We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay. Unfortunately the "detritus" that you found seemed to be dirt that had fallen off someone's shoes when going to a room nearby. We do not have housekeeping 24/7 to vacuum the hallways and so things like this do happen. The people outside were people going to the designated smoking areas as our hotel is a smoke free building. We will work on making visits more pleasurable and wish your well on your future stays at other properties.

Don’t have regrets! Don’t book here.
The hotel smelled like chlorine, and once we got into our room it stank of stale cigarettes. The ceiling was leaking in the hallway, the elevator was broken. We knew we couldn’t get a refund because it was too late, so we left and just paid for another hotel room somewhere else. It was that bad. This place was falling apart, felt dirty and smelled terrible.
