Imagine dragons concert

Just a block away from the venue, Toyota Center, awesome view, pool was very clean, no need to ask for more towels, they were already there before we came back. Loved our experience.

Weekend Visit to Houston

Posted Jul 13, 2015
Pros: Excellent staff, our room = spacious + comfortable suite, great views = Discovery Green, George R Brown, BBVA Compass Stadium. Very eclectic decor.
Cons: When the hotel is hosting large groups - suggest having extra pool maintenance, cleaned a few times each day.
Location: Ideal property - easy walk - if attending a conference @ George R Brown Convention Center, game at Houston Rockets Basketball Facility.
Hubby & I planned a very last minute trip to Houston to attend an East Indian Chariot Festival being held at Discovery Green (Houston Public Space). I chose the Embassy Suites (Hilton) downtown property as it was very close (walking distance) to Discovery Green. This property is ideal for guests who are attending a conference, very manageable walking distance to the George R Brown Convention Center and the Houston Rockets Basketball Facility. We could see the BBVA Compass Stadium from our suite, alas, you would need to take a taxi to this destination. Input on the use of taxi's - we found the fares to be all over the place. Learn from our experience: before getting into the taxi, let the the driver know where you wish to go and immediately ask how much the fare will be? Downtown fares fall between $6.00 - $10.00. Interested in a funky, delicious and reasonably priced Mexican restaurant. Highly recommend El Real Tex-Mex located on Westheimer Road in the Montrose neighborhood. It's housed in an old cinema, bright, colorful, open floor plan. Menus - Wide variety of Margaritas choices. Traditional Tex Mex Menu - fresh ingredients, something for everyone and very large portions. OLE

Great hotel next to the Toyota Center

Posted Jun 29, 2015
I stayed one night to attend an event at the Toyota Center. The walk took less than 5 mins (including waiting to cross the street!) The hotel has a great complimentary breakfast and cocktail hour! The hotel is very clean and well maintained. I will definitely recommend it to everyone and will most definitely be returning!

More pros than cons

Beautiful hotel and room with pool. Liked the separate living area, it's good for kids. Delicious breakfast. Issues: terrible bathroom door design - just not private and toddlers push it right open. Parking cost a pretty penny. Bed was too stiff for me (typical hotel bed).

Great downtown Houston hotel

Posted Jun 15, 2015
Pros: Room size/layout, Complimentary happy hour and breakfast, location.
Cons: Better bathroom door (sliding door does not close completely or lock and has wide gap near floor which prevents complete privacy)
Location: Downtown Houston close to GRB, Discovery Green, Toyota Center, Minute Maid Park, BBVA Compass Stadium, Houston Shops
Decently priced for the location. Amenities included are great! Spacious and clean suites, premium cable channels, great park/city views, nice outdoor pool, complimentary happy hour and breakfast buffet. Cheap surface parking on premises.
