Nice and relaxing ChateauPosted Apr 17, 2014
Nice location near Amboise. The property was very nice and the staff very helpful. My family of four had plenty of room too. The dinner downstairs was very enjoyable and a treat.

Nice ChateauPosted Mar 30, 2014
Nice Chateau and appreciated having been upgraded as wife could not walk up several flights. On the other hand, we were disappointed that the restaurant was not open that evening.

Great hotelPosted Oct 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel itself is perfect, great chateau, comfortable room, good facility, you name it. However, it's a little bit far away from everything, better have a car for staying there.

Cute, pricey, and a little arrogantPosted Oct 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
The location of the hotel was wonderful, only a short drive to the cute little town of Amboise and near enough to major roads to get to many of the classic chateaus (Chenonceau, Villandry, Chambord, Chaumont). The "petite chambre" was pretty small, but clean and not uncomfortable for a 4-night stay. It's a very nice little place, though many of the staff we encountered were a bit on the arrogant side. They are very proud of their Michelin-star restaurant -- and indeed, it is quite excellent -- but how about a little "welcome" before informing us that we can't possibly eat there tonight, tomorrow, or the next day, as it is fully booked. Also, if you're restaurant is that busy, why should you have an issue with hotel guests who might want to picnic on the grounds? I understand not wanting food in the rooms, but people have to eat somewhere. We don't regret staying there, as it's difficult to find a nice place sight-unseen from another continent, but if we knew the area better there were other options that would have been friendlier and much, much less expensive.

CharmingPosted Sep 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed in the guest house rooms which were clean and spacious. The bathroom had a shower with wash clothes which Americans appreciate. The grounds were also very spacious and peaceful...great view of the French countryside. Had a pool if interested in swimming or lounging. While the breakfast was lacking, dinner at their restaurant was worth every penny if looking to splurge on an upscale meal. Amboise was just a few minutes away which is as charming.

A real treat and great for familyPosted Aug 23, 2013
Pros: Character, friendliness, comfort, location.
Cons: Pool facilities. Breakfast choices increased for the price.
Location: Amboise was stunning, and just down the road in the car. Evening market along the streets. Wish we'd had more time in the area to explore.
A real treat as a one-night stop-over on the way back from the Dordogne to the ferry at Caen. Staff very friendly, lovely room in 'Pavillion' room facing the chateau, which was really great with an upstairs for the 2 kids. Very comfortable bed. Swimming pool was nice, but only a few sun loungers and it was busy when we arrived. We ate out in Amboise, which was beautiful, with lots of choice and a wonderful market by the Chateau. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Perfect Chateau Stay That Didn't Bust The BudgetPosted Jul 6, 2013
Our family of 4 went to France for the first time and wanted to stay in a chateau for 2 nights and really lucked out with our pick. Everything was perfect! The spacious two-bedroom suite was room enough for two adults and two teenagers. The grounds were extensive and the kids had a great time in the pool while us adults walked the grardens and ate fresh strawberries, raspberries and cherries from the bushes and trees. The staff was extremely accommodating without being oeverbearing - we felt like we had our own valets. We splurged one night at the chateaus' Michelin Star-rated restaurant and were happy that we did. Every bite was worth the cost and calories!
