This listing is for our Beach Apartment with three bedrooms and two bathrooms in Haudimar Beach Apartments at Jobos Beach, Isabela. This Apartment is on the first floor, offering a view of the garden and a partial view of the ocean (as shown in the listing photos). This apartment is excellent for a family of 7. This unit convenient because you can easily walk from your balcony to the swimming pool. The condominium has basketball court, and direct access to the beach. Enjoy a wonderful stay in our beloved Isabela, where the people are friendly, the beaches are crystal clear, and the food is exquisite. Families will be able to enjoy the beautiful nature of the northwest area of the Island. In the beach area, you will find the bicycle path where you ride a bicycle or rent an electric scooter and cruise along the different beaches. And also, nearby, there is horseback riding by the beach, snorkeling, scuba diving, surf lessons, and other fun activities under the sun. Also, in the next town, Aguadilla, you will find “Las Cascadas Water Park.” In San Sebastian, you will enjoy“Gozalandia Waterfalls.” For nighttime fun, there are multiple bars and restaurants. Surfers can find beaches with diverse levels of difficulty: Jobos, Middles, Secret Spot, Wilderness, and Surfers Beach, among others.

DISCLOSURE

Beach life: Living on the Beach is a beautiful experience, different from what you can find in the countryside or city. This property is on the Northwest Coast of the Island of Puerto Rico, where a constant breeze comes from the ocean to the land at speeds of 10-20 miles per hour. This wind contains a high concentration of salt and fine sand. As a result of these weather conditions, you can expect to find sticky surfaces, slippery floors, stained window glass, traces of moisture or salt in the fans or air conditioners, and any other slippery or moist surfaces. Traces of rust in appliances and other metal components are also typical. We clean this property after check-out. We also do a quick inspection and retouch surfaces if needed before guests arrive; however, it is impossible to maintain the areas spotless because of this weather. These conditions vary by location of the property and by position within the apartment complex. If you book multiple apartments on the same property, you may experience different scenarios.

Local Beaches: Puerto Rico has a great diversity of beaches. Beaches on the North and East side of the Island are often wavy. The South and west coasts stay calm most of the year. The Beach in front of the Complex is unsuitable for swimming, but when the conditions are right, you may find a shallow pond between the reef and the shore. The nearest area with a sandy beach will be Jobos Beach, located 2/3 of a mile east of the Complex. You can walk right from your Apartment. At 1.5 miles to the west, you can find Shacks Beach. This Beach is great for snorkeling. Always be cautious when entering a body of water. Be aware of the swell conditions and stay away from the Beach if the waves are big. Within a 5-minute drive from the Apartment, there are two beach ponds with calm water: Montones’ and Teodoro. Another must-see Beach is Crash Boat Beach, which is 20 minutes away.

Note about bugs: Puerto Rico is a Tropical Island with a great diversity of bugs. We spray our apartments every month, but there is a high possibility that you will run into bugs on the property, especially during nighttime. Changes in the weather, like rain or temperature, can also make bugs enter the Apartment. Bug encounters may vary from one property to another, but it is unpredictable.

Note about wildlife: Puerto Rico has no dangerous species; however, you can run into Iguanas, rodents, and even stray dogs or cats. If you do run into any wild or stray animals, do not pet them or feed them. They may not be friendly.

Storm / Hurricane season: The official hurricane season in Puerto Rico is from June 1st to November 30th. We strongly suggest that all future guests get travel insurance, especially during hurricane season. We will not offer last-minute refunds due to storms or rain unless it is a big event that affects the Island utilities. We could make an exception if the power and water supply are interrupted for over 24 hours.

Utilities (water and electricity) in Puerto Rico are reasonably stable; however, we can have some isolated interruptions during the year. We will consider offering a refund if the interruption lasts over 24 hours. A 25% discount will be applied to the nightly rate of each night spent without a utility. The discount will be prorated by the hours affected. We will not provide any refunds or discounts for internet-related issues.

Swimming Pool: Your rental does not guarantee the use of the Swimming Pool. The pool is often open during pool hours, but sometimes it needs extra care. If the pool is closed for maintenance or other reason, please be kind to the Condominium’s staff. You may ask them when it will reopen, and they’ll provide any available information. There will be no discount if you cannot use the pool during your stay.

The boardwalk in front of the Complex is no longer available. The Beach is accessible through the wood bridge in the center of what was the boardwalk. Currently, the tennis court is not in service.

All the units that we manage have different owners. We provide the units fully equipped. Items such as towels, pots, and pans, among others, must be returned to the Apartment to which it belongs. Please note that other hosts rent apartments in this Condominium, and we will not likely receive our missing items back.

Please take good care of the property. We put lots of effort and money into providing an excellent experience for our guests. We understand the difference between normal wear and tear and property damage. Makeup stains or any other permanent stain are not considered normal wear and tear. We will charge the guests the replacement cost of damaged or missing goods such as towels, furniture, decoration, kitchenware, or any other lost or damaged component.

Haudimar Beach Apartments
Beautiful resort! Well maintained and convenient to all the nearby beaches. Isabela is a short drive away and the town plaza is definitely worth a visit. Dont forget to stop by at Rex Ice Cream next to the beautiful Church. Crash Boat had the best beach but Jobos had the best restaurants and vendors. It was fun watching the surfers riding those big waves. It was a wonderful vacation.

This is our second time staying at this location. We booked it for the prime location to top beaches on the west coast - Crash Boat and Jobos. We are very finicky when choosing a location and much to our delight, it checked off all the “must have” boxes for us. We will definitely return and recommend this place to our family and friends.

Exactly as the pictures
We were a family of 7 with seniors and small children for a weekend stay. The apartment was clean, look exactly as the pictures. AC’s and fridge were in excellent condition. Pool was near. Loved the hammock in the porch, perfect to relax for a while in the night breeze. Centrally located to beaches and restaurants. Even though the complex beach is not apt for swimming you can take strolls and if you want a beach safe for kids you can take a 10 min drive to Villas del Mar Hau Hotel and pay a fee for the parking and use the facilities as well as the beach.

Honest Review
I will say that our overall vacation was great, based on location, activities, and beaches, however, I will NEVER stay in this unit again. I would like to preface this review by saying that I have stayed in this complex (other units) 3 times and have never had a problem until now. Although the host quickly responded when I messaged about the leaking air conditioner and the leaking toilet and he had it fixed, he did not respond to our request for new knives (the handle was broke on one and the other one literally could not slice a lime)...This made it difficult because we were not able to cut ANYTHING, which is challenging when you are trying to cook. You can't utilize both showers at the same time because of water pressure. Also, I had to cook eggs in a pasta sized pot because the "one" frying pan was in such bad shape that everything stuck to it and it was impossible to clean. The worst part, after we checked out, I got an email stating that we were going to be charged $200 for damages. He stated that we broke a shade (which we never touched the whole time we were there), a small piece of wood chipped off of the steps of the bunk bed (not to our knowledge), and stated that we broke a shelf in the fridge. NOW, the shelf in the fridge did in fact break, BUT it was already cracked and while I was unpacking groceries on our first day, and I put a half gallon of milk on the shelf, the whole shelf fell to my feet and broke (including the milk). I tried to fight the charges, because in my opinion, properties that are rented week after week are obviously going to take some wear and tear, which is why an owner should be utilizing rental money to keep up with the property. It should at no point be the responsibility of the renter to pay for normal wear and tear items. If those things hadn't broken on us, they would have broken on the next tenants...we just happened to be the unlucky ones and are now being charged. So if you choose to rent from this host (and be aware he has multiple properties in this complex), then I strongly urge you to do a walk-through of the entire property when you check in and write down EVERYTHING that you see wrong with it and let him know immediately so that you don't get blindsided at the end of your vacation with charges like we did. It was absolutely horrible to end our trip that way. Lastly, I would like to say that Haudimar Beach Apartments is a great place to stay (location is perfect), just not at this hosts units.
