Jessica, so sorry you got sick. The bacteria was a very mild strain and bottled drinking water was provided for all guests, so you shouldn't have gotten sick from the water.

Wow! You really stretched the truth here. I don't understand why you are being so vindictive. You even took the time to post this review to Trip Advisor! Why? We kindly gave you a refund even though we have a 3-day cancellation policy because your wife said she was immunocompromised and didn't feel comfortable staying there. There is coliform in the water. Not all coliform is E. Coli! In fact coliform will not make most people sick. I and some of my helpers drink the water all of the time. But because there is a slight possibility it could make someone sick we put up the signs and provide water as instructed by the Health Department. It is 100% safe to shower with as well. In 5 months only one guest has gotten sick since we tested positive (as has much of the whole area of Island Park!) and started providing water for our guests and they could just as easily had food poisoning from something they ate elsewhere.When the Health Department came out to check the well after it tested positive they found no problems with the well itself. However, he did an inspection of our kitchen and saw we were serving eggs for breakfast and informed us that if we want to serve eggs we have to have a food license because eggs can carry salmonella. He didn't forbid us to serve eggs because we were not clean. If that had been the case he would not have allowed us to serve food at all!The place is kept very clean. In fact that is one of the things guests write in their reviews over and over again is how clean the place is!As for the drainage backup in the house, that was because guests were flushing paper towels, feminine products, etc. down the toilet. Some of the cost incrued was for clean up! Everything that got wet was sanitized. I don't know why you smelled old dry milk. I have up to 20 guests a night and you are in the only one to ever mention the places smelling bad.

You were told how far we are from Yellowstone and restaurants so you shouldn't have stayed if you didn't like that. Sorry about the slow internet. When lots of guests get on at the same time then it can get slow! Thanks for staying.

The water tested positive for coliform. Not all coliform is e-coli. Most coliform is totally safe but as a precaution we provide water for our guests. I drink this water all of the time as do some of my helpers who have been working for me and drinking the water before it was tested with no ill affects! It is 100% safe to shower and brush teeth with as stated on the sign but we still provide water in the bathrooms. Thanks for staying.

I'm sorry that it made you uncomfortable. I don't know why since you provided water for you to drink and as explained the bacteria is so mild it won't make most people sick (I drink it all the time!) and it won't harm you in any way to shower in it.
