"Juni es una persona maravillosa que estuvo pendiente de nosotras y de ayudarnos en todo momento. El alojamiento maravilloso, no tan lejos del centro de Matanzas. Un lugar MUY limpio y cuidado al detalle. Lo recomiendo y deseo volver a Matanzas para alojarme aquí y volver aa ver a Juni. Gracias por hacer de nuestra estancia una de las más agradables que recuerdo."

"We had the best introduction to Cuba by choosing La Soñada and Matanzas for our first night after landing at the Veradero airport. A short $35 USD taxi ride to Matanzas. Viazul bus booked in advance would have been a lot cheaper. Lesson learned. Arrival and check into La Soñada was pleasant and hassle free. Location is good - short walk to Plaza Libertad downtown and the Etecsa office where we set up Cubacel service for our stay. 4 GB data, voice and SMS for 11 days about $1025 CUP or well under $5 USD at the standard Casa host exchange rate of 250 peso/$1USD. We met a friendly local and walked with him to a park at the top of the hill and drank a bottle of high quality clean rum for less than $5 with an amazing view of this small city and the nearby valley. Back to La Soñada for what by far (after 5 days in this country) has been the best meal we've had. I had fish, my friend had lobster. Sooooo good and even a slice of tasty lime cake for dessert. The price was about what I would have paid or slightly less than a similar in Toronto. Not cheap but worth every penny. Harmando was an excellent and accommodating host with lots of good and useful advise that has all proven to be on point. The room was again, the best we've had so far. Two queen sized beds, one upstairs one down. Clean, quiet and private. I highly recommend this place!"
"This was my second time staying at this casa particulares. Ownership or management has changed and Edith is outstanding. She is on Whatsap so response is very prompt. I am a trekker so my goal is to stay in basic and affordable accommodations but more important in proximity to the main plaza as well as places I am visiting.
I travel to Matanzas via the Viazul so the cost of a taxi from the bus terminal to the property is approximately 750-1000 pesos.which translated to under $3USD. The trick is make sure you get a good exchange for your money.
The property is full service as included in my price was breakfast (my request was simply coffee and fruit). Upon request Edith will make the internet available. You will receive a key to your room. As for coming/going, simply text Edith when you are about 10 minutes from the property and she/someone will be there to open the front door.
The property has been recently restored so you are in for a very nice treat. Again, my preference is casa particulares and never a hotel, because I prefer to immerse myself with Cubans and enjoy the cultural exchange."

"The property is not updated. The kitchen was very poorly equipped. The best thing was the hot shower. Mattress was thin and had no box spring. The second bedroom was used one night at a cost of $20."
