I am delighted that you liked your room at Ginnegaap and that the staff took care of you. I am, however, really sorry that you did not see the air conditioner in your room. We know it is quite chilly at night during the winter months and over and above electric blankets, we have air conditioners in all our garden rooms and apartments with heaters in our budget and standard rooms. I hope you will visit us again so that you can have a nice and warm room during your stay.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review Ginnegaap and your positive comments. You mentioned that it is not safe to walk in Melville till about 5pm. Although I understand that one is cautious to walk around at night with Johannesburg's bad reputation in the foreign press, Melville has a good reputation for walkers at night. If you follow the rules for walking around any big city, nothing will happen to you. Of cause I cannot guarantee anything, but for the last 8 years, we only had one incident of someone being robbed on the street by a person who saw an opportunity.

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am glad that you find the staff welcoming and friendly. As this is a guest house and not a hotel built from the start to serve as guests rooms, you get different sized rooms, some of them on the sunny side, others not. Some large and some small. That is why we have different types of rooms with different rates. The quality of each room is, however, the same and all the rooms have the same facilities.

Thank you for your stay at Ginnegaap and sharing your experience with other travelers. We were pleased to read you liked our rooms and breakfast, but were sorry to hear there were some issues with our outside area and the sliding door in one of our bathrooms. The rooms where we have a bathroom sliding door are unfortunately smaller and a door take up a lot of space. We do, however, take note of your opinion and will try our best to address this issue. We realize that it is a problem that we do not have a lounge area for guests when it is cold or rainy outside and will hopefully be able to do something about this soon. We have big plans to improve our outside area this coming winter and we hope that you will visit us again to see our improvements
