Our KC visit

Posted Dec 11, 2014
Pros: Nice clean room. Friendly staff. Good breakfast choices.
Cons: Since I love donuts, cakes, pastries I would suggest adding some sort of donut or pastry to your breakfast bar. Everything else was great.
We were looking for a reasonable place to stay while in KC. We found Oak Tree and it was very nice.

Oak Tree in gave my room away

Posted Dec 8, 2014
I had a confirmed late check-in and called twice the same evening to confirm that a two bed room would be available when I arrived. When I got to the hotel, no more two bed rooms were available. I do not recommend staying at this hotel if you plan to arrive late.

Ok for the price

Posted Dec 8, 2014
Pros: looked nice, good location, good price
Cons: Maintenance
Maintenance was poor. Clogged sinks and tubs, shower heads that had hard water build up and wouldn't let water out, and AC/Heating that didn't work well made it difficult to enjoy the stay. The room was nice and most of the staff was friendly.

Cheap and dirty looking room. Loud all night. Staff gave me a key to a room that all ready had occupants.

In need of some repair

Posted Dec 5, 2014
Pros: Exercise room had working equipment. Breakfast was good.
Cons: Maintenance of the facility.
Location: Hotel is located in a thin strip between a bluff and railroad tracks/freeway. It is mostly businesses. I would not walk alone at night.
The hotel is in need of repair in many areas. The front counter is held together with duct tape, there is wiring exposed - putting in new lighting? The tub faucet leaked and there were no towels around in the exercise room. On the plus side, the exercise equipment worked well. The pool is outdoor, but the hot tub is indoor, so it can be used in the winter. However, the hot tub is located in the middle courtyard - where all three wings of the hotel converge, so people are walking by often and there is not much room. Overall, the hotel looks like they gave it an upscale look, but used cheap materials and did not maintain it over the years, so now it looks and feels worn.

Average in every way, good location

Posted Dec 4, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff & location
Cons: needs new carpet or really good cleaning
Location: good southwest city location & easy access to I-29
Hotel staff were friendly. Room was OK. Bed was a little worn out but not too bad. Place could use new carpet. Price is reasonable and location was good for our needs.

An old motel with a very nice staff.

Posted Nov 20, 2014
Pros: The staff and the closeness to the Kauffmann Center. The staff is excellent. The motel is pet friendly.
Cons: Since the motel is old, it could use some updating, especially the heating/air conditioning system.
Location: The Kauffmann Center for the Performing Arts is only five to ten minutes away.
The motel is close to the Kauffmann Center for the Performing Arts. The shuttle is very accommodating if you have the time to wait for it. Expedia had failed to notify the Oak Tree Inn about our reservation, but they found us a room anyhow. Every single employee at the Oak Tree Inn was friendly, nice, and helpful. They are exceptional.

Very good considering how cheap it is

Posted Nov 6, 2014
Anything under a hundred a night is good deal and this place was a lot nicer and a lot cleaner than you'd expect for that price. Although the staff aren't the brightest and the place caters to laborers, it was a good stay.

Business stay

Posted Nov 6, 2014
Location: Cheap hotel close to Downtown and Power & Light District... Great Mexican restaurant next door...
Very nice staff, but the room was without soap or shampoo??? When I went down to request, I was told they were out? Disappointing... The room was clean, but dated, and the bed was a bit lumpy... The breakfast was satisfactory...
