Hotel is under construction, which is fine but don't expect to sleep past 6:25 when it starts. The lobby smelled like cigarettes, the gym was closed, and shower in room WAS DISGUSTING

Christmas in Kennett
This is a good hotel, beginning to show signs of wear. The staff was nice, but sometimes the front desk was unattended. But it was Christmas, so understood. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast. We were told we could do the buffet or made-to-order. We chose the made-to-order. My husband's order was OK, but I think I got something out of a steam table and it was not very good (scrambled eggs and potatoes both looked warmed up or steamed, not made fresh). The location was good, so there is always a chance we could stay here again. The jacuzzi was nice.

The hotel was located near Longwood Gardens. My family visited the gardens on Christmas night to view the light show. The hotel was very convenient for a one night stay.

I travel to relax and this place had the best hot tub I've ever been. The rooms were clean, shopping and food was very nearby. I would definitely stay at this place again.

Dresser drawer ghost
The staff is always courteous and helpful. The room is average, but one item in room 229 that stick out and is problematic is a dresser drawer that glides open on its own. What is needed is a serious effort to shim the front legs to level or tilt back slightly the dresser cabinet. Half hearted efforts using paper is a waste of energy.

Very pleasant reception on our arrival. Gloria was warm, welcoming and efficient. The hotel was clean and tidy. The beds were very comfortable. Easy access to Longwood Gardens.

The rooms definitely need an upgrade. Old type tub/showers. Heat/ac on wall falling off. New carpets, wall paper, counters, and fresh pillows needed. We usually bring ours and forgot. I put a towel over my pillow so I could sleep. Musty, stinky pillows are the worst…clean pillow case doesn’t help. Also on our visit noticed a lot of pets. We love pets but not in our room…and we had to change rooms due to the adjoining room having 2 dogs and a pot belly pig in it. Yes a pig….a barnyard animal. I understand we’ve domesticated them but not to stay in a hotel. I think this is a health risk. I have no idea what diseases a pig carry’s. Hope his head wasn’t on my pillow.

At 6:00 am the clock alarm went off and woke us up and we did not We were unaware that the clock was on the floor when we checked into the room. The carpet in the hallway looked worn and dirty outside our room. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the beds were very comfortable. We liked that the hotel was near our niece's home.

charging $3.00 for a bottle of water in your room if not a "club member" No free breakfast, not even coffee and doughnuts, pretty cheap for a Hilton at the prices charged. Will rethink where I stay next time in that area.

In short, I would not recommend that hotel. If you are interested in details, we booked 2 rooms-for me and my elderly relative with a limiting mobility, I asked for 2 adjoining rooms for convenience. When we arrived after tiring 4-hour drive we were offered 2 rooms next to each other but not connecting rooms. The front desk person told us they do not have connecting rooms contrary to info at their site. Then he notified us that the elevators do not work at the hotel, and we need to walk to the rooms to the 2d floor. It was fairy long distance for my relative so I asked for rooms on 1st floor, was told they have only one, so we stayed on different floors which was very inconvenient for us, I asked to find me a room close by may be on the next day, but never was offered one. I asked why the info about non-working elevators was not provided in advance, the clerk said it is present on their site, not at Expedia site. I checked later, could not find it on their site. So, when I unpacked my staff and was ready to go to bed at that night, after I untucked my bed I was really shocked to see that the sheets were not changed after previous guest, there was some hairs, pieces of lint, and even a small sharp plastic piece. Btw, the manager has never responded to my e-mail with complaint and to my message on her answering machine. I had to move to another room after midnight with all my belongings, they do not have a housekeeper at night to change linen. Overall-very disappointing!

When we arrived, we discovered that the roof was being replaced, the pool was closed, the restaurant was only open for breakfast (not included). None of that was communicated to me before check-in. The front desk had a credit card reader problem. Also, there was no one at the front desk when I had a question. When there was someone at the front desk, they were not even slightly helpful. There was garbage in the lobby, for several hours. A couple of days after we left, I received several text messages and emails...

This hotel is not worth the money… it was extremely disappointing for being a Hilton. The elevator was broken during our stay which was inconvenient since we had to carry everything up the stairs (at the end of the long hallway) to the 3rd floor. The carpets everywhere are stained and in need of replacing. Our room smelled terrible- like old smoke mixed with a damp odor and opening the window did not help. Water is not included unless you are a rewards member and the small bottles in the room are $3. The location was near where our event was which is why we selected this location. It is also along the main drag of restaurants and stores. Despite this perk, I would not stay here again. Needs updating and a good cleaning.
