Fantastic hotel
Love the views to the nature hills, very delicious breakfast, and good sleep beds, except that one of the two rooms that we got had a very strong smell of moat’s ball scent that even with the door open didn’t go away.

Awesome view!! Fantastic Austrian surroundings. Climb to Nockstein. Spacious room for 3. The only downside is the bathroom. The window of the bathroom should be given a proper curtain.

Super friendly staff!!!
It was so wonderful! Close enough to the city of Salzburg but far enough for peace and quiet. The breakfast included in the morning was fantastic!! And they even made me a latte and espresso!

Nice stay. Pretty Gasthof!
Nice hotel in quiet town near to Salzburg. Highly recommend to families with young children because there are play structures, slides, toys and bunnie rabbits. Room was not fully made up for us when we arrived, but the nice front desk clerk took care of it right away. Very pleasant outdoor dining area/ beer garden. Extra points to the very friendly black cat (Melina) who greeted us when we arrived.

Family of four, touring the Alps region, 1 night.
We stayed with our 6 & 8 year old children and they loved the play park and we enjoyed the restaurant and the view. We loved he location just outside of Salzburg, on the way to the lakes region.

Great to be out of town, but gps. Is a must
5 miles out of Saltzburg in beautiful countryside but easy to get into town or park and ride bus. Good food, breakfast, service, local Products. Room was fine, no ac. But if the mnt. Weather is cool , no problem.

Awesome place!
I loved this house! We had a nice balcony with beautiful views of rural Austria. The breakfast was wonderful; the best croissants and homemade jams I've ever eaten. The playground was very welcomed, especially the cool down hill slide. I will definitely stay here again when in the area.

Good location but not great.
Location was fine. Breakfast was adequate. The area smelled like a barn but for the most part, the room did not smell that way. Rooms were very clean and the quad room was excellent size for our family of four. However non-working lights rendered the small eating area unusable. There was a refrigerator in the room but the interior of it was room temperature.

Ok but not great
Well located to Salzburg and countryside. Room was clean but several lights in room and hallway not working made it dark. Refrigerator in room did not work. Bathroom was large and very nice but shower configuration left us with lots of water on the floor! Breakfast was decent.

Family friendly hotel!! Beautiful location
We had a lovely stay at this hotel. We were beyond impressed by the family friendliness and extras they had for the kids to include a nice park with a huge slide and an indoor play area near the restaurant. Breakfast was very delicious and had a huge selection. The restaurant menu had a nice selection as well. It was located just over 10 minutes from Salzburg and provided a nice getaway from the busy city with beautiful views of the Alps. We were able to locate the hotel with our GPS and it was easy to find at night because of the Christmas lights they had surrounding the hotel however it may be challenging to find at night without the lights so I recommend locating it with google maps. I highly recommend this hotel!!

Rural experience outside Salzburg
Got a nice suite with multiple beds--plenty of space for the entire family. This family-owned Gasthof is well-suited for kids (loved the playground) and boasts a wonderful view across the valley. We found the breakfast buffet to be fantastic. Short 10-15 minutes to downtown Salzburg, but you get the experience of staying in the serene country/mountains.

It is outside the city, it can be very dark and hard to find the streets to turn at night. We enjoyed the breakfast and the supper meal we ate there. The rooms were very nice sized. The heat worked very well. Had to sleep with the windows open. :-) Free and spacious parking. The only negative was the smoking was allow in the restaurant this made it difficult to breath. The door to the restaurant was open to the hall wall and the smoke would work it way through the hall and stair way. I would have rated higher but the smoke was a negative.

Good hotel in this farming/tourist village
The staff speaks adequate English for foreign guests. The food in their restaurant is good. I loved how the cows (with their big bells) came out of the house next door every morning (bottom side level was for the animals, and I presume the farmer lived in the other part). The rooms were clean, medium sized. Comfortable beds. Great location. Adequate parking. Great access to tourist sites in the area. Short drive (10 minutes) to Fussen. Would definitely stay here again.

Great Gasthof!
My family and I had a great stay! The kids loved the big playground! The staff was very good and very helpful. The rooms are very nice and big. We hope to come back again.

Bittersweet stay
My mistake was too arrive late at night at this hotel. I had a hard time finding it in the first place, once I was given the keys and directed to the adjoining house, I was quite hesitant to stay since everything was pitch dark and I was genuinely scared. I figured my chances of survival at a rest area were greater than this place. There were a couple of spiders in the room. I wasn't able to lock the back door and I felt uneasy. I even grabbed whatever form of weapon at my disposal and have it underneath my pillow, close to my chest and I slept with my clothes on right after I called and texted my family of my location in case they wouldn't be able to reach me. I know, I know, it sounds hilarious now that I am typing this out. Quite ridiculous, but it was almost midnight and I just wanted to quit my day. And so, I slept and woke up quite refreshed. I opened the back door that wouldn't latch and was greeted by a beautiful view of trees surrounding the area (no wonder it was pitch dark). I walked outside and for the time, I was able to appreciate the beauty of its surroundings. It was quite beautiful! I went for breakfast and the staff was accommodating and pleasant enough. There were several choices in food, but I was just surprised at the rawness of the place, that I didn't eat much. I walked outside the perimeter and took several photos. Finally rested in one of the chairs they have scattered about and enjoyed the morning breeze.

Nice but hard to find
Almost impossible to find even using GPS. There are VERY poor if any directions on how to get there. The town only has about 10 houses and the street is not a listed street on GPS. Very clean and restaurant is very good.

Beautiful Hotel In the hills
We wanted a hotel close to Salzburg in the hills. We found this perfect gem. The rooms were huge, clean and had beautiful views. The bathtubs were large and worth soaking in. We ate dinner at their restaurant and our meal was the best one on our trip. We were delighted when the locals began to play their brass instruments for us in celebration of the Christmas season. We hope to return during summer to go hiking. This place was only 10 min. from downtown and the owners were wonderful.

Great Stay
Great stay... if you have access to a vehicle. I probably would not stay here if I didn't have a car. You are about 15-20 minutes from Salzburg. It's a bit of a hike. I can't speak to the public transport although I know a route runs on the main road which is about a 10 minute walk. The hotel itself was great. You also have access to hike trails right in about 5 minutes. All in all a great experience.

1 night stop in the outskirts of Salzburg. Hotel was nice, and the owner was very friendly. I stayed on a Tuesday night, and arrived to discover the bar/restaurant was shut. I had a tonne of work to do, so the owner opened the bar for me (as the wifi wouldn't work properly in my room) and even poured me a beer :) Had to drive to the other side of the village to find food though, as there was only one place open (which was basic, but ok)

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Beautiful remote surroundings, but easy access to Salzburg. It has awesome playground for kids on the side, (our kids are 6 and 9), and it's remote enough that I felt fine about letting them play down there, and just listen to them though the open door of our 2nd flr. balcony while I unpacked & packed up. They have a restaurant on the main level, with a menu that totally worked for us. The breakfast was a favorite of my husband this trip (good coffee, good bread and honey). The ladies in the restaurant are really accommodating, and kind. The guy at the front desk is fine, not too friendly, but adequate. There were people with babies there. Super family friendly. Oh… I thought we got our room for 4 on hotels.com for $115, but the guy at the desk charged us 115 euros, which bummed me out.

generally the hotel was good. Clean and comfortable. Its about 10min drive out of Salzburg. Tough without a car. The staff was working hard to please. English was spoken by two of the staff. Parking is not a problem. The hotel is at the base of the hills with many trails for walking/hiking so parking during the day can be very difficult. Wifi is poor at best.

Lovely room with separate bathroom and balcony.
Got off to a bad start when we found that the restaurant was closed. 'The chef was on holiday' for ten days. As this was the main reason we had booked - the reviews had been excellent - to say I was not best pleased is an understatement as we had to drive 12k into Salzburg each night for something to eat. When I complained, at first I didn't even get a 'sorry'. This was a real shame because the hotel is in a lovely area for walking (and skiing in the winter) The room in the annexe was large, obviously recently refurbished and the beds very comfy. The main hotel (dining area) is a bit tired, but clean. The breakfasts were good and had variety. All in all good value for money. Despite initial problems I would happily stay there again (checking when the chef was having his holiday first!) and I would recommend it to visitors to the area.

4 Night stay
We chose this guest house for its situation. Only a short bus ride into Salzburg and going the other way just minutes from the Lake district. The guest house is in two houses. The main bar / Restaurant building where breakfast is served as well and the seperate accommodation block on 3 floors. Our room on the second floor was bigger than your normal double room. No noise could be heard from the bar, but saying that it is a very quiet village anyway. Staff were very friendly and helpfull. Food was excellent and plentiful.

After a looooong day of travel, this place was so appreciated! Large room on third level with a large deck and the view was beyond gorgeous. The decor is nothing fancy but all was clean and the beds and lines super comfy. We had a nice dinner and breakfast outside. Huge slide which our 12 year old must have gone down 30 times and I even tried it! Nice breakfast included with price.

Really warm and welcoming staff - good food (and beer!) We were really lucky as a local(?) fellow showed up with his guitar one evening and regaled everyone with music all night in the bar - so much fun!

Nice hotel in the hills of Salzburg
We had a very nice stay at a family owned hotel. The owner spoke very good english and was very accommodating. The view of the surrounding valley was very nice. Each morning were were greeted with a rooster crowing. The food in their restaurant was good and reasonably priced and of good quality. The internet service was average (limited to the restaurant and garden area). If we were ever to return to the Salzburg area we would stay at the hotel.

Expensive but well located hotel. It is really a hostel which accommodates backpackers and all types of people. In general OK. A tip for your visit in Munich: take a bike tour from the train station. It's was the best method to learn about Munich.

Great Vacation Trip
Excellent vacation stay at this Hotel about 10k from Salzburg. Family room had plenty of space, and was clean. The service was excellent. Owners and staff helped out in anyway possible….from sites recommendations, restaurants, etc. We will happily come back to this hotel!

Overall, I like this hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I got a quite big room with great view. It is a bit distance from Salzburg. Yes, it is outside Salzburg. However, due to the location, it has beautiful surrounding if you like nature. The downside, again, caused by its location, it has a short distance to the bus stop, which means you got to walk a bit in order to take the No.150. One last thing to mention, it has pretty strong smell of cigaret in the hallway for me.
