What an amazing place to stay , it’s absolutely beautiful and clean clean clean !!! There was not one spec of dust , dirt , grime anywhere !!! The corners of the floors and baseboards are spot free which are areas my eyes see especially in bathrooms, this place was spotless !!!! View of the mountains no matter which room you were in . Stayed in suite 8 which had the full view of the little park , and the most incredible view of the lake . I certainly appreciated how quiet the hotel was , we did hear people outside but that’s to be expected staying on the Main Street , but it was fine , didn’t bother us at all . Great location for hiking , we were minuits away from some amazing hikes , and the most amazing restaurants and shops , everywhere !!!! Shower was great , hot water and great pressure and an amazing view of the mountains while showering, just awesome. Parking was great , could see our car from our room , was a safe and well lit lot . Did not mind at all carrying our bags up to the room , that’s part of the charm here. Absolutely loved the Haus and would stay there again . Yulia was so so nice also , only met her during our check in , didn’t need her for anything once checked in as the accommodations were just perfect !!! Thank you for such as amazing stay !!!!!

The hotel is in a fabulous location and the room is large and terrific, with a full kitchen. Just like advertised. Only issues were (1) parking on Monday evening is a huge pain, (2) the electric base heaters make a lot of noise all night, and (3) you can hear people walking in the room above - so if they get up at 7am to go skiing, then you will awake up too. Overall it's a terrific place, but be aware of those three things.

Thank you for bringing those issue to our attention. 1) You stayed with us during Presidents week which is the busiest week of our winter season so yes parking gets difficult when Main Street has a lot going on for a few hours that is why our guests usually park their car upon check-in and don't really need it during their stay because everything is within walking distance from The Haus. And as events are over, parking lots are empty by 8-9pm.2) We did not have any complaints about the heaters, we will definitely take a look at it and see if the heater needs to be replaced.3) Unfortunately, noise in the hotels is a common thing, not everyone is considerate of other guests in the house.We hope you will come back to The Haus and consider staying on the top floor in suite 5, 6, 7 or 8 and we promise it is more quiet in those suites.

The room had all the amenities for eating in and also had a cool boutique feel. The staff were very nice and the location is perfect for shopping and eating out.

The room was very nice and comfortable and very clean. The website seems to indicate everyone has a balcony, not so. The parking instructions were vague and confusing , map blurry and not readable.

I can assure you and you can check it online, the website does not say that every room has a balcony, every suite has a special description and it does state if the room has a balcony or not. As per parking, that is why we have our receptionist walk our guests to their room and show where to park while we are out on the street and we are always available by phone, as you know because I did speak with you on the phone about parking:) We hope to see you back again!

Lovely room overlooking the lake. Check in was quick and easy, just left the key for check out. Located right in the hub of town, with access to lots of dining, shopping and activities. Parking off site, but easy walk and you never need your car while you're there :)

We always appreciate our guests feedback, unfortunately, there are codes and regulations we are to follow by law regarding the balcony rails, we are limited by what type of material we can use, width, height etc and the balconies are as shown in the pictures. Yes, we are an old building with no elevator as many of our reviews and the website itself mention. We provide you with 5 different parking options while most hotels on Main Street provide only one and if it is full, you are on your own.

Perfect overnight stay at The Haus. The unique, beautiful film fit right in with the Lake Placid atmosphere. Perfectly located in the center of Main Street. Host was welcoming and attentive. Clean and quiet. Would definitely recommend. We wouldn’t hesitate to go back!

Great location but no elevator.
The location couldn't be better, right in the middle of the shopping and dining area. The view was outstanding. The apartment is big enough, the kitchen well stocked with everything you might need (could use a second skillet). Once in the apartment, we were quite comfortable. There is no elevator available nor a reasonable loading/unloading area near the entrance. No one present to greet me so I paid for parking to find a pass in the room. the email didn't mention a pass. I had to make 6 trips up and down the steps to get everything to the room. The wife is not allowed to lift anything.

Marlon, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We appreciate our guests feedback as it is the best way to learn about our mistakes and get better. Thank you for complimenting our location, it is true that once you park your car you don’t really need it until your checkout day. You are absolutely right, we are not wheel chair accessible and we do not hide it, it is stated on our website, in every email we send out to our guests and is advertised all over the internet. Most of our reviews mention stairs as well. We have tried to figure out a way to install an elevator but our building is 117 years old and multiple architects said it is impossible to fit an elevator in without destroying one of the suites we have. As per parking, there is a drop off zone directly in front of the building and it is available unless another guest is using it to load/unload. Every email we sent you (4 total) mentions stairs, checkin procedure, loading/unloading and parking including the parking permit information.

We came to Lake Placid 5 years ago for our 25th anniversary and stayed at The Whiteface Lodge. We had a wonderful time so for our 30th we thought we'd try another property. The Haus on Mirror Lake sounded great and the photos looked very nice. We had the king suite with a balcony. In general, our unit could have used some TLC. Paint, plaster, etc. The balcony had rotting wood and loose boards. It also would have been nice to be told that the entire Main St. is being ripped up for construction and new sidewalks. Walking around town was a chore. Another issue was our room smelled of pot the whole time. I know that's not The Haus's fault but I would say someone was smoking in another unit. Another annoying issue is that because the front wall on the balcony is so high, when you sit you can't see any thing but the wall. I would suggest replacing it with a railing or glass so you can actually see the lake. If I were paying $150 a night I probably wouldn't be writing this review but $400 a night? I expected so much more. Over all, a very disappointing 30th Anniversary trip.

Thank you John for your review, we really appreciate your feedback! Let me just comment on a few things: 1. Our balconies, the entire back side of the building and railings are brand new, all was redone 2 month ago so there is no way there was any rotten wood there. 2. We have sent you at least 3 emails prior to your arrival with all the details about your stay, things to do in Lake Placid and most importantly about CONSTRUCTION. I am very sorry you did not read any of them. 3. We are a non-smoking property and we are very strict about any kind of smoking so if you let us know about the pot smell, we would have taken care of it immediately. Unfortunately, we cannot fix something we did not know about. Especially when I brought you an extension cord we talked on the phone and in person. 4. As we live in the beautiful Adirondacks reserve, there are a lot of rules about what kind of material we can use being so close to the lake and a rule about how high the railing is supposed to be at the hotel with a balcony so as much as we would like to have a beautiful open balcony view we legally cannot do it. And lastly, as I have spoken to you on the phone multiple times during your stay and you said everything was great, I would have really appreciated if you were honest with me then and I would've done everything in my power to make your stay better. If you are willing to give us another chance, I would be happy to offer you a discount and make sure your next stay is excellent!

Amazing apartment and location!
This place was amazing! It had 2 bedrooms with very comfortable beds; a living room also with a very comfortable couch; a full kitchen; and a dining table. We had a corner room facing the street and it was so fun to watch the people on Main St. The windows were gigantic, so there was plenty of light. All this for the same or lower price the hotels were charging for just a room. Check-in and check-out was super easy and we had a parking pass for the municipal lots, one of which was just across the street. The building is located right in the heart of the village, on Main St. We will definitely book here again.

It’s okay. The property location is great. The size of the room and appliances were great. But, the property has a decent amount of wear. The most obvious thing you will notice is the noise - from the squeaky hardware floors and the steps leading to the rooms. The combined effect is that you will immediately notice anyone moved in their unit or enters/leaves. Parking was a hassle.

As we always try to take into consideration all our reviews and guests feedback - we really appreciate your review. We are sorry we didn't get a 5-star review, we wish we could do better but unfortunately stairs and parking are the things out of our control. The Haus Lake Placid is an eco-chic condo-tel with a unique style. Our building was built in 1903 and while under renovation we took great effort in reusing and re-purposing all materials possible. And we agree that parking could be a hassle but the best thing is that once you are parked after your check-in, you don't need your car until you check out.

Great stay, very clean.
Stay was just what we needed. Small boutique hotel. Very clean! Immaculate, really, and I’m a tough critic when it comes to cleanliness. Best option in the whole area in my opinion and lovely view. There’s no reception so make sure you receive the email for instructions on picking up your key. If not call and hotel contact Julia will walk you through the instructions.

I have never written a review on one of theses sites as I am easily pleased. However, this was not a good experience. The parking situation is a nightmare. The area to unload and load was always full. Parking is in municipal lot. Only space available was a 20 min walk. Took over an hr. To find a place and bring our luggage to room. The check in and out policy is ridiculous. You should be able to access room an hr. Before check in if the room is ready. Expensive for what it is. We paid over $400 and we would have been better off going to a motel for half the price. We come to lake placid all the time for ski races and biking. Thought we would change it up and try something new. Big mistake. I can’t imagine the situation if we had our ski gear. Customer service is not a priority!

We're disappointed to hear that you weren't thrilled with your stay here. We pride ourselves on our rooms and location - guests have returned time and again solely because of our convenient location. We provided you with 5 different options where to park (all of them within 3-5 min walk from the hotel) and it is very hard to believe that you couldn't find one parking spot. Also I was checking in another room and asked you to only wait for 5 minutes (long enough for me to walk 3 floors up and down). You did not seem to be stressed, disappointed or unhappy with anything, I would have done my best to help you resolve any issues if you only let me know!

We really enjoyed staying in #10 at the Haus. It was perfectly located in the center of town and we took advantage of that. We loved the decor and the comfort of the beds and pullout couch. We used the patio and chiminea several times- what a view!

Cozy quaint home away from home
My now fiance' and I stayed in Suite 03 for the weekend. We have tried a lot of other hotels in Lake Placid but the Haus is our favorite and we stay there at least once a year. It's a very cozy and quaint little hotel located right in the heart of downtown Lake Placid. The layout is great for hosting a few extra guests, we also loved the shower and jetted tub after a long day hiking/ skiing. This is the only hotel we stay in now, and I would highly recommend it. Make sure you read all the different room details because each is different and the amenities vary.
